Why do people think everyone is "entitled" to anything? Why do hard working people have to pay to take care of anyone else other than their own family? Did you even watch the videos and actually listen to what Bush said? Lets review.... Video #1: For the homes to be bought by QUALIFIED low income minorities, they would be assisted by giving money for down-payment from govt. and given a tax credit. Bush also wanted to eliminate all the fine print that the lenders wanted to throw in the contracts that convolute payments and requirements. Those screwed up loans were created by the loan institutions, not Bush. He was trying to help minorities get into homes. Shouldn't everyone have that ability? Video #2: Goes back to what the videos I showed. The GOP was trying to curtail bad loan practices by Freddie and Fannie in '04. Video #3: So basically it comes down to people who put themselves in a bad position by buying homes they couldn't afford, is all Bush's fault? Seems very partisan of you first of all. Second, How much hand-holding does the govt. have to give to people? Next, people will want the govt. to wipe their behind too. I can honestly say their is plenty of blame to go around than trying to pin it all on one person. Was Bush a great President? I sure as hell wouldn't say so. I can also tell you that Congress will not go down as being one of the best either.

That was not me who wrote that. It was the second half of the article posted previous to yours. Just showing what that article was really about. Do you not think that being in a global economy changes the rules abit? What would you like to do? Don't tell me, You want to raise tariffs to make all incoming goods more expensive so American made goods are on the same level price-wise, yes? Don't you think the counties whos goods we tariff won't retaliate? And that their other trading parters won't follow suit? Its been in the news, not OUR national news, but other countries news. Try getting news from another source than the garbage they spew here in the States. Lets try this scenario, How about making it cheaper for big business to do business here. Cut capitol gains to start with. And before you jump on that soap box, I feel that American business has been put on an unequal playing field with its foreign counter parts. If the government is going to subsidize, it should do it with an American company rather than a foreign one. In your scenario, all you will do is alienate the U.S. from the rest of the world, make goods and services more expensive and force the government to take care of more needs of more people that can't afford anything.

State workers already took a pay cut. When Grandholm was first elected. So they are not "next". Why is it that everyone loves freedom, but yet are trying to take other peoples freedom from them? Who made you God? Why do YOU get to choose how people spend their money? Please tell me the only place you shop for grocieries is at a union store, or that you don't patron Wally world, that you go to a mom and pop hardware store and not one of those big box stores and that you go online and buy union clothing. Please tell me you do these things. Otherwise, you're just another hypocrite.

You should get on your knees and thank a vet. Instead, you want to be a classless piece of crap. Who are you to tell a vet what to buy? Or anyone for that matter! I've said it before and i'll say it again......Get off your high horse! I bet you go to Wal-Mart, Home Depot, and every other union hating place there is. Don't be a hypocrite!

I am placing no blame nor am I saying you don't deserve a fair wage. What I am saying is that people in the UAW believe that their job is the the most skilled and they are un replaceable. I worked in a Ford plant. I listened to what people said, how they acted. They act the same way on here too. Everybody knows how the UAW "protects" its workers. You could be the biggest f_ up and still keep your job. Hell, you don't even have to show up all the time or better yet, just go to sick call. All these issues are what give hard working UAW members a bad name. Maybe if the UAW changed the way it did business in that regard, it would start to change public perception.

The answer is simple. There is a popular view of UAW auto workers, and that is entitlement. The way ALOT of UAW auto workers act, it's as if NOBODY else could do their job and its the HARDEST job in the world and nobody could relate to what they go through and therefore deserve everything they have. The part of deserving everything you have is absolutley true. Having a union to increase the quality of life is a must. Without checks and balances, everyone would make squat. However, one does not have to act holyier than thou while doing it. Nobody is unreplaceable. There are plenty of hungry people willing to step in and do your job. Good luck and God bless

Bottom line is this...Do you really practice what you preach? Some may, most don't. Look on the internet, you can find any type of clothing made in the USA. But it doesn't stop there, How about shopping? Do you go to a union grociery store? How about hardware stores? Bet you NEVER went to a Lowes or Home Depot eh? Walmart anyone? It's not your guy's fault that the big 3 are in the shitter, its poor management. They react too slow for the customer demand and seem to want to push what they want the public to buy. So you can't blame people for wanting to buy something they like and not something forced upon them. You cannot tell people how or where to spend their money. They don't like it and you wouldn't either. Flame away.
