  1. you know, if the f100 is a no go, this just might be the one to replace the blazer go ford
  2. I am not totally opposed to that idea. I think Ford is going to need some help to stay viable. I am very worried about Ford. I think this thing with GM and Chrysler is a big deal.
  3. why have i not seen one postthis? what is to keep the big three from using that (loan) and i use that term loosely, from opening another plant somewhere then right here? I know everybody is concentrating on the 700 billion. but did this issue get lost in the loan approval. All I know is that went through fast. I think that question could be addressed to all three companies. just my thoughts and worries.
  4. guys, I love the Flex. I just think its a great car at the wrong time. In person it is pretty big. I think people are just really scared to buy right now. 30,000 plus is alot of money.
  5. fact of the matter is, Ford got everything they needed out of Volvo. its time for Volvo to go. Here in central New jersey what is killing Volvo is bmw. The bigger issue for Volvo is, I dont think even Volvo dealers know what do do with them. Almost every Volvo dealership is couples with other high end makes, Jag, Audi, and the like. Seems t me the only ones buying Volvo are the ones who alwayd bought Volvo. That is the biggest problem, no new traffic. Again my vote would be for Ford to concentrate on thier core buisness. just my thoughts
  6. is it possible that with the extension of the ranger, could that be the time, ford needs to in fact build the f100 where the ranger is built now? is this an option?
  7. i hope that the cougar now is thier plans. perhaps it wont have anything to do with mustang.
  8. folks, i like the fact that the camaro and challenger are coming out. perhaps ford will stay on thier toes when it comes to the mustang. nothing better then competition to get car companies off thier asses, and cars out there that people really want. i'm not an expert, but im willing to bet that the camaro is a winner. as a side note I am glad that america is putting out great cars, no matter who the manufacturer is.
  9. as you can see from my signature, i have a mustang, which i love. my only complaint is, no sunroof. why is it every other manufacture put sun roofs, intheir line. everything from a civic to trucks. i'm thinking that if you can get one in a civic, we should be able to get one in a mustang. i love convertibles. how ever like the security that a fixed top gives me. since I am just a fan, would any of you ford insideres be able to shed some lihjt on this topic. thanks
  10. I just moved from Columbus. While there Mark and his staff took care of our small fleet of Fords. I always enjoyed stopping there and chatting with the staff. As you said, the owner, Mark is a very smart man. He has a PHD, in buisness. Sorry to see him go.
  11. I just mentioned this in another thread. I just moved to central New Jersey from Columbus, Ohio. in my line of work, one of my many hats, i was the fleet manager. we had three Fords(Expedition, Explorer, and a Crown Vic.) I was very lucky to be able to deal with a local L/M dealership in Columbus, for our many needs, all the vehicles had at least 125,000 miles. my experience with the dealership was always a pleasure. However I hear that he was just bought out by Ford. The big problem is the Local Ford dealership is horrible with service. ford wont bye them out, they are huge. So, I understand, i am concerned in the direction that Ford is turning. I understand the buisness needs, but how about the human needs. do they not count any longer? I will now step off my soap box. thanks.
  12. sorry to say, but here in central Jersey, just saw an add for a local Ford dealer. 07 GM, 23,000 miles, $15,395.00. 07 Focus, 22,000 miles, $15,995.00. Ouch. Can it get any worse for Mercury? As a life time fan, I think its time for Mercury to go the way of Olds. Or give them some product, which I know is not going to happen. I just moved From Columbus, Ohio, and a well respected L/M just pulled the plug, took Ford's offer.
  13. am i the only one? or does the new focus scream escort? just a thought
  14. very nice looking car. as someone looking to replace my focus, i think Ford has done a very nice job.
  15. had a chance to talk to the owner of a Lincoln/Mercury dealer, here in the Columbus area. i was able to ask him about the future of Mercury, i would assume he would have more invested in it's future then us. He tells me that the plan is simply to increase volume with lincolns. He noticed I was less then excited by the proposition. As he said though, he sells more Lincolns now then Mercurys. He is worried about losing the Grand Marquis group, though. I own and drive Fords, but I go to him for service. Huge difference, in the service provided by him and the Closer Ford super Store near by. I think that this maybe the most conclusive info about the demise of Mercury. As someone who remembers the first Montego, and the Colony Park, both that special blue green hue, that my father drove, I will miss Mercury. I think however, even I know now its time.
  16. let me ask a question: do you think some fords sell because people know there is alittle volvo under them?
  17. ok guys, just some thoughts from a ford fan. weather we like it or not the honda and toyota is the bench mark. it seems to me if ford decides to target a car such as the accord, they should first get thier hands on the accord, and do everything that makes the ford better in every way, before they release the car. is that so wrong? i mean everything to include the interior. but ford seams to just throw out a car, knowing that it isnt the best. you cant blame the buyer for buying what they think is the best. at 20,000+, per car, that is alot of money. i am very worried about ford right now. so many issues, hitting them right now. i really hope they can recover. i was in detroit for a meeting, and all people were talking about was toyota, moving into michigan.not about ford or gm. again just some thoughts.
