I think Ford needs to sell Mercury to another buyer like form China. Ford should also sell Lincoln as well to China. I think Ford should be just on brand. remember how the Subuaru Brat had seats in the pickup bed? Well I think Ford should offer some kinf of seats that fold flat into the pickup bed floor, sort of like the dodge fold and go! I think It will offer some flexability. Also I'd like to see some sort of optional power folding top from the a-piller to the tail gate that can let the next F-150 be either a pickup or a SUV looking type of car. All you do is have it go to this point and drop down for a pickup look or goto point b and have it drop down to the tail gate and thus you have the next Expedition. i think ford may come up with a new option for the drive wheels. There have been fwd, rwd,awd. I think ford may do something I like to call DiagDrive. That is were lets say the front drivers side wheel gets power and the rear passenger side tire gets power only. This can be done thanks to electric motors on the wheels. April 7, 2008 Ford announced that as part of its Way Foward Plan that it will bring back a historic nameplate to replace the Jaguar Brand that was sold to Tata Motors. The new Edsel division will be slotted above Lincoln. Lincoln will be the volume leader of the luxuary brands that Ford owns. As such Ford announced that Mercury will be phased out over the next three years. Edsel will have one car to start with at launch. This new car from what is currently knowen is that it will be based off the 2012 Ford Mustang Platform and will have independent rear on it. The car will come in both 2 and 4 doors. i think that the 2012 or 2015 f-150 will be front wheel drive so that ford can get the 35mpg standard. i think all cars will be fwd in the future. or they might be just a single wheel drive ie.. only the front left wheel has power to it.

well lets say that since we are getting the new 35mpg cafe and it seems gm is going mostly 4cyl even in the camaro (think 1984 3rd generation) and the 4cyl will be in just about evey car including the g8 from pontiac, i am thus sure ford would be doing the same things by using 3 and 4 cyl and maybe a 6 cyl as the top dog, i would think ford would make this with a 4cyl twin force, 2 wheel drive and made out of yet unheard of materials to make the new bronco light weight. ps. lets have ford make it into a hummer with a v-16 and twin force induction in it!!!! then i will purchase 12,000 of them for $1 each.... and i want it to get 50mpg

Chevy will kill its version of the Ford Explorer the Chevy Trail Blazer by about 2010 or so and wont replace it. So will Ford also kill of the Explorer which is also based off the Ranger which is getting killed off.

Americans will not get the next generation Mondeo or the Focus. And the current North American Focus has nothing to do with the current 2nd generation European Focus that is just comming out in Europe. Also the next North American Fusion and Mazda 6 will be based off the current platform which will have nothing in common with the European versions. The platforms will not converge until after 2010 at the earliest for the next North American Focus. I say Ford needs to get its spending under control and let the bean counters run the company so that they dont over spend, Ford needs to stick with what it has for now and later merge all Seven Ford operations (Brazil, Europe, Austrila, Etc) into one company so what is in North America (N.A.) is also in China (each can have a little bit of difference like spring rates). First rumor is the next generation of the Ford Falcon from Austrlia. However since Ford had to mortage even the light bulbs I would not count on any new Rear wheel drive products. Now Ford could do a cheap redo of the DEW98 platform that the Mustang is on perhaps for a small or mid size rear wheel drive car. But other then The F-series I cant see Ford spending any money on a completly new platform. I would work for Ford to become debt free first. Have them maybe share some Jag stuff and sell everything but Ford Mercury and Lincoln and just have them forget the rest they cant afford it. As Dave Ramsey would say if you have a car sell it to get debt free and buy some $200 piece of junk and use it until you build wealth.
