  1. And Fusion, C-Max, and MKZ aren't even hitting their strides yet. We'll know by the summer or fall how they are really doing.
  2. I would think that the factory that the Fiesta is made in would have room to make 50-70,000 units of the EcoSport for the US and Canada. Heck, they might be able to use that plant to source for Europe as well.
  3. They didn't cancel the Grand C-Max because it was a mini-minivan. They canceled it because they decided they wanted to focus on the C-Max Hybrid and offer a dedicated Hybrid model. I still think Ford should offer a North American style minivan to sell here, Canada, and China. I bet they could sell 100,000 of them eventually spread between those three markets.
  4. I really hope the EcoSport ( or a NA version of it ) comes here soon. Please change the name though, as EcoSport sounds cheap to me. Upgrade the interior a bit and add the 2.0I4 from the Focus and the 1.6I4 EB engine and I bet it would sell at least 50,000 units.
  5. I really hope Ford stops ramming black interiors down our throats. I know it is the most popular interior color...but there are too many trim level and exterior color combos that force you to get a black interior. I noticed in the 2014 Fiesta photos it did look like the Titanium will be available with a two-tone interior in black/tan. I really hope this spreads to Focus and Fusion.
  6. I didn't say 100% of Fusion production was moving to FR. I know it will be a second plant. I'm also thinking about Oakville's future. If Ford is working on a North American style minivan...it will go there.
  7. I can't see how Flat Rock could have any space left with the Fusion, Taurus, and MKS being added there over the next 2 years or so. Couldn't Ford add some Focus and/or C-Max production to Wayne Assembly?
  8. Looks like they added lots of standard features to the SE, like ambient lighting, sync, and alloy wheels. That is huge.
  9. I'm surprised how close the styling is to the current version. But I still think it looks great. It will definetly look more new than either the GM or Ram trucks. I also wouldn't be surprised to see a Transit/Territory/EcoSport style grille as an option.
  10. The 2.0I4 EcoBoost might be the initial powertrain...but it might get the soon-to-be-released 2.3I4 EcoBoost and/or the future 2.7V6 EcoBoost.
  11. I completely disagree. Chevy and GMC's Trucks have looked like minor refreshes for my entire life...well at least just different versions of the same basic design theme. The Ram has looked basically the same as the version that debuted in the mid-90s. In fact, when the current gen debuted in 2009 ( I don't count the 2013 as a new version because it is barely different visually or mechanically ) it was a rather sublte redesign from the previous generation Ram. Over the course of my life the F-150 has had a much more significant design progression.
  12. I actually am really rooting for a major change in the F-150's styling direction. I loved the 2004 and the 2009 was a good update on that basic design direction. But I think Ford has done the 100% macho look for long enough now. The 1997 F-150 was so futuristic and innovative in its styling. It truly was the first truck that said: "Trucks can be forward thinking in design, they can be family vehicles as well as tough. " I want the 2015 F-150 to say the same sort of things.
  13. I love everything about it. Especially the interior and the rear lights.
  14. Word is the MKC production vehicle will debut in New York just like the MKZ was. It gives Lincoln two chances at media attention. Also, Lincoln has added a place holder page on their website for the MKC
  15. I get more excited about production and practical vehicles that showy cars. The Evoque looks good. But it is very expensive and is very impractical with that sloping rear. It is like a better loooking ZDX in that way. So yes, I look at the MKC "concept" and I see an extremelly classy looking small luxury crossover. That makes me excited. I'm even more excited because it belongs to one my favorite brands with two of my favorite styling cue: 1. the split wing grill in any of its guises...well except for the current MKT. 2. The Rear lightbar.
  16. Ford will probably show off the passenger (wagon) version of the Transit. I really hope the Edge and MKX come out for the 2014 model year or else Ford will have a pretty "carry-on" year with only new commercial vehicles and the updated Fiesta. I have heard that as with the MKZ, Detroit will get the "concept" MK-Escape and the New York show will get the production version. The 2015 model year will be extremelly busy for Ford, even if the Edge and MKX turn out to be 2014 model years. -2015 F-150 -2015 Mustang Possible: 2015 Taurs, 2015 Expedition, etc
  17. Eaxctly. I the turbo 4 is here to stay in the entry luxury market. 3-Series, A4, ATS...they all have it in North America. In fact, the vast majority of sales in the US of the A4 are of the turbo 4. And it pains me when people compare the MKZ with cars not in its segment like the A6, 5-Series etc. It competes with the price segment below that. And the sub-segment it is REALLY gunning for is NOT the 3-Series, C-Class, Lexus IS and Infiniti G37. It IS gunning for the Lexus ES, Acura TSX and TL, Audi A4, Volvo S60, etc. If the MKZ can beat or match those cars in reviews or sales then bully for Lincoln.
  18. I am still (partially) convinced at the next-gen MKX is the supposed "Aviator." What I mean by that is the MKX will become a three-row ( or at least a three-row optional ) midsize luxury crossover similar to the Acura MDX and the Infiniti JX ( before it gets renamed ). That would remove any "clutter" in the Lincoln lineup because you have small ( MKC ) Medium ( MKX ) and large ( Navigator ) without any siginificant overlap.
  19. Excellent. I sure hope the production version is coming soon.
  20. The next gen Edge and S-Max will not merge because they serve two different market segments. Also, Ford stated that the next-gen Edge would be sold in Europe in the S/CUV segment.
  21. The need a reveal. The Detroit show is THE biggest automotive event in the New World and arguable in the entire world. Ford is a Tier One brand and it needs a significant presence. The 2011 show was kinda boring for Ford because they only had the Vertrek concept, I think. Ford needs to have more. Now...there is that rumor of a F-150 teaser concept...
  22. With the debut of the NA versions of the Transit and Transit Connect out of the way...Ford still needs a "world-wide" debut in Detroit. The only mjaor option is the 2014 Edge. But some have INSISTED that the next gen Edge will be a 2015 model year vehicle. What are the other options? Mustang, F-150, and Expedition are likely for the 2015 model year and Taurus might be a 2015 as well. So...it has to be the Edge, right?
  23. I don't think the Three Row ( if such a thing will exist ) should be sold here. I think Ford needs a CUV below the Escape, and the EcoSport would work better here than the B-Max. It is not like other automakers don't have Sub-C-size CUVS here. Nissan has the Juke and Cube, Scion has the XD, Kia has the Soul, etc.
  24. I really want the EcoSport to come to the US/Canada. But I have a few requests before they do: 1. Name change. "EcoSport" sounds soooo cheap to me. Call it "Faction." 2. Engines should be the EB I3 and the 2.0I4 from the Focus. 3. Remove the spare wheel fromt he back. Not cool for NA S/CUVS anymore. 4. Give it a proper center console like they did for the 14 Fiesta 5. Price it way below the Escape. It should not start above $21,000.
