  1. If everyone reduces fleet sales, where will the cars come from? They can't all be Hyundais. There is still fleet demand to be met and no one wants to meet it moving forward.
  2. So much for re-badging. This looks nothing like the flex.
  3. The launch was delayed to make sure everything went out without problems. I have one of the first MKXs released and there is nothing wrong with the "fit and finish". The Consumer Reports review is BS. I've had plenty of people in my car and I can guarantee you that not one has commented on the "refinement" of the engine. One part of the article is right, based on how many random people stop me to ask me questions about my MKX or tell me that they want one, I'd say public sentiment is very good.
  4. This is a vehicle that really looks better in person. When I first saw the photos I thought it was a pretty lame "redesign" on the exterior. I was very impressed when I saw it at the Ford dealer.
  5. Anyone care to comment on why the Edge only shows about 21,000 total sales in this report. At least some of the other vehicles are tracking near the May sales results but the Edge is showing less than half. There have been more than 21,000 Edge sales in the first 6 months of 07 so the 6800 or so fleet sales may not really be 32% of overall sales. I'm a little leary of a report with a bust in the numbers of this magnitude.
  6. Agreed. The talk of getting away from minivans reminds me of what was said about the small car market when Ford got out of it. Then they get caught with their pants down and and are late to the party when small cars come back. Don't abandon a market because no one bought your crappy product. Come back with a better product. Diversification is the key. SUVs are declining, do you leave that market too. Oh and what about when everyone said the pony cars were over and all of a sudden the new Mustang is a hit and the Camaro has to come back from the dead. They should have no problem selling 100k minivans a year if they put out a good one.
  7. For $300 it would have to be a big upgrade on the aux jack.
  8. Does anyone have Triptunes? Are the dealer's installing yet? Just saw on the ford website it's available and I'm wondering if it's worth the upgrade over the auxilary jack. Looks like it could be cool.
  9. Ford just figured that if they were competing against the Chrysler 300 they should call it the Ford 500 because everyone knows that's 200 better! :P
  10. This is dissapointing. My MPV has been a quality reliable vehicle. Sliders are a must with two small children and I"m surprised that fact is being ignored. If I replaced my MPV right now I wouldn't even look at a CX-9 because it doesn't have sliders.
  11. I bought an MKX because I wanted the extra options available and mostly because I think the interior is a huge upgrade over the Edge. Based on my experience with the Lincoln Dealer all of the critics will be proved wrong by the sales. I had trouble seeing an MKX before mine arrived because the longest time one that wasn't presold stayed on the lot was about a half an hour. There is quite a buzz that the Lincoln dealers are not used to and the MKX is bringing younger customers in also. This buzz is without too many people knowing anything about the car yet. No one at my office had heard of an MKX before I showed up in mine. It should have even more interest when the word gets out. I'm not saying this car will save Lincoln but I don't think they will have a problem selling 50,000 of these a year judging by the early response from people I showed mine to.
  12. I hope they do more with the Freestyle than just taking it from an Explorer station wagon to a Fusion station wagon.
  13. zzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzzz. Now it looks like two boring cars got mixed together since the roofline doesn't really go with the front end. This thing needs an overhaul. Good car, but it needs some style.
  14. They should have just called it the Faurus so they could keep their sacred F.
