  1. I agree with you wholeheartedly. Everything is a race to the next stop and go light anymore. I use to haul skids loaded with cast iron and know all about shifting and sliding loads. I learned quickly about a thing called finesse. Back in the day, a good friend of mine drove an 85 F-250 300-6 with a manual trans. It had an auxilary diesel tank in the bed, and a 7.5' Western pro plow, and I never heard him complained about power. I use to have a Ford F-7000 dump truck, powered by a 175hp 3208 CAT, that could pull a small church. When it comes to trucks, it's all about the torque.
  2. The national average means nothing to consumers in high volume areas like Chicago. Diesel has been at least a dollar more here for years. What do you think the price difference would be if more diesel cars are offered, and demand was even greater???? Your logic is flawed when it comes to Ford and diesel cars.
  3. Um, Lee, diesel averages close to a buck higher than 87 octane in and around Chicagoland.
  4. Sounds like a big fat truck LOL!
  5. I posted an article a while back regarding a consumer reports article on bad valve stems from China. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index...showtopic=26041 Now the NHTSA is investigating 2007 Ford vehicles, that may have had the bad valve stems installed as OEM. :reading: http://blogs.consumerreports.org/safety/20...ire-valves.html
  6. That song gets me all nostalgic http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=swzK7Q8teSM
  7. If that is the case, then why is Honda also lagging in sales? People are just not buying big ticket items period. My brother in-law runs two used car lots, and his sales are also down. First the high cost of gas, and now the credit crunch, are contributing factors to what is going on.
  8. Ya, but engine sludge was standard equipment on several Toyota models in recent years.
  9. Its been played at least a bizzilion times here in Chicagoland. I'm a fan of the Fixx, but not of the Toy! Legendary quality
  10. People are using lo-jack more then ever on things like skidsteers and diesel aircompressors. Loot found via GPS IndyStar.com September 28, 2007 Tipton -- Police investigators used a GPS tracking device to find stolen equipment being stored inside a Tipton County barn. Police say thieves took trucks, trailers, earth-moving equipment and small items with an estimated total value of about $200,000. In Tipton County, about 30 miles north of Indianapolis, Sheriff's Deputy Denny Pearson says a Plainfield resident had put GPS trackers on several pieces of equipment because of recent thefts. No arrests had been made in the thefts. http://www.indystar.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...0709/1196/LOCAL
  11. I knew a guy, that knew a guy, that had to unload a trailer full of brand new toilets, fast!
  12. My bet is that they had a trailer stolen before.
  13. I think its time to ditch the Powerstroke name. Scorpion sounds good to me. http://www.sema.org/Main/ArticleDetail.asp...contentID=60079
  14. Two can play at this game. Lets compare the 2006 Tundra to a 2006 F-150, shall we. P thinks he is slick by digging up old and irrelevant shit to bash Ford. He needs to find a girlfreind or something!
  15. Ya, the fact that its a blast to drive has nothing to do with it, right Matt?
  16. Right in the nutsack.. LOL!
  17. Its never going to be a Porsche Lee!
  18. Like it or not, you have to admit, the thing is tuff. The mirror survived a roll over.
  19. Matt, Matt, Matt, ignorance is bliss! The few vehicles that you are so quick to list off, make up Toyotas overall domestic content as a whole, which is around 47%. It has been proven that Toyota contracts parts out to Tokai Craft, A company said to practice slave labor. Its easy to make a profit on the Prius when you are paying someone 5 cents a day to make parts. Toyota is not stupid, they knew they had to build the flag ship models here and call them "American". But half of what they sell is imported from overseas and contain ZERO domestic content. Ford on the other hand contains 82% domestic content and has not been linked to slave labor.
