Again, legacy costs play a huge roll in the costs of these vehicles. I truly believe that when the UAW takes control of these issues there will be a dramatic turn in profits for the company. Hopefully a "bridge loan" will take pressure off and allow them to move through this recession. I wonder where the Toyotas and Hondas of the U.S. will be, in let's say 20 twenty years, when these costs hit there pocketbooks? Will they cut and run? I think it will be very interesting when that time comes. We may hear the cry of "organize". Anyway, we need to stand together and carefully tread this water we have been set to swim in. There will more talk of "givebacks" and so on. Some, that in reality, may need to be considered by us for PR sake or truly finacial reasons. I understand the feelings of all of us to just turn a cold shoulder and say no. As a proud auto worker and UAW member, I feel we need to project ourselves as an avenue of hope to the future instead of the detriment that many seem to think. Remember, we will have few friends among the rich and hauty of wall street and the republican senate for all that matters. To them we are only a necessary evil to bring them DOLLARS! They can care less about our future or our families. Amongst all of this, be confident, remain strong, but also keep your minds open to all and anything that may be said or brought to our attention. We not only need some monetary help, but also I am convinced we will be called on to make crucial and hopefully wise decisions in regard to our future. God Bless America and Our UNION!
