  1. just remember, $20 million a movie is never considered too much money.
  2. Why is it called socialism when Chavez takes over companies but necessity when Obama does?
  3. Please.......the G37 is way out of the Mustang's league. I've had both (2008 GT and 2009 G37) and will take the G37 any day of the week and twice on Sunday.
  4. Save yourself the hassle and go with a G37x. Bests the SHO in about everything.
  5. If Ford cannot get those kind of power numbers from a 3.7 as do most of its competitors, then its got a serious problem. I however think that since they were late to the game with a 3.5L motor, they built it with the ability to get some serious power out of it. I believe the took their time and did it right. The only question is, will the motor be reliable at higher power numbers?
  6. I have a question for anyone that may know. I currently have a 2008 Mustang and its lease is up in Sept. of 2009. I know the 2010 Mustang comes out in the early part of 2009 so do you think they will have new motor options ready by the fall of next year or will that not show up until fall of 2010? I want another Stang but I am not going to get another that is basically the same as my current setup.
  7. The company built the cars that its customers wanted and that was SUVs and trucks. They were just listening to the market. But I will agree with you that management has not been helpful. Look at the Firestone debacle with Ford. How much did that cost them? Bet they wish they had those 10's of billions right now. That being said, the problem is even if Ford, GM and Chrysler were making all the small, fuel efficient cars that Toyota and Honda do, they still cannot make money on them. Their cost structure is just way to high. That cost structure is mostly caused by the UAW. On a side note, you know the Dems are not worried so much about the big 2.5 as they are the union vote, why don't they simply fix the problem by telling all their pals to buy domestic cars. You know damn well Pelosi isn't driving domestic, especially in California. She has to be driving a Benz or BMW....remember....its California and you need to be hip.
  8. If the UAW wants to blame someone, let them blame the very people they support, Democrats. If they would just allow oil drilling to keep gas prices down, then the Big 2.5 would not have a problem selling their money making SUV's and trucks. The only one who wouldn't be happy would be tree huggers. At this point, people and jobs come first. If I was the UAW, I would have leveraged my vote of support for Obama with the promise of domestic oil drilling. Instead, they are on their knees begging for a hand out. Sad but they get what they deserve I guess.
  9. Obama is committed to the big 3 long enough to get their unions to vote for him. Someone who is against carbon emissions (tailpipe exhaust) and drilling for more oil cannot possibly be supporter of car companies. How naive are UAW workers anyway?
  10. This is clearly why the UAW doesn't deserve anything more than $15 an hour. Check out the sign in the back.... Negotiators.bmp
  11. Number 1, what is funny is how BH and the other idiot tried to tell me I cross shopped when I clearly didnt. Number 2, everywhere my car goes I have people come up to me and ask about it and look at it. Whether I am pumping gas or stopped at a light, everyone looks at it. I dont see the 350Z getting that kind of attention. That is a fact.
  12. Its clear we will just go around and around with this subject but maybe we can all agree on something here. Every product whether its milk, clothes, vacations or cars competes for our money. None of us are Bill Gates so we all have some limit as to what we can spend. Its called a budget. We decide if we want to spend more on a car and less on vacations and our homes, visa versa, etc. Based on that, when we go shopping for cars, we take into account how much we can spend and go from there. I had a budget but when I went shopping for my car, I went to a Ford dealer and ordered a Stang. I did not look at a new GP or any other car. I knew I wanted the Mustang so I didn't cross shop it with anything guys, I dont know what else to tell you but I didnt. Now, in the back of my mind, I know there are other performance cars out there that I COULD have looked at or researched....but I didnt. I cannot see how turning in my GP and going strait to a Ford dealer and ordering a Stang without looking at another vehicle is cross shopping. If it is, please someone come up with a good definition. Now that that is out of the way, if we focus on the term competition and if there are cars out there that match the Mustang for what it offers, sure, there are some I suppose. Some offer similar or better performance, features, etc. but there isnt a car out there that as a total package offers the value the Mustang does. Thats taking into account performance, price, roominess, etc. Nothing really compares to it. If nothing compares to it, then it doesnt have a true competitor.
  13. BH and the other idiot...I did not cross shop the 350Z or the Grand Prix. Having owned the GP, I realized it didn’t compete with the Stang. That's why I bought the Stang. The 350Z, never even entered my mind. Barely know what one is. There is a difference between cross shopping and competition. As it was stated before, every car in the market for that price range would have to be cross shopped with each other. That doesn’t mean it competes with the other vehicles because each offers a unique value based on your needs (e.g. a 27K mini-van and a 27K sports car). Each costs 27K and could potentially be cross shopped but the cars offer 2 completely different sets of values. Right now, there is not a vehicle that really offers the value of the Mustang. There are many cars that cost less, as much and more than a Stang but when you put that all together, nothing offers the kind of value the Stang does.
  14. Exactly Timm55! I am coming off my second Grand Prix which is fun to drive and have more features in than the Mustang. But, most of those features I could car less if I have or not. But I cannot get out of paying for them. So, when it came time to turn in my lease on my GP, I looked at two cars and two cars only. The Grand Prix GXP which comes with a V8 and is fast, and the Mustang. The Mustand paddles the GXP in every performance statistic and is RWD. Aside from that, its several thousands of dollars cheaper than the GP. The RX-8 is slower than my current GP so that wasnt an option and the 350Z never registered on my radar b/c it doesnt fit the bill that the Mustang does. The Mustang was the only choice out there because there are NO other alternatives to what it offers. Not until we see a Camaro or Challenger. Even those won't offer an alternative b/c they will cost much more.
  15. I don't recall in any of my posts using profanity so if you are genuinely trying to have an argument, refrain from using terms like "dumb asses". That way, you don't come across like an idiot and maybe can get some respect. That being said, what's interesting is how BH cut down people for posting links or quoting other websites regarding comparo's but he is living and dying by his NADA site link. WTF? BH again is missing the fundamentals behind breaking down & comparing 2 opposing products. In simple terms, compare all the specs of the products which include performance, size, price, roominess, etc. etc. and which ever has more of the pros for you, buy it. Simple, right? So try this, go to Edmunds, pull up a 2007 Mustang and 350Z (2008 Z's aren't listed yet) and compare base to base. Base 350Z is at a minimum 2k more. Performance specs are basically even. Overall space inside the cars goes to the Mustang in every category. So, unless you do not like the looks of the Mustang, it trumps the 350Z is most categories including the most important, price. Sorry, but the 350Z does not stack up high enough to compete with the Mustang.
