  1. I am a daily visitor to this site. However since I am not a car expert per say, just a Ford fan, I dont comment often. However the I would like to add my condolences to the friends and family of Nick1011. The one thing about Nick, that I enjoyed, was even when he was responding to a novice, like myself, it was always with respect. Thanks Nick1011
  2. I know this is a little off subject, but Mustangs in Germany, got me thinking about my time in Germany. I was stationed in Hanau. Every barracks had what we called a barracks car. As a guy would go back to the states, he would sell this car to a new guy coming into country. Our barracks car was a Mustang 2. Red, white top. with an auto. I was the next in line, so I bought it. 500 bucks. Many trips to munich in that little car. oh the memories of Mustangs in Germany. Sorry just thought id share that with the group. Oh yeah sold it to the next guy for 500 bucks.
  3. Yes I am a member of the Ranger Mafia. I would like a small truck as my daily driver. However much of my travels takes me through downtown Columbus. So parking does become a issue. What I don't understand with this site is how condescending people can be here on this site. Just because a loyal Ford fan would like to see a new Ranger, they are shot down just because they think Ford should offer something besides the almighty F150.
  4. I visit this site often. Enjoy the dialog. I would like to give my opinion on Lincoln. I went to the Columbus Auto Show today. I didn't expect the size of the show. It was great. Ford had nice display. New Mustang and New F150, s you would expect. After ford I searched out Lincoln. To say I was disappointed would be an understatement. Off in the corner, bad lighting. If Lincoln is trying to reestablish the brand, they didn't do it there. It was if Lincoln was just an after thought. Chrysler had a huge display, Buick/GMC was nice. Cadillac display was bright, very welcoming. I say this because I would think an area like Columbus would be a great market for Lincoln. I really think someone, anyone would say this is not how we want Lincoln portrayed. Just my thoughts
  5. I think the only ones who might have a problem with the new direction are those folks that have not purchased a new Mustang in along time. Nothing wrong with memories, but memories dont sale new cars.
  6. Finally retired the Blazer, picked up a new to us, 2010 Sport Blue Fusion SE. What a huge improvement to the Blazer. Wish we would have done this a long time ago. My daughter has an 09 Fusion, we liked it so much that we decided to get one. Almost 30 miles to the gallon, vs, about 15. Looking foward to a trip to Florida in the spring in the new car. Pictures to follow.
  7. Here in Cleveland, they are going to make 4 and 6 engines at the Brookpark plant. Perhaps that will be where all the extra engines are coming from.
  8. Driving through Yuma Arizona, Pulled up next to a heavily camo pick-up. Several times I tried to get a better look. Four door, what looks to be just abit bigger then the current Ranger. What through me though was the bed. It look almost like a pre runner. Had Michigan plates. From what I could see, looks like a nice truck. I looked on line, and the images of the new Ranger, this was pretty close. I have a question for the experts here. Do the Toyotas and Nissans mules use Manufacture plates?
  9. WOW, NOW THAT SHOULD BE THE LINCOLN MKS AGAIN, WOW
  10. I really think you maybe missing the point. Maybe the Mercurys were Fords with fancy grills. However along with that fancy grill came the dealer, and the real or percieved service one got at the Mercury dealership. So maybe you did make up for the loss of Mercury, but those are still customers Ford may never get back.
  11. I have been satying in La Mesa for the last month or so. I see alot of Japanese cars, but what I also see is a ton of Mustangs. Every make, every color. I think I may end up buying one out here before I head back to Ohio
  12. you can pick up your vette at the factory. i think that is a great idea. the idea of a lincoln exclusive factory would work. lets the lincoln buyer how special they are.
  13. That is about where Mercury would sit. If Mercury would have survived, and money had been invested. I bet LIncoln dealers wish they still had thier Mercurys.
  14. That is exactly the experience you should not be having at a Lincon dealership. Lincon should be treating every customer like gold. The last thing they can afford is to lose even one customer. I know the Lexus dealer in cleveland gives you another Lexus as a loaner. Hmmm
  15. I like it, Even the color is easy to look at. I dont know the answer, is GMC sold outside Noth America? The reason I am asking, is I thought I read where there will be a GMC version of this.
  16. I agree with the blog and most of the following comments. I would suggest though a few issues I have with the Mustang, 2011 in particular. Granted a better car rhen 2010, but not where it matters to most people, the outside. I really think they should have made some cosmetic changes, for the average car shopper to see. I am sure most of you car nuts would know the difference, but would the average buyer see it. I still believe there needs to be a more price friendly model offered. I think alot of people would consider the mustang for a daily driver if they could get one at least in the teens. I know we dont want Ford to give them away, but would it not do Ford better if they could sale more? Just my thoughts
  17. if they can make a case for the Flex and the Lincoln version, they should be able to make a case for the Ranger.
  18. I really hope Ford reads these posts. If for no other reason, the the Ranger issue wont go away. whether you agree or disagree, that means there is interest in Ranger. I for one would love a new truck to replace both the Blazer and Escort. I do not need a truck, the size of the F150, give us the world Ranger, call it an F100. Thats all there is to it. I know, I dont know the buisness case behind not bringing the new Ranger to the biggest friggen market. I have to believe someone has a plan not to forgrt about us.
  19. My 2 cents: I think when Ford updated the engines in 11, they should have made some cosmetic changes also. I also think the price points are just a tad high. The Camaro is a serious problem, whether we want to admit it or not. The one thing Mustang always had in the past was less expensive version, so that first time buyers could actually afford a new mustang. I know, you can get a new Focus, not the same.
  20. i agree to a certain extent, however, many shoppers still cross shop cadillac and lincoln. i want people to think of lincoln and lexus or acura in the same vain. by the way, we live in akron right now, but lived in columbus for quite awhile, lived in new albany.
  21. Then why keep lincoln and kill mercury? maybe, just maybe ford is not real sure what direction to take lincoln. do they compete against cadillac. or lexus? quite different markets, i think and rebadging f150 and escapes as licolns, is not the answer.
