  1. I see what you are saying BORG. For example, my Escape MFT display is high enough and to the right easily accessable. I think the overall size of the Conti's dash will dwarf the display. If it was higher and larger, it would probably resolve the access issue. Add a configerable HUD and you can filter the information feed as required. I just prefer it to be in the dash and console, not another motorized lift and sink tablet style seen as of late. IMO, it breaks up the outline and style and it comes off as a gimmick. Again, just MHO.
  2. Way too early to say. I get the feeling Lincoln won't have more sales then Escalade but maybe the ATP's will be better. That said, I don't think Lincoln again will not produce noticeably more units then what they are now.
  3. A bit of Land Rover (arguably LR and Explorer have more in common), a bit of Bentley without the large headlights. I don't know how I feel about this Navigator concept but it appears to aspire to a higher level than the Cadillac competition. I'm assuming the following: It's BOF based off the F Series platform or an improved current platform. I also think it will have the second generation EB 35 and 10 speed transmission. I have one peeve that makes me curse is the center console. Why do luxury cars mess up the pattern and lines by slapping a tablet there and calling it a day? Man alive that's lazy! Save the trouble and just put a charging station and the driver can place their own device. I am in a Jean-Luc gif WTF mood right now.
  4. I was just talking about looks and they are in the eye of the beholder. I wasn't criticizing or talking about the profitability of full size sedans at this juncture.
  5. Meh to each their own. I didn't think it was that bad. I felt it could be better but oh well, more attention to Continental.
  6. I think it's safe to say that it's been on the books for a while. We'll know soon enough.
  7. Welcome back. Good to see someone from the local area. Congratulations on your new Mustang. The waiting must be pretty painful.
  8. http://jalopnik.com/lets-try-something-car-designer-j-mays-specifically-tol-1723943395 Here's what it should look like
  9. I see what you mean and I understand it's and opinion piece. It's walks/talks like clickbait to get folks going and another slow news day to fire up the old IRS/Live axle debate. Let it go...let it go...
  10. http://www.autoblog.com/2016/03/16/sixth-generation-mustang-opinion/ I have no dog in this fight. I like Mustangs very much and have been honoured to ride and drive them. Personally, I like the direction Ford went with the Mustang. Personally, I don't share his opinion.
  11. When I see or hear the Mint 400, I think of Fear and Loathing in Las Vegas...lol.
  12. Are we calling it "Electric Lizzie"?...that's such a crap joke.
  13. Down the street, I have a neighbour who has one and yes it's different then the previous generations. I can agree you can't mistake it for anything else but a Civic. The strange thing is I like it better then the previous generations (they simply faded in the background) but I'm not sure how I feel about it. I prefer the Focus and Golf for example for the dare I say it "Conservative" look. The Civic reminds me of a design by committee that kind of worked (if that makes sense).
  14. http://jalopnik.com/the-2016-honda-civic-is-a-return-to-hondas-you-actually-1761164804 I'll give credit where it's due. Regardless of the sales, I regard the Civic to be the benchmark of the 'C' class. Although the front has the last generation Fusion front. It has all the tech toys which makes future buyers treat cars like the latest smartphone. I could argue that cars in general are getting too big for their size classes after all it's a 'compact' right? It does have an availible "EcoBoost" 1.5 I4. It hits the right points and there's a hatchback coming right? To compete, Ford's got it's work cut out for them. I'm not saying the Focus is bad because it's not IMO. It has a large competitor and I think Ford should keep up the good fight.
  15. I seems to me the EB35 is the heavy-hitter of the F-150 so maybe folks realize they don't need it and the EB27 is working just great for them. As for the EB35 going to the F-250, I hope so too.
  16. Fiesta was introduced in 2008 for MY 2009. It came to NA for MY 2011 in 2010. MCE was MY 2015. I have to say B and C are struggling because of gas prices more than anything else. It also doesn't change that B and C cars are big sellers around the world.
  17. I honestly think folks forget that companies are building multiple cars on the same platform. IIRC, Nissan has Sentra, Rogue, Juke (is there one more in there?) with some mild changes in size. I don't think there is any need for something between Edge and Escape. Frankly IMO, the interior dimensions are not that far apart.
  18. I sympathize with you in a lot of ways. I'm a Senators fan and after the 2007 Stanley Cup run, it hasn't been the same. Inconsistancy all around. I've had a soft spot in my heart for Chrysler and I feel they have a good product lineup. I can't help but think what would we have thought of Ford if they decided to just make Trucks and Mustangs? There was musing on these forums regarding that almost a decade ago. I also agree with your Sergio 'long con' statement. It appears that way that his Modus Operandi was to use Chrysler to sell Fiats in NA. In the name of all things holy WHY? Is there such a demand from the masses for them or is it more likely delusional thinking. It appears it is a niche market only for the 'A' platform 500 and a 'B/C' 500L (They are so Fugly but to each their own. Your money not mine). Alfa Romeo? Again WHY? Where is the demand when there is plenty of product that is most likely better. Heck Ford is leaving Japan and the reality is they are not popular there. So Chrysler is getting screwed again by upper leadership who is only using the resources instead of nuturing the company that has potential and that bugs me the most. Never wish for Daimler (Sergio Ver 1.0) or LUTZ! Man alive if you were my buddy across the table at the pub, I'd slap you. Out of love and friendship of course...snap out of it!
  19. Ford and Fiat collaborated on their 'A' class 500/Ka so this isn't new territory. Ford and Mazda worked well on the last 'B' platform and with Volvo the 'C' platform. Ford/GM JV transmissions have been pretty successful. So much so they are back at it. If there is to be future projects, I would probably want to work with Mazda again. Frankly I don't trust FCA as far as I can throw them.
  20. You know I am saddened to think someone somewhere is going to buy a Continental and put a f@+&ing vinyl roof on it.
