  1. I usually do the same. One thing I've really noticed about the Pirelli Scorpions on my Edge: the tread pattern is just so that it loves to pick up sharp pebbles that lodge between the ribs on the tread. Always find myself picking those out with my keys. I've had two puctures from road debris on that car. I've only ever had one other puncture flat on every other car I've ever driven. Hmmm.
  2. I've dated more than one girl who let their brakes go so long the calipers were grinding into the rotors. I need to find a girl more into cars...or living.
  3. Porsche also has a lot of non-automotive revenue. Lincoln does not.
  4. 800?? I highly doubt we'll even see more than the last GT500 did. Why would it need it anyway? It's still several hundred pounds lighter than the tank called Challenger.
  5. Lincoln would have to enter Bentley/Rolls Royce territory to get high enough.
  6. Not as protracted as it was for the Camaro.
  7. Good sign. The slow rollout is intentional in this case though, given the mess that the last MKZ launch was.
  8. Needs the power to move that tank of a car, but hey good for them. Just wish they'd do something to visually distinguish it more from the other Challengers. What do we get besides more decals?
  9. In the context it was stated, it was obviously referring to him NOT being a MAN. You know, a grown up BOY. Stop looking for racism where it clearly doesn't exist.
  10. Only if knew one of your children was going to kill the other and then himself. More like justifable homicide or euthanasia, if you ask me.
  11. Not exactly an enormous drop. There are other models down more.
  12. They sold over 26,000 of them last month, up 13.5% from a year ago.
  13. Factory money into the statements and there are no "real sports cars" at lower prices aside from what, the Miata? And the Miata doesn't offer a DSG or something similar because it costs too much, not because it's not better.
  14. True. There was a conspicuous absence of retail-vs-fleet data in the press release.
  15. Jeep keeps on rollin'! I'm shocked though that the Compass and Patriot actually still sell though. They are garbage vehicles next to their newer offerings. The Journey doing well makes about as much sense to me. 300 sales sure are down from their peak a few years ago, huh?
  16. Only Lincoln number I even pay attention to lately is MKZ. It has remained stable for a couple years now, which is a great sign. We knew MKC would be a soft launch, so no real sense looking too deep into those numbers yet. The rest of the lineup is just an outdated lost cause at the moment until replacements come. Even MKX we shouldn't expect to be keeping up steam as well as it has.
  17. Not great results, but seems some of the biggest drops were on vehicles that had anomalous months last year - 9300 Fiestas, 13,500 Edges -- both well above their norms in the previous year. Most of the "heavy hitters" still did relatively well.
  18. If it might "look better" is up for debate. But what would a Mercury counterpart to the Fusion actually offer in terms of content and value that you can't already get on the Fusion or MKZ? There is already overlap between Fusion and MKZ. There's just no room for Mercury there. When the Milan and Mariner existed, there was either still a gap there or no upward Lincoln product available.
  19. If the new car is built well, it will make a good used car. No sense focusing on anything but the former, since it is entirely responsible for the latter. Vehicles like the Panthers and Ranger made popular used cars in spite of their initial build quality, not because of it.
