  1. Start date has been Nov, we've know that since Feb.
  2. What I meant is that the dates in terms of when the the order guide comes out etc were well knowni n Explorer circles, but no one sems to talk in F150 circles. The sales of 2010s and inventory mgmt is nothing new & no suprise. The dates of releases etc have been know for a long time, they havn't changed, its just no one is saying what they are.
  3. Is it just me or with the new Explorer it seemed like a dozen key "insiders" could provide dates for everything, With the F150, zip.
  4. I hope its out this week! Got to be?
  5. Oh I know. It was even worse in the 60s. I recall looking through a @ 65-66 popular mechanics and a Olds 455cu had @155 hp! A cr@p load of tq, but 155 hp!
  6. Found some specs: 4.9 L I6 1987–91 165 hp (123 kW) 275 lb·ft (373 N·m) EFI 5.0 L V8 1987–91 185 hp (138 kW) 270 lb·ft (370 N·m) EFI 5.8 L V8 1987 210 hp (160 kW) 305 lb·ft (414 N·m) 4-bbl. 5.8 L V8 1988–91 210 hp (160 kW) 315 lb·ft (427 N·m) EFI 4.9 L I6 1992–93 145 hp (108 kW) 265 lb·ft (359 N·m) 4.9 L I6 1994–96 150 hp (110 kW) 260 lb·ft (350 N·m) 5.0 L V8 1992–93 185 hp (138 kW) 270 lb·ft (370 N·m) 5.0 L V8 1994–96 205 hp (153 kW) 275 lb·ft (373 N·m) 195 hp (145 kW) for automatic So there were years where the 300 had more peak tq no dount. 87-91 I had a 94 with the 302 auto w 195 hp/275tq and it moved. Everyone thought it was a 351. BTW, last run of the 460: 7.5 L V8 1994–97 245 hp (183 kW) 395 lb·ft (536 N·m) And now our little 3.5L EB is going to have about the same tq & @ 150 more hp!
  7. Wow I'm suprised how guys remember the ol 300 six. I agree it was a tourquey engine, and pulled nicely (mainly due to low expectaions) but c'mon folks the number one reason it was perceived to be a great engine is cause it teamed wiht a manual tranny. The ford autos were crap back then. We had two 87 F150s on the farm back then, an auto and a 4 speed. They pulled the same rv. The auto struggled all the time. The manual had zero problems. We also had a 1980 with a 300 auto and it wouldn't touch either 5.0L. We also had a 88 5.0L with the then new 5 speed and it was a rocket compared to the 5.0L auto. night and day diff.
  8. Thanks. Kind of what I figured. (I was hoping a week or two sooner)
  9. Any insiders know what day order guide is out. Sounds like this month, but are we looking at 16th, 20th, 30th?
  10. As I recall what Ford said was their costs for a EB over what it replaces woudl be @ $700.
  11. Not sure why towing on 4 cyl EB is only 2,000lbs. V6 EB in F150 is going to be class leader in towing...
  12. Exactly my point. Engine prod may start Sept which in my mind is about right given trucks start in Nov.
  13. Would be nice. But they start making the trucks Nov 22...
  14. Probably be another 5 weeks of silence until 'hopefully' the order guides are out.... with #s not just "tbd".
  15. Fantastic! Hardly wait until I can buy one here.
  16. Yes they will have screen ala SD. Also have e steering. Here is all too short vid of '11:
  17. I know, thats why I asked. And I really doubt we'll see any on the lot before Jan 1. Nov 22 start daue and they have to build a whole bunch and hold 'em back before they're released. Hope your right.
  18. Is that just the 11 Raptor on sale in Oct or the rest of the F150 lineup too?
  19. CGI required to be light enough yet still handle higher compresion. Both are CGI as I understand it.
