  1. At KTP we get Gatorade and or water if the temp is over 90degrees.... We do not get heat breaks every hour or anything else. Our heat index has been over 110 already this year and our temps will be 97,100 and 102 wext week and thats not heat index.
  2. All workers and there is a union meeting on tuesday with more details..
  3. Guys and Gals Louisville's first annual Foundation for Fighting Blindness Vision Walk will be held on Oct 31,09 down on the river. Sign ups start at 9am and the walk starts at 1030. The Foundation raises money for research that is working towards a cure for blindness. They have raised over 350 million so far. I have been at KTP for 13yrs and my wife has been losing her vision for the last 5yrs and shes only 34. I have started to hang posters up at KTP but if anyone would like to help out or get there own team started, let me know or go to visionwalk.org and click on Louisville. You can start your own team and have people sign up under you. Anybody that has a small business that would like to help sponsor the walk the first level is only 250. 500 will get your company logo on all the walk T-shirts. I have all the details if anyone is interested. Check the attachment for details. Thanks Any help you can give would be Great !!
  4. They must not want to many more people gone because I asked the union leadership monday If I could still sign up for a buyout and was told NO and that Ford was done with them. They did say that it may be brought back after the Aug 25 meeting with Ford.
  5. We were told week of july 20 and the week of july 27. Its in writing and was said at the Union meeting
  6. I was told tonight by one of our B.C. that Legal only cost the company .10 of our hourly wage. Thats only 4.00 a week when we work 40hrs. Take it please and fight for something else.
  7. lquidspine your 1-4 points are correct. I am an Inspector, I do have the time to get a fork job, I have not been moved yet and there are Many people that have less time that are already gone to a fork job. My merit is fine, never been to labor or been written up and I can do the job. So this should cross off the Merit and Ability issue. I do not know if its an promotional or non promotional job. They are saying that the extra 40 over bid people would go back to the line because they were already replaced by new people. They bid out inspector jobs that have been filled to replace the inspectors that are leaving. They cant stop the bleeding so their going a head with all the bids and then cut the 40 heads back to work available.
  8. This is what I heard last night. HR took 40 people to many and thats it. There saying they don't need 40 MH jobs now. Just asking if anybody else heard this or knows whats going on.
  9. There is a rumor going around KTP and I wanted to see if anyone knows how this would work. We had a couple hundred jobs go up for bid before Christmas. The rumor is that the company over bid jobs by about 40 people. So 40 people bid but theres not a job for them. They are saying that if any of the 40 people that they cut already have bid jobs that they will lose there old bid and go to work available. Can they really do this. I am a inspector that hasn't been called for my new bid job but many with less time have already started. The 40 extra people are for Fork Lift jobs. Can they say that I got a fork job and to report to MH but in a day they cut 40 people out and then I go back to the line? This doesn't sound right to me. Thanks
  10. The phone call I got said that if I signed up for system fill to report the 26th. 6am for day shift and 11:30 for night shift. Not everyone is to report on the 26th ONLY the ones that signed up for System Fill. Evryone else is due back the 2nd at 6am or 4:30PM.
  11. You can't say Kerry would have given GM the money 3 months ago. His dumb butt didn't even vote on the senate bill. Alot of Dems didn't even vote for the bailout and even more voted NO !! What should have happened is the gov should have let GM and Chr GO under!! NO question. Their business plan sucks and they will not recover. The 18bil should have been used to support the remaining suppliers so Ford would not go under and give Ford the opportunity to us some money if needed. The gov should then have went to the transplants and their governments and asked for money to help the supply base. They need the supply base just as much as us. This would protect the tax payers and make Ford a even stronger company.
  12. Bardstown, Ky is my pick of places to live. I lived there for 5yrs before moving to the city. It is 40miles to KTP. Land and homes are cheaper then Taylorsville, Mt Washington. If you don't mind driving and want a even smaller town with good school and lots of good hunting try Springfield or Lebanon. About an hour drive to Springfield and around 1:15 to Lebanon. I grew up in Lebanon until moving to Bardstown and then Louisville. If anyone needs a realitor let me know have some good friends that could help you out.
  13. I will Welcome the guys and gals. But I hope everyone understands that most of us aren't mad because your coming down but because your local and international worked this all out and didn't include our local until after the deal was done. Also, we have alot of questains and our local can't seem to answer them . 1st we have been hearing that you guys will be coming and we can't bring back the 100 of our guys that are laid off. 2nd you guys will take our jobs and we will get laid off 3rd if we go back to 2 crews they are saying that you guys can fill the entire shift and we get left out in the cold. We don't have any answers right now and we don't know how this is going to work. The Nav and EXP will add jobs in our old trim shop and some on frame and chassis. So do you guys fill only those jobs or anybody that signs up will come down. We haven't heard anything about this stuff. If you guys dont mind the drive move to Bardstown 40miles away. Great schools and wonderful town!! Have you guys heard when your coming??
  14. I love Labor Day and I believe it should be a part of us but all these people are doing is taking the same paid day on another day. If we in Louisville were asked to do this for Derby Day or Oaks it would pass in a short minute. We are already off because of the 4days but if we weren't. Whats the difference between that and what is going on in Tenn? Or if a plant in NYC,DC or Penn wanted off Sept 11 every year instead of Labor Day. As long as the employees of each plant gets to vote then who cares. Its there plant so let them decide what they want. Also, last time I checked not all Muslims hate the USA or the people that live here just like not all white people are racist or all black people steal or that all FORD employees are Lazy. We would not want people from outside our plant tell us how to run our union or tell us want to do. Just a thought ..
  15. So are the new SUVs going to be built on line 1 or 2 or both. I heard they can't be built on line 1 because of the gantry. Is this true? And I don't think its like the excursion because we had all that free space on A wall. If we use the current fame lines it looks like we would have some down time. Aslo, how many jobs will be added to build the SUVs.
  16. In the letter from Scott, he talks about the new MOD Center. What is this?? Explain Please Thanks
  17. Hey guys and gals, heres was I've got on this. If we at KTP run 3 crews 10hrs a day 90jph. Thats 900 a shift But lets say 800 a shift with down time and lunch. That would be 6 days a week with 2 crews and 1 shift on sunday night. Lets say 10,200 units a week this number could be high or in the middle depending how well we run. After Vacation and holidays whats that 6 weeks off a year? Give or take!! Thats 46 weeks of work Xs 10,200 units a week = 475,200 Trucks a year. We cant do much more then that. Plus Ford will leave a little unused Capacity for an upswing in the economy. Thats all I have
  18. As of today our boss said everything is still a go and that our new SD will not be delayed. I work on the IPF line and thats all we have heard.
  19. I guess my problem along with most of the plant is we don't see or hear what happens behind closed doors. We have only what we hear and encounter on the line. Thats where the Epperson running to save his job came to me, on the LINE, where most of our union is not located. They do not give us the information we need to make a informed decision. I thought Royce would have been a better BC instead of FIN SEC but was told that wasn't a non layoff job so he choose Fin Sec. We can only make decision with what we hear and know and to be fair that is very little info. And the way our union throws money away it seems that none of them care about our future. How can we decide whos best for our union when we see these people once every couple of years to hand me a flyier and seem to get upset when we stop them to ask them a questain. And the same people on this forum to take up for them and say FK YOU to people because they are so far up their a#$. These people don't know what we do everyday because the haven't worked on the line or done any job that doesn't include union business. Get off your high horse and come see what we normal non appointed union workers do every day. And we wonder why our union has zero respect form the big 3 or even our home towns. Stop trying to save only your butts and work for the good of everybody !!!!!
  20. Thats great !! You think his pay is bad? Try the person running against him has 98 senority and the only reason hes running is because the Fin Sec position is a Non layoff job. He would keep working while people with 96 or 95 senority are at home drawing 85% pay !! There both a Joke !!!!
  21. During the tornado a couple weeks ago and they were touching down all over the city, we were still making trucks and not moved into the Admin building like we should have been. Also, Ford came out and told the media that all the workers were moved to safty during the storm. So the company lied to save face. Also, i dont understand how days could be cancelled and not nights because of the snow. I live 15 miles from the plant and it took me almost 2hrs to get there and was still T coded. I got home easier at 5am then driving in for the shift start at 630pm but days didnt work (1.7hrs) that doesnt work for me. Our plant is ass backwards and regardless of who the BC is we are done. XOXOXO
  22. Everyone is talking like 96jph is a dream off both chassis lines but we are already running that and some hours even more then 96. Guys from Trim said they are even running at 98% for a whole shift. The chassis lines stay backed up because Toe-In and Rolls are always backed up. The CAL line gets backed up which then backs up Rolls, then Toe-In and finally Chassis. thats our problem right now in final just my penny worth of info
