Just think if Messers Mulally & Fields had enough vision to put the 3 valve 4.6 liter engine in the Grand Marquis and the 3 valve 5.4 liter engine in the Town Car. They would have had buyers lined up at the dealerships.
Maybe the forthcoming 6.2 liter engine will become an option on the 2011 Mustang. It's a pushrod so fit problems may not arise. It's whats needed to compete with the new Camaro.
I don't see anything that reflects it was once the car of presidents. Have you seen the spy pictures of the new Cadillac limousine to be used by our next president? Impressive!!
For a vehicle that's not going to be advertised, available only by ordering through a dealer, I find it difficult to believe that the Crown Victoria for 2008 is receiving a new grille. The 2008 Grand Marquis is unchanged from 2007.
I'm positive that I read that Mark Fields advised that the MKS would come with a V-8 engine. Even as options the Thunderbird 3.9 liter V-8 or the Yamaha 4.4 liter V-8 would be fantastic.
I'm sure by sometime in 2007 or early 2008 the Mariner will have the Duratec 35 engine and the six speed automatic transmission. Is it true that Lincoln will have a 3.7 liter version of the Duratec 35 engine?
Your reply hit the nail right on its head. Another V-6 Lincoln and in a supposed flagship, is simply ludicrous. Are Ford's marketing morons trying to kill the brand? I sincerely hope the Town Car survives but with the 5.4 V-8.
The MKS should have been called the Lincoln S 80 or is it a Volvo with a Lincoln grille. That's not my idea of a luxury car. Cadillac, you have nothing to worry about.
