  1. Really curious to see where this inventory build up is. I don't think there is a Ford dealer in the metro Detroit area that has more than 5 Expedition or Navigator. That's not much of an inventory to me.
  2. All dealers in the metro detroit have a near zero inventory of Expedition but yet the customers want them.. I guess that's what happens when you continue to put all your hot sellers on 1 line. Wish they would get something right for once. Seems like the redesigned Expedition should have had a separate line or moved to another facility to increase capacity. GM doesn't have a problem building enough Yukon Tahoe or Suburban.
  3. With Ford putting so much emphasis on suv I don't understand how they did not see the increase in demand for the Expedition and Navigator. Four months into the new year and the dealer lots are still empty. Lets continue to put all our hot selling vehicles on 1 line and then wonder why we cant meet demand. I don't have much confidence in our upper management.
  4. That's AMAZING!!!! Just curious, how is Ford ever going to meet the demand of the Expedition and Navigator if you guys are already producing 41,000 vehicles a month? Seems like they could use 10,000 Expedition a month right now and I don't know if that would even be enough. Dealer lots are nearly empty.
  5. When exactly are you guys going down for the changeover?
  6. What is the deal with the Expedition??? Why are we not producing over 10,000 a month? The dealer inventories within a 100 radius of me show no more than 2 at any particular dealer. Sure looks like another screw up by Ford with not being able to meet demand. Lets continues to put all the hot selling vehicles on 1 line and then not be able to keep up with demand. Who in the world thought that redesigning this vehicle after all those years would not result in a huge increase in demand? This was our opportunity to capture sales from GM, but it looks like we missed the boat once again. Glad me pay all our executives millions and millions of dollars to continue to make stupid mistakes.
  7. What does the SE and SEL front grill look like?
  8. Wow that is a lot of vehicles for 1 month. How many more Expedition and Navigator can be made without taking away from the Super Duty? I could see them selling close to 10,000 Expedition right now if they were available.
  9. What is the deal with the Expedition? Something tells me they cant make enough. All hot selling vehicles on 1 line does not sound like a good plan to me.
  10. Has it been confirmed if the 2020 Explorer will be rear wheel drive?
  11. Just wondering, what transmission is the US Ecosport getting and who is the supplier?
  12. Wow I'm surprised. I could see the potential of 10,000 sales a month, but obviously that won't be possible if Ford can't produce enough. I sure hope this doesn't cost us sales.
  13. With such a high demand for the Expedition, does anyone know how many Kentucky Truck would be capable of producing in a month?
  14. Thanks. I sure hope they don't run into a capacity issue.
  15. Question.....Are Expedition and Navigators built on the same line as the super duty or do they have a dedicated line? What would be the most the plant could produce of Expy and Nav for a month?
  16. Do you happen to know how many fitters they still need after the posting?
  17. Were you aware of the openings at Chicago?
  18. Is this "how a union is suppost to work" by putting trades against production? I am tradesman who came from production and I understand how SOME production jobs are worth the amount the employee is getting paid per hour. If you expect me to believe that somebody putting a couple of nuts and bolts on a part justifies $28 an hour then your full of shit. Trades are paid the same amount per hour as guys on the outside if not less. Tell how me how many production jobs out there pay $28 and hour for running machinery or driving a hilo?
  19. Very well said. Ford Motor Company/UAW skilled trades performed 95% of this project along with working layed off trades for over the last year and a half making more money than some of these guys have ever seen before. I think all the construction trades made out very well for the amount of bitching we did to keep the work in house. Just my opinion.
  20. I agree, when our last chairman was in office we brought in I believe approx. 300 people from Utica then had a layoff shortly after. Van Dyke and temp. trades have installed over 90% of a new line after the last project was completely contracted out. Things are not perfect but in my opinion they are better than they were before.
  21. Anybody heard of any other recent trade postings? We have temp trades at Van Dyke that are looking for a perm. home.
  22. What plant are you from? How many machine rapair at Van Dyke did they post for?
  23. At Van Dyke a few production departments have been on the 4 crew for about a year and this past Monday they added 3 more production departments and the trades that support those departments. Trades are on a rolling 4 12's on 4 days off. It is causing a mass confusion because they are still trying to keep plant wide overtime with in the plant for trades.
  24. I'm sure you feel your justified being paid $28-$29 to put a couple bolts on a trans., engine or line. Take that same job outside of the big 3 and you might get paid $10-$12 and hour. I know the going rate for electricians outside of the big 3 is a couple dollars more and hour than we get paid. Oh and by the way if the company had there way they would pay us even MORE to pull our tool box up next to the machine so we can run it and fix it when it breaks which would run your lazy ass out the door. This is what IMT's is all about. Be careful what you wish for.
