  1. I realize that, and I realize its the same thing that everyone else around here does. I also realize that I am not the only person who shares that opinion because I've read the numerous posts regarding the matter. I think it might be obvious that Ford realizes it too or they wouldn't be changing the front end so soon.
  2. I know the sales numbers are good right now but the fact of the matter is that there have been a lot of misgivings expressed about the look of the new Mustang, particularly with respect to the front end. It's widely discussed on a lot of the Mustang forums with the exception of Mustang 6G where they absolutely do not tolerate anything but praise for the car lol. At any rate, I'm not surprised that Ford is looking to change the look of the car and especially the front end because it has been a source of criticism from a lot of Mustang fans and owners, myself included. I have owned three Mustangs but I wouldn't buy the current model because to me the front end just looks like a whale shark. It is not attractive at all. I've even driven the car in both ecoboost and V6 configurations and there is no doubt that it drives nice, handles great, has great feature content and yet despite all that I would have no interest in buying one because the front end is just so ridiculous.
  3. I have full intentions of driving the 2.7 version of the truck but I would prefer a work truck. I don't really want or need a lot bells and whistles. Been there and done that. I would rather have a basic truck and then add the features I want via the aftermarket. When the work trucks start hitting the lot here I'll go and check one out.
  4. Thus the advantage of driving a cab over design. I wonder if Ford has ever considered offering a cab over in their commercial truck offerings.
  5. Woe, woe, woe the heck down akirby. That is exactly the sort of post that you shut down a whole section of this forum over. Get back on the commercial truck topic. If you want to talk politics take it over to off topic buddy.
  6. It was definitely an ecoboost. I remember the badging and the boost gauge info on the little center screen of the instrument cluster. It was an FX4 package so pretty well optioned out. Had to have been the 3.5 and the guy just said 2.7. Eighty percent of car salesman don't know crap about their own products.
  7. Salesman must have lied then. I never looked under the hood. It was definitely a 2014. Either way, I wouldn't use a sport mode in a pickup. It must have been the 3.5 because I distinctly remember some sort of ecoboost gauge.
  8. Actually i already drove a 2.7 in regular cab 4WD configuration (2014 model). It had plenty of power on its own. I couldn't see me ever using a sport mode in it.
  9. Corporations do not believe in "minimal price hikes". They believe in the maximum price hike they figure you'll pay and when it comes to gasoline they know you'll pay regardless because you have to have it. There is no need to get rid of 87 octane in favor of some higher octane blend. It works just fine.
  10. Personally I'm not a fan of the new front end language. It reminds me of something from my childhood.
  11. The one constant in the business world is that if a business can find any excuse (legitimate or not) to raise the price of their product, they will raise the price of their product. Making 95 octane the sort of entry level grade of gas to replace 87 octane will result in higher gas prices right out of the gate and probably a good bit higher. So I have little doubt that the petrol industry will be only to happy to go along with this idea. They're well aware that gasoline is not exactly a product the consumer world can walk away from if it gets too expensive. We currently have cars getting upwards of 40 mpg on 87 octane, I personally don't see the need here.
  12. I guess you might want to go back and read the whole thread before tossing out accusations about who or what I am. As I have stated several times I see no problem with hunting for those that hunt for the meat and organs of an animal. The problem is with people who just want to kill something for fun. It's disgusting, no matter what anyone tries to claim, it is flat out disgusting. Yes I have served my country in fact, I'm a proud prior service member of the US Army, and no I am not an Obama supporter and I own my own home. So you pretty much got everything wrong, again. Killing an animal just to kill something is vile and disgusting no matter what anyone may try to claim to otherwise justify it.
  13. Being "legal" and being "right" are not always the same thing. In Pakistan about 1000 women are killed annually in "honor killings" and its all "legal." Sooner or later people have to evolve past their disgusting habits. Killing an animal just for the sake of killing it is the behavior of vile trash that has no place in a modern society. No amount of justification or "legality" will ever change that.
  14. Killing animals just to kill them is the behavior of disgusting trash. Just saying.
  15. I get the impression Ford wants to use the Ecoboost in the Raptor.
  16. You just have to laugh at the irony of someone who calls a lion a dumb ass and yet can't figure out how to start a sentence with a capital letter, or that stepped should have been used in place of step, or how to spell the word preserve. Oh and let's not forget that he should have started a new sentence with the word "once". Yes sir you have certainly made a good representation of the sort of knuckle dragging sort that put the heads of dead animals on the walls of their homes.
  17. F150s have a 4 Low mode or just 4 High? I would hope they disable the sport mode while the truck is in 4 Low to prevent people from damaging their drive line.
  18. Now the flat plane crank engine in the F150 would be interesting but I wonder if that engine would be as good at towing or hauling as a more conventional crank motor?
  19. I guess that wasn't clear enough. But back on topic, I wonder if they will offer this sport mode in the 4WD models and how that will work out?
  20. The only one with his draws in a knot about this is you. You just can't let it go can you?
  21. I'm frankly not clear on why anyone here is so worried about what I think about it. I said what I think, you guys say what you think, case closed. None of us is going to change the others mind so arguing back and forth about it isn't going to resolve anything.
  22. Just because a lot of people like it doesn't make it not a gimmick. It's a gimmick. I couldn't care less what you or the rest of the world think about it. That's what I think about it and no amount of objection on your part is going to change my mind.
