  1. Man wahrheit! You seem to be the most company union person on this sight! DO you ever act to the benefit of you brothers and sisters???
  2. I have learned over the weekend that Ford has informed union contractors to prepare their bids for the OHAP expansion. Just this week the new fire lines into the plant were approved. Time will tell, but I think OHAP will be fine.
  3. :reading: SUB has always been a limited fund from which we draw income. In the late 70's and early 80's when things got very tough also, SUB was distributed proportionately amongst the ranks. This was to protect the fund so that it would not completely be exhausted and be there in case of dire straights. This being if it got so bad higher seniority employees would have the benefit too. They were taking up to 5 credits from you depending on your seniority. If you were called back to work credits would begin to replenish themselves. So don't count on SUB always being because it was not designed for a long term program. SUB was instituted for a remedy to short term unemloyment and a way to deter the workforce from leaving the company. If not the turnover rate within the workforce would create problems with stability on the job. Leading to terrible qaulity and high absenteeism.
  4. Screw you Fatso! Those retirees paid for the retirees ahead of them too! Leave the retirees alone, along with future retirees!
  5. Again, legacy costs play a huge roll in the costs of these vehicles. I truly believe that when the UAW takes control of these issues there will be a dramatic turn in profits for the company. Hopefully a "bridge loan" will take pressure off and allow them to move through this recession. I wonder where the Toyotas and Hondas of the U.S. will be, in let's say 20 twenty years, when these costs hit there pocketbooks? Will they cut and run? I think it will be very interesting when that time comes. We may hear the cry of "organize". Anyway, we need to stand together and carefully tread this water we have been set to swim in. There will more talk of "givebacks" and so on. Some, that in reality, may need to be considered by us for PR sake or truly finacial reasons. I understand the feelings of all of us to just turn a cold shoulder and say no. As a proud auto worker and UAW member, I feel we need to project ourselves as an avenue of hope to the future instead of the detriment that many seem to think. Remember, we will have few friends among the rich and hauty of wall street and the republican senate for all that matters. To them we are only a necessary evil to bring them DOLLARS! They can care less about our future or our families. Amongst all of this, be confident, remain strong, but also keep your minds open to all and anything that may be said or brought to our attention. We not only need some monetary help, but also I am convinced we will be called on to make crucial and hopefully wise decisions in regard to our future. God Bless America and Our UNION!
  6. Last I knew if buy a Fusion the money is in Ford's pockets not in S.Korea(KIA) or Honda(Japan). Take a step up and buy a Taurus then! I think our union has to demand more products to stay here. Especially with the new contract and the lower wage for new hires.
  7. It is my understanding that OHAP will also run E-Series cutaway along with the transit. The only thing needed for the body is the current buck we already run with. All this is speculative, but from what I see and have been told that's what is going to happen. For all you Lorain and OHAP runaways, you keep wishing for our closing and your gain. OHAP is a very productive and quality assertive plant. We welcome the Transit and will make as popular as the Econoline with our workmanship! We wish you all well and with all of our pride and workmanship Ford will succeed. One Union...One Ford!
  8. You are right on the money Furious! We have to set aside our political views and band to gether to keep on producing top quality vans. The future is ours and I think we will turn the corner and see our announcement of a new product this summer. Times are tough and we must do our very best to drive quality into our vehicles. Any competitive niche we can get would be a plus. Roll Ohio Assembly! :happy feet:
  9. Don't waste your time voting on Piscione. I never did like his Fonzarelli attitude he has displayed for years. Your opinion of him seems right on the money from when I remember his representation. Also, as far as Irsh Dad goes, I think he's worried about his appointed job!
  10. Allan M ought to practice a little belt tightening of his own! For him to make such a comment after acceptong 30+ MILLION $$$ is ludicrous! Also, his comment about a CEO's pay is dertermined by the market and not want to pay workers what is determined by the price of their vehicles is outrageous. We'll all have to wait and see what happens in the upcoming days regarding our negociations. I think there will be a settlement achieved without a strike. 30% cuts won't matter if there is a strike they cannot survive!
  11. For all who were upset with Jerry's appointment of Mary way back.....I told many in the plant at the time...If she is working you are working so why worry about it! Did you really want to be Jerry's secretary?? It was a shame that Jerry was defeated over this. He is one the few, if any visionaries, we have at the plant. His leadership is sorely missed and will be a great value added commodity to our structure when re-elected. To not re-elect him over that issue was petty and not very smart. What happened to the seniority appointments that brother Kruse was making such an issue with so he could gain office? Certainly there were alot more senior people than what were appointed! Also, the senior people who worked so hard to get all of the others to vote Kruse. I see they got there jobs in clean-up and else where right after the demise of Villager. The others got there line jobs in Econoline after Escape! LOL! Kenny took care of you! All the politics aside, we need to vote for the person who can lead to the future and not hold us to the status qou we have. Jerry is that man! He lives for this local! Even with all this aside, OHAP is a great place to work. It's provided a living for me for 33 years! God Bless all of you union brothers and sisters!
