  1. It looks like camry owners don't like consumer reports either. http://www.toyotanation.com/forum/showthread.php?t=214936 It also amazes me as you read through the tread how some are complaining about problems but because it's Toyota it's OK.
  2. The tuninng nob on the right side of the radio says "OK" on the inside. You can push it in but I am not sure what it does. I could not find anything in the owners manual. Anyone have any idea what it does?
  3. MyPart, Thanks for the information. I will probably go with the Husky liner. I actually ordered the Ford liner but did not take it because it required triming the liner and there are two square cut outs for floor hooks which are on the regular Escape but not on the hybrid. This leaves some of the carpet exposed and takes away some of the floor space.
  4. We have an 08 FEH 4wd with 1200 miles on it. Suburban driving (not realyy highway or city) we are averaging about 28 mpg.
  5. Is this a fleet price? Ford web site still shows starting price of $25,075 for front wheel drive. Total price compared to my Escape Hybrid which was special ordered and delivered in July is only $190 more or is the web site not properly updated yet?
  6. I am sorry if my post was confusing. I did realize this is an edge forum. I posted the original response based on the fact that we are talking about a feature that is on my car and will be on the 2008 edge. Originally I thought the ignition was the way it was because of the fact that the car is a hybrid. After reading this thread and doing some research I realized it is also on the standard version Mariner as indicated by the statement below and will be on additional models as well. "Mariner is one of the first Ford Motor Company vehicles to feature One-Touch Integrated Start. This feature lets the driver put the key in the ignition, turn it once and then let go - like electronic “start” buttons that are becoming common on luxury cars." This was a discription of the regular Mariner not a hybrid.
  7. This sounds exactly like what I have on my 2008 escape hybrid. You put the key in the ignition, turn the key and iinstantly let go. There is a delay for a second or two and then the engine starts o it's own. You do not hold the key until the engine starts. It feels strange at first until you get used to it. Here is a description from an article about the 2008 Mariner: Mariner is one of the first Ford Motor Company vehicles to feature One-Touch Integrated Start. This feature lets the driver put the key in the ignition, turn it once and then let go - like electronic “start” buttons that are becoming common on luxury cars.
  8. I am very happy with my Ford dealer. It is why I have just bought my 4th car from them. I just had my new Escape in the service department for a loud creak in the rear. It took them a week and a half of working on the car on and off to find the creak. They gave me a loaner and did not give me the car back until they found it. I made sure that I told them several times how much I appreciate the time they spent trying to locate the creak which turned out to be in the control arm. I believe the dealer makes all the difference in the world. It doesn't matter if you have the best car in the world, if the dealer does not provide good service then you won't buy that car again.
  9. Does anyone have experience with cargo liners for the 2008 Escape Hybrid. I am trying to determine the difference between the Ford liner and the Huskey liner. I know that the Ford liner only comes in black while the Husky comes in three colors. I am wondering how they fit. The liner in the Ford catalog does not look like it form fits to the cargo area.
  10. I ordered a FEH on 5/29. The vehicle was delivered to the dealer on 7/10. I picked up the car a few days later. I was originally told 10 -12 weeks as well. I don't know if this is typical or I just got lucky. I received the VIN# a couple of weks after it was ordered.
  11. You should be able to get a build date if you request it on the Ford Locator Forum which is under the Ford Employee Forum. You need to give them the vehicle VIN number and they can look it up.
  12. I am happy to see that Ford was proactive in fixing the problem, what ever it may have been. It shows that Ford is trying to build on the safety of it's cars and I certainly appreciate that. I think that safety is a big issue and could cause someone to choose or not choose a car based on the cars safety ratings.
  13. Per NHTSA web site the driver front crash rating was updated from 3 stars to 4 stars for 2008 Escapes built on or after June 6, 2007. Any idea what changed to allow the 4 star rating?
  14. I was just looking at the driver crash results listed by NHTSA. It stated that early release was 3 stars and later release is 4 stars for the driver side frontal crash. 4 Stars for vehicles produced after June 6. This includes all versions of the Escape.
  15. I am sorry that you have had a bad experience with your dealer. I have had some bad experiences as well with some of dealers that I have dealt with. But I have been with my current Ford Dearler, Holman Ford for about 12 years. I am always there since I have two Ford vehicles and have them serviced exclusively by the dealer. They have not always fixed something on the first try but I feel that they do their best and they have always made things right. They are not cheap but I feel that they are honest about the work that they do. I have even noticed on the new car lot that if a car needed some body work due to damage during delivery it is fully disclosed including the cost to repair. What I am trying to say is that I think the dealer makes all difference in the world when it comes to having your car service and whether or not you will by the next one from them.
  16. I believe the navigation includes the audiophile radio.
  17. I went with the hybrid. I heard a news report this morningthat the price of gas is not comming down much more than it is now. I expect in the future it will just go up. I ordered mine from the dealer on 5/29. I expect it to be in the week of 7/9. I thiink that if you get the premium package and compare the price to a limited Escape, taking into account the tax credit the price is not much different.
  18. I ordered one that I believe was built this past saturday 6/24/2007. The Dealer told me that the only way to get one now was to order it. Anyway can anyone tell me if it will show up in the online inventory of the dealer prior to them actually receiving it which is scheduled for the week of July 9th? I am hoping that it will actually come in the week before.
  19. Selling your car privately does not result in federal income tax unless you sell it for more than you paid for it which is very unlikely. Since you can not take a loss for a sale of a personal asset it would not be reportable on your federal tax return.
  20. Thanks for the reply. You would think a safety item such as that would be on the window sticker. The one on my Windstar has saved me several times. By the way how do you like your hybrid?
  21. According to the brochure and the order guide the premium package includes the reverse sensing system. I just got th ewindow sticker for the vehicle that I ordered from the vehicle locator forum. It has the premium package but does not list the reverse sensing system. Did ford change the specs and remove the sensing system from the package?
  22. Here is a link to a ford fleet web site. It had some (but not all) information about the 2008 edge. https://www.fleet.ford.com/showroom/2008fle...m/2008-Edge.asp
  23. Write-ups on the Ford Flex talk about a White Suede roof color.

    2008 Edge

If I go with a 2007 I will probably get the cream Brulee. It's just a little more yellow looking than I would like and white is mt favorite color. If it's only a tire change in regards to the brakes than that is certainly not a reason to wait for the 2008 model year especially since there really hasn't been any talk on these boards as far as I can tell concerning any first year major issues with the Edge. It seems like Ford has done a great job with this car as they have with the Fusion in regards to quality.

    2008 Edge

Does anyone know exatly what changes are being made to the brakes? I am also hoping that white is offered as a color in 2008. The salesman I go to at my Ford dealer told me that he should know what the model changes are in April.
