  1. Feb. 14, 2009 modifications, shelf agreemement page 3. "Following these discussions, the company may, with a minimum of fourteen (14) days notice, transition between traditional work schedule, and/or the following designated alternative work schedules at ANY UAW-Ford location." I believe Van Dyke falls under the group ANY UAW-Ford location. Please site something out of the contract like I have for you that states VD trades do not have to go on AWS. PS. Lawyers will tell you whatever you want to hear to get your money.
  2. Morris needs to really work on production because the only trade votes he is going to get are maybe millwrights. He should have thought about taking off his millwright blinders a long time ago if he was going to run for plant committee. Good luck
  3. Myself and many other tradesmen in the Van Dyke plant are sick and tired of always being the go to plant to implement any new programs or work rule chages for the company. We are always being told that once you guys establish the system then all the other plants will follow. Well guess what? That never seems to happen. Were always the ones that get stuck wth the bs and everyone else gets to bennefit with some other version of what we established or don't follow suit at all. For once I say let some other plants start the mech. teams and when it finally makes its way to Van Dyke we will deal with it at that point and time, because mech. teams is only going to reduce heads so why would we want to be the first ones in line? I don't know about you but I sure don't trust some of the people in place at our plant to make the right decisions for us any more than I trust someone from another facility. One thing I do know is that if it comes down from another plant at least I wouldn't have to worry about committeemen and some appointted officials taking care of their own trade at the expense of other trades.
  4. I agree with ljc, politics are politics whether it's dirty or clean. The one thing many people on the floor don't seem to understand is why are you getting involved in the plant committee position when all the other committee man and just sitting back. The consensus on the floor is your either looking out for yourself or your trade. You would have been much better of just keeping your views to yourself and let the membership of 2280 decide for the themselves instead of trying to persuade people to vote for foster. Good luck, I hope all your work pays off.
  5. Some of the other possible candidates have already had an opportunity to screw us over, and they did. That's why it sounds like a lot of trades are supporting Lance also.
  6. Buffalo and Scott have already shown what they are capable of doing and that's not much. My vote goes to a 3 term committeeman, Lance Adams.
  7. Just because you lacked the level of intelligence necessary to pass the skilled trades exam does not mean all skilled trades are lazy. I'm sure you seat on your ass at your work station and bitch about how everyone is not doing anything. Here is an idea.....grow some balls and come to a union meeting and call us lazy to our face. Oh, thats right, you can't grow any balls because your a BITCH!!!
  8. Looks like us at van dyke have gotten your old plant manager. Can anyone tell us a little something about him.
  9. Would you happen to know what trades are in jsp at Sterling and how many of each trade?
  10. How many people took the buy out at Sterling? Trades and production?
  11. Our superintendant told us to expect the same down time yesterday. If 6f mid goes down also, that is why I figured half the plant would be on tlo.
  12. Don't look for anymore production coming in before some time next year. As of right it sounds like 1/2 the plant is going to be on tlo the week of Thanksgiving and 4 weeks from the middle of Dec. into Jan.
  13. Is the posting for production only or were their any trades listed? If so, what trades and how many. Thanks
  14. TM, MR, EL, TMO, Gage & Layout, Power Service Operators. No Fitter, Millwrights, or Hydraulic.
  15. Not to sure about west but I believe east consists of Van Dyke, Romeo Engine, Romeo Proving Grounds, Utica, Chesterfield, and Sterling.
  16. We were told 10 electricians and 4 power house electricians are coming to van dyke after shutdown, but we don't know from where. I heard their are postings already up in utica for trades to come to van dyke. I believe sterling should get the same posting along with the 70 prod. jobs that are needed after shutdown, being that we are all in the same zone, instead of only giving this opportunity to utica.
  17. Still waiting on those 300 utica workers to show up this month....2 weeks left.
  18. To the individual or individuals who have decided to draw attention to the UAW and Local 2280 officials, you should put this same amount of time and energy into all the positve things this Local has done and continues to do for it's members. You should be ashamed of yourselves to call yourselves UAW members and Ford Motor Co. employees for doing this. Be a man and come to a union meeting and voice your opinion in front of everyone instead of being a coward and TRY to remain annonymus.
  19. Make sure your dumb ass comes back on this forum after next month when those 300 peple from utica DON'T come to Van Dyke. I GUARANTEE it will not happen.
  20. After RTBU's I'm hearing about 50-75 production.
  21. Job 1 I believe is somewhere around March 12, so I believe we could be at full production for dayshift only by May 15. Afternoon shift is expected to be added on sometime in early fall.
  22. I was at one of our largest dealerships in southeastern Michigan yesterday (Suburban Ford) and they had 1 super duty on the lot. When I asked a sales rep. about their inventory he told me "we can't get them." Could somebody please explain to me why??
  23. Would anyone from KTP know why the majority of dealer lots in Michigan do not have any SD??? Are u guys behind schedule or what is the deal??
