  1. I’ll have to disagree with you regarding bland styling. The last Fusion was a great car with excellent styling. That certainly wasn’t the reason for its demise.
  2. I actually preferred the outgoing models. I thought the charger was a pretty good looking car, and the upper end Challengers as well, particularly the widebody variant. I’m not sold yet on this new model. It looks squished in the front and bulbous in the rear. Weird proportions in my eyes.
  3. I thought this was interesting when I read it. I was trying to interpret what it meant and respect to sales. Is this an indication of softening demand? I am personally reluctant to buy a Bronco based on their current pricing.
  4. Give me a week in it and l’ll report back my thoughts.
  5. Exactly, which is why I wanted to see a pic of this GT, because I was thinking it was the “GT” model.
  6. The Bronco prices have really gotten out of hand, but people are paying them so who am I to say. It just won’t be me paying those prices. There was a 21 Wildtrak on BaT with 20k miles that sold for $46k, so there are deals to be had out there.
  7. It’s frustrating when Ford has a lot of nice options in the corporate parts bin, but doesn’t offer them to their home market. The competition related to the cabin area appears to be only getting more intense, so I hope they will commit to upping their game.
  8. Welcome! You should post a pic of the new ride.
  9. I wanted to mention that I had to turn in my Chevy Traverse work car and they replaced it with an Edge SEL AWD. It’s likely an interim vehicle that will later be replaced with hopefully an Explorer. So for now I have the Mach E and the Edge. It was nice to kick the Chevy out of the driveway, and have a full compliment of Fords again, lol.
  10. I understand what you are saying, and I agree that low cost BEVs are necessary to get substantial adoption, but that is a difficult proposition in this day and age with the cost of virtually every component necessary to build the vehicle being higher. I honestly don’t know how they are going to get there even with some type of minimalist urban vehicle. The Regardimg creating vehicles that people didn’t know they wanted, the Maverick fits in that category, however i think it is successful because it offers a lot of utility for the money. If it were a BEV, how much do you think it would cost compared to its ICE or hybrid counterpart? If it was substantially more expensive, I’m guessing people’s willingness to compromise would diminish since there would be better ICE or hybrid alternatives at that price point. It’s an incredibly challenging situation. Perhaps if wages catch up, the vehicles won’t look as expensive.
  11. That’s why we have to get the central planners in here to fix the situation for everybody. We can’t be empowered with decision making!
  12. I do think they need a bigger rugged affordable SUV. When we replaced our totaled Escape, my daughter had the option for a BS and she chose the Escape because of the poor rear seat legroom. It was also nice that the 23 Escape was noticeably nicer than the outgoing model. I also don’t think the a Mav SUV would cannibalize BS sales due to the size differentiation.
  13. I’ve been in both, and there is a noticeable difference to me between a navigator and a platinum expedition.
  14. We have a 23 model and I didn’t see it as an option at that time, although when we got it I wasn’t aware they had removed it, so didn’t search it out.
  15. Price is certainly a factor on most everything nowadays. Late in 2022, we were considering getting a Bronco Wildtrak, but didn’t pull the trigger at that time. Its sticker was around $60,000. Now we are no longer considering buying a Bronco as a primary driver, because we just aren’t seeing the value anymore. That same Wildtrak is now $68,335. That $8k isn’t getting you anything more. There are a lot of good options out there for $70k. If we ever get a Bronco now it will likely be a cheaper used model or perhaps new lower end model, and it will be used as a 3rd vehicle.
  16. I’ve been wondering for a while why the Evos isn’t available here. I think it’s pretty sharp. I think the Chinese Edge would need some styling adjustments to make it successful here. Ford needs more products to sell.
  17. I personally am not a fan of the current Jeep styling, with the exception of the Wrangler. Perhaps that’s a contributing factor.
  18. Is this an acknowledgment that people still want this option? Ford is so shortsighted, and loves to nickel and dime their customers.
  19. It’s funny how Hyundai manages to build multiple similar vehicles, which most likely would be considered commodities, yet still manages to make a profit. I personally wouldn’t consider the Edge a commodity, as its price point is not consistent with cheap vehicles. What are they going to do when they start building these two EVs and only a few people are interested in buying them? I think Ford is in a precarious situation with the potential to not have enough of the right types of vehicles to sell. The next year is going to be interesting to see how this situation evolves.
  20. With the highly volatile pricing structure of the lightning, plus questionable resale value, the lightning is not something I would be willing to invest in anytime soon. Plus the fact that the range is not sufficient considering my MachE with a max range of 270 miles, only reflects 200 miles of estimated range on a full charge now that it has gotten cold, and in reality is only getting about 150 miles of actual usage.
  21. This is why it pisses me off that they have been removing them. I hope they will reconsider this trend as well.
  22. I’ll have to look at the layout and get back to you. I forgot what was available on the main screen since I don’t drive often. I personally don’t like touch screens for certain things.
