Thats just it. The GM triplets are to this market what the F-Series is to trucks. This refresh is likely enough to not lose current customers, but isn’t going to move the needle.
Would be nice if there were a BEV version (Thunder?)
Unfortunately while it adds some great features for the Lightning (remote climate control including seats and steering wheel) it removes other useful features (route planning, charge station controls, and zone lighting)
My wife came out once to find a dark blue FX4 Superduty (antimatter?) parked right next to her Alto Blue FX4 Maverick. It was pretty funny to compare them.
Toyota does not sell the GX, and lumping it in with the other two is a red herring. If Ford brought Everest to NA do you think there wouldn’t be a Lincoln version? It’s yet to be seen how well Toyota will do with the overlap of the LC and 4Runner.
The Everest would sell in GTO/G8 numbers. It’s equally dated to those vehicles when they came over. It would need to be redesigned, and would need a whole new interior. The Ranger interior is barely serviceable for a midsize truck, and would not work in what would be a premium SUV.
Fixed top Bronco is a much better vehicle for NA.
Thank you!
I own a 2010 Flex (giving to a friend for his teen) and 2015 Edge (will be my sons when he gets his license in a few months) - both have been outstanding cars.
I’d consider a sedan if it was a four door Mustang. Especially a BEV AWD one. Call it Mustang, Mustang Falcon, Falcon, Galaxie, or Thunderbird, doesn’t matter to me.
Are the Toyota and Hondas truly world cars?
How many markets are the Camry and Accord sold in? In the past, at least, the Civic was a NA specific model.
I don’t see myself ever owning a sedan, but one of the things that always amazes me is how tall cars have gotten. Take any modern car and put it next to a late eighties, early nineties car and the modern car may as well be an SUV. My high school dream cars were the F150 Flareside, and the 92 Firebird. The 92 Firebird looks practically exotic size-wise nowadays. The new Accord seems to be bucking the trend. It looks (at least proportionately) more sleek.
No there wasn’t. There was supposed to be a Lincoln based on the R1 platform. R2 is new.
Back when Ford had a large investment in Rivian, and the Lincoln was planned I had hoped Rivian would use Ford as a “ghost kitchen” for service.
If it was stopped it wouldn’t have hit anything. Unless you mean it stopped after it hit the cars? before it hit the cars it clearly was moving forward, and then accelerated into the stopped vehicles.
I just tested on the way home and resume works at 10 mph, but not at 9 mph. 10 mph is not unusual speed to be going in a parking lot. The resume button sticks out from the rest of the buttons and makes it easier to accidentally hit.
In one of the fb groups I’m active in people post about SUA frequently, and it is usually explained a
s having hit resume. When I’ve hit it I ha
ve done it while making a turn similar to the video.
Activate is 15mph. Resume is seemingly less (if limited at all). Here’s a thread on it.

I wouldn’t be surprised if they accidentally resumed cruise control while turning the wheel. I’ve done it myself a couple times, and people post about it in the Lightning groups quite often. With sub 4 second 0-60 it can be shocking when you don’t intend it to happen.
