Well poo.....after poking and prodding I snapped open the connector for the throttle valve and tried to pull it off. It didn’t want to come and I didn’t want to break it so I wiggled it and shoved it back on then snapped the red clip. Jumped in and just before leaving gave it one more try. Right to the floor and crank and it started like a flooded engine with a carb. A couple revs and it cleaned out and ran fine. Shut it off, fired right back up. Did a diagnostic check and no codes, nothing wrong, just like normal. Aaarrrggg!!!! No idea what was wrong or what fixed it. Now I’m concerned it’ll poo the bed in the future...

I checked out that tsb and it says that includes vehicle with the following codes.....but mine isn't kicking a code. I'll go back and see if there is any burnt marks or anything like the tsb says but I think its fine. More info; I've been beating my head against the wall because the cam/crank is not in sync. Well I just cranked the engine over and the scanner is saying they are in sync now. Shut the key off and it goes out but as soon as it starts cranking the sensors go in sync. I'll assume relieving tension when not cranking lets it slowly go out of sync but oil pressure from cranking puts it back in. Anyway, that was a false flag. Can I pull a spark plug, hook up the coil pack and see if I get a spark or will it hurt something? I started to pull the plug a minute ago and it felt...bad...like threads coming off so I stopped and screwed it the 1/4 turn back in. Might be fine but to me it felt way bad. Metal plug and aluminum head I just went AHH! and stopped. After sitting for several hours I tried it and it rolled and gave a couple kicks and then just went on turning over with no more kicks. Oh, don't know if I mentioned it but as I was cranking it over I gave it a shot of quick start and not a kick. That's why I'm guessing no spark. AARRGG! Buy a newer vehicle for the first time and also for the first time in my life I can't fix it. Man I'm frustrated! I have to head home now but I'll be back in the shop here tomorrow morning I guess. Gotta get this fixed, have WAY too much on the go for my truck to be down. Called the dealership and they're booked right out to next Friday. Thanks for the response, I'll check fuse 27 and get back to you. Any other things I could look for?

Drove to work today, when I came out to leave I hit the key and it rolled over but wouldnt start. Just past 50,000kms on it. Pushed it in the shop and checked all fuses, all good. Remembered that this morning when I fired it up it stumbled like lack of fuel for a second then drove to work fine, so I jumped the fuel relay and pump ran fine. Pulled a fuel line too and fuel poured out. Hooked up the scanner and everything is good and then I saw crank and cam sensor in sync....no. I saw the check engine light come on (Koeo) then cranked it and the check engine light went out. This indicates the pcm is getting a signal from the crank sensor. So, Im thinking maybe the cam sensor is bad? Checked and there are 4 of them mounted on the back of the heads between the engine and the firewall. So, my question; Does this sound like a cam sensor issue or am I missing something? Like I said, it stumbled in the morning and it did that a couple days/a week ago. Fired up cold and stumbled then came up to normal idle speed and drove normal the rest of the day. Its Just before Christmas and the truck cant be down, so if I dont figure this out quick Ill have to swallow my pride and take it to the dealership. Any techs on here have an idea or seen this before?

I have a 2011 f150 now with the 3.7 and after my 93 7.3 diesel one ton I thought I'd be struggling with the loads I haul. Nope, it's really quite a work truck. 1.75 yards of wet dirt (scaled at 6100 lbs..oops) hauled no problem. Yes I abuse my trucks. But the capability of the newer trucks is getting ridiculous! What's next, 600hp and 50,000 towing capacity? Oh and 40mpg too! Wow!

I picked up a 2011 with 27,000km's on it. (what's that 15,000miles or so?) Second vehicle of an old couple who lived on a farm near by. Newer ones have it? Great! So in 10 years or so when I buy another used truck it should have it then? LOL! Actually I already told the wife if ford does build a diesel half ton I'll buy it (new! gasp!). I don't need a one ton anymore as I have a converted "skoolie" motorhome/race car hauler, so the truck wouldn't have to haul a race car or slide in camper. Diesel in 2018? When it happens I'll believe it, until then I'm still waiting. Seems perfect though, a half ton with a manual tranny and a diesel that will run on veggie oil or furnace oil or...what?....

Had a long post and it disappeared...AAARRRGGG!!! Anyhoo...the gist of it was, 1) I want a rocker switch on the gearstick to manually control the tranny. (I have the tow/haul mode on the f150 I just picked up and it works great, but...I want better control for hills. Don't like the truck slowly picking up a bit of speed and just before the hill levels out it drops a gear and shoots the rpm to 4500 or so. I would let it go a bit faster and let the rpm creep up to 3000 or so instead) 2) Manual transmission, this would be even better, stick a 5-10 spd manual tranny in a f150 again. (yeah I know not many people want it, bite me) 3) Since it's my thread, I'll throw this out too, a small diesel! A buddy has a dodge diesel half ton and it gets like 32mpg all the time, yes it's not a rocket, but I don't want a rocket. My 7.3 was 175hp and in a 4 door f350 with a slide in camper pulled the mustang just fine. (kept the speed limit) You don't need 4-500hp in a half ton pick up! Sure a one ton that "might" haul 35,000lb's, but a half ton? 300hp would be lots for me.

Well since the latest fix it's been ok...Fordtech, drive it hard helps eh? Sounds good to me, you might get a call from my wife though! LOL! (seriously dear, it was suggested on a ford forum.....) Getting rid of the edge, I want a truck, can't believe it's been 6-8 months without one....Can't wait for the diesel f150 to come out so I'll probably swap for a 2011-13 truck. (with 8ft box!!!!!! pet peeve all these useless trucks with 5ft boxes, dumbasses are driving a car with an open trunk!)

All I know is I see rwd chargers/challengers/sport pickups/etc coming out of mopar and I scratch my head and wonder why ford has the mustang...that's it...Yes there are some raptors driving around so I'll give them that, but it just seems mopars are painted brighter colours and are more in tune with performance. I don't care how fast/quick an interceptor is (and they certainly are) all I see is fwd fords poking around while other makes have several "sporty" type vehicles. Yes the charger is junk...but they sure have a following! Same as the jeep, why the hell is ford not building the bronco yet? ranger, same thing In theory you can get a rs focus...never saw anything like that around here, dealerships included. I don't care if it's a hot hatch or a larger performance vehicle or hell even a performance option on all fords! A Fusion gt? And not a freaking paint job but actual performance parts! Hey guys, anybody who knows me knows I'm a pro-ford "fanboy". That said...wife bought a 2013 focus with the stupid dual clutch crap, after 51,000km's there was a faint oil leak from the bellhousing and it shudders going into 2nd gear. Took it in under warranty and they replaced the tranny input seal, replaced the clutches, everything is great.....now it's a year later and it's got around 90,000 and it's doing the exact same thing. Add to it, when it rains the "thumb print" thing on the door to lock it doesn't work and the rear hatch must be clicked twice to open as the first time it unlocks and grabs as if the actuator is out of adjustment. So, have an appointment for the 29th of April to get everything looked at but NOT IMPRESSED! Also have a 2013 edge that has been flawless since we got it, but this focus really pisses me off. I didn't like it from the first time I drove it, tried to torque it up to see if it was any good from drag racing and with the brakes on, the gas peddle does nothing....either gimme a standard or gimme an auto, not this standard with a computer controlled clutch because I'm braindead! More I think about it the more I hate that car, lucky the wife likes it/drives it. Ford has to come up with a cure for this pos tranny! I think this has been my first EVER negative post about ford...on any forum....

I'm a Christian and in the army now for 31 years and have many tours/experiences under my belt. I believe that as a soldier for my country I am justified in the Lords eyes doing my duty. Really 30? You have a direct correlation between minimum wage and welfare or crime? Higher the minimum wage and crime drops off? Are you basing that on the fact there is less crime in well-to-do neighborhoods so then if we make everyone well-to-do then crime would drop? Really? Or...rereading your post...are you saying you'd rather see minimum wage go up instead of them raising welfare cheques and putting more money into corrections? I can't see that being your thoughts as minimum wage is born by private industry and welfare/corrections is born by government...who don't have anything so give to those things after taking from...private industry...

So the big push here in the "socialist republic of nova scotia" is $20.00 minimum wage! Yup you heard right, 20 bucks a hour will solve all poverty problems here. Just like the move from $5-6 did...and the 6-8....and the 8-10 and then finally the jump from $10- 11.45 that was "required" because too many were working poor and 11.45 was the amount that would solve the issues of the poor......until the next save. So now everybody (well everybody who doesn't own a business or have any skin in the game) is jumping on the bandwagon including....UNITED WAY. United way is the local (Canada wide, maybe US too?) group that everybody gives money to, in general, and they spread it around to various charity organisations. Why is this an issue? Because 80% of their money comes from drop boxes on the premises of...SMALL BUSINESSES, the very ones they are attacking! So, various small business organisations are now publicly denouncing them for what they truly are, left wing political interests. So, several points of their agenda have leaked out now and hey, who'd a thunk it, they support numerous left wing/anti-business causes. (after all, rich people and businesses are evil, right?) I stopped contributing (we had people come through our ranks and they would push for payroll deductions so "you won't even know it's gone" but stopped when I and many others found out they were supporting the Betty McCann House which was a home for sheltered women. Why would that be bad you ask? Because a guy in my unit had the shit kicked out of him by his abusive wife and with nowhere to go ended up there one night. He was told to leave or he'd be arrested and to "find one of his fellow wife abusing army buddies to put him up". You can imagine the embarrassment of a guy who's supposed to be a tough army tanker when the Unit finds out his wife has been regularly kicking the shit out of him and he won't hit back. So All of the RCD (Royal Canadian Dragoons) in CFB Petawawa threatened to stop all contributions unless the Betty McCann house was removed from their list of money receivers...they declined and we all stopped. I haven't put money into United way since. And now this comes out.....fuck united way, I'll tell everyone I can not to contribute and why.

I was talking to a financial planner the other week and he used warren buffets name and I gave him a look of disdain. He asked why, buffet is so great, has all that money but still is against millionaire/billionaires paying lower taxes than middle income people. He even drug out the old "why his secratary pays more income tax than he does"......I couldn't hold back. The word hypocrite screams when I think of him. He is not paying income tax, he's paying taxes on dividends which are quite a bit less. If he wanted to pay "income" tax, he could draw his pay like everyone else, but instead, he draws no real "income" and lives on his monthly dividend cheques. The hypocrital prick could easily throw more money to the government if he truly "felt" that billionaires should "pay more". All I will say is that capitalism works and communism doesn't. Period. The only "disclaimer" if you will is that unfetterred capitalism will end with one person with all the marbles and everyone else broke. It (due to it's very nature) produces monopolies. So, the ideal situation would be capitalism with rules/regulations. (anti monopoly rules for example) Let everyone start any business with minimal red tape/hassle and enjoy the taxes dribbling in. When they become larger, the greater amount of taxes going to government will be in everyones best interest. To do this though, a flat tax has to be enacted, otherwise, the more money you make, the more you can afford to pay for someone to find the loopholes to save you money. Example; I do my own taxes = I owe $1000 H&R block does my taxes for $50 = I get $500 back My CA does my taxes for $250 = I get $4500 back So, if I can't afford someone else to do my taxes, I'll (due to my inability) pay out $1000. If I am middle income and can afford a private small company I'll get a little bit back as they pound through as many people as they can in as short of time as possible. If you make $$ and can afford a chartered accountant, they'll dig and find obscure loop holes and get big bucks back.

I woke up this morning and almost threw up when I heard the news...Alberta voted in the NDP party. That is like Texas voting in a bi-sexual governor and who's only agenda is pushing gay rights. Of course this isn't politically correct to say but I can't imagine a more holy crap moment...maybe waking up to the news that gremany actually did win the war? I don't know, unbelieveable. Alberta is our Texas...and they went ndp which is either communist or in the least, facist....I'm still sick to my stomach and can't understand it. Either the corruption (which therewas a lot of) caught up to them, or the massive money capitalist albertans had (and freely threw around) that dried up when the price of crude went in the toilet turned everybody into nannystate left wingers?? I don't know but wow...FREAKING WOW!

I've just finished reading a couple of books in my downtime after surgery and I think it's time for Paul Rand or someone like him to clean up the last 20 years of slowly devolving the US. People blame obama (I do for many things) Bush has had his hand in it and others before him. It doesn't matter who gets in, Repub or Dem, I think the States is slowly devolving into socialism and in 15 years you won't recognise the nanny-state. The Rich at the top got there through hard work/good business sense/ruthlessness or all of the above..I have no problem with it as the cream rises to the top, HOWEVER..(and this is a major turn for me in my opinion) I think unregulated or unethical capitalism has put too few into positions to control everyone else. Am I a "occupy" type freak, hell no I'm very right wing, but I had an epiphany and got to not only see both sides of the fence (the financial book I'm currently reading is decidedly left wing and I haven't thrown it at the wall yet) but the main thing I've noticed, if you will, is that BOTH sides are doing the same thing only calling different things. Rep and Dem's want to be in power and will buy votes however they can to stay there. The US has to pull it's collective head out of it's ass and stop being a world cop, stop dumping billions to other countries who don't care or are enemy's, Focus on closing the borders and become more self sufficient. Global trading is killing the US as it allows business to do manufacturing wherever is cheaper, pay taxes wherever is cheaper and spend it profit wherever it chooses. NONE OF THESE THINGS are in the US's best interest. I'm not an isolationist per se, but first things first, the US has to stop hemorraging money out of the country. Rep or Dem vote is a vote for more of the same. Russia,China, India, hell the whole freaking world is laughing at the US spending money it's borrowing from china to save a country that had an earthquake or flood that's right beside russia and china or india! Paul Rand.....anything is better than the other party with two names!

I went from the Miramichi to Montreal one winter in the back cubby hole (in front of the back window behind the back seat) of a VW. Mom and Dad, brother and sister and me. (they were mid teens and I was 10-12 or so) I remember standing in the back of our 74 f-100 (reg cab 8ft box 300 6 with 3 on the tree) and mom yelling that it was too dangerous, I had to sit down. This was going to town at about 50-60mph on the highway. In 73 when we came back from Germany my dad and uncle had to go to town and took me....to make drinks as they drove, I was 9 or 10 at the time, mom gave dad shit when we got back because I was too young to be mixing drinks. (it was perfectly fine we were cruising around in a rusted out 65 bonnevile with the two adults completely smashed and not a seatbelt to be found)

So, today is 11 degrees colder than normal for this time of year here and we're getting 30cm of snow Sunday and another 30 next Wednesday. Last winter was "wow that was a bad one, one of the worste in years.." This year has 1 1/2 times as much snow and on average 12 degrees colder than last year which was on averave 2 degrees colder than normal. But yeah, mans heating the earth up and only money will fix it....

Oh, and today was the first time in almost 11 weeks that the daily temp is not below "seasonal norms" here. And today is only a prediction that it will go up to the seasonal norm as it's not there yet. Here's a fun thing you can try yourself if you believe in MMGW, go to the weather network and check the month outlook. Normally you see the next day or so, you can look at the 7 day trend or 14 day trend or go to month..go to the "month" one and then look at the record highs and lows. Check every single day of this month, last month, heck do from Nov to May, you won't like what you find if you're a MMGW person. High dates are 2002, 1987, 1977, 1946, 1941, 1933 This varies from one day to the next one will be 1989, the next 1941 etc. The lows are 1989, 1984, 1972, 1959, 1945, 1929, 1887 So..the extremes are back and forth throughout the last 125-150 years. The earth is slowly warming, but it has been since 1850 which is the acknowledged (even peer reviewed) date that the mini ice age ended. So is there a warming trend? Generally yes. Is it directly caused by man or has it suddenly gone to "all heat mode" since 1850 like the warmers want you to believe? NO! Has it gone "all heat mode" since 1990 or whenever this crap started? NO! There was only 1 (that's ONE) year that was record setting since 1987 and that was 2002...if that was a "trend" then why hasn't 2005,2010,2013, etc been the record for the highest temp??? Different days have peaked in different years, same as the lowest temps have peaked in different years. The only constant from 1850 on is that the earth is slowly rising in temp and if it rises 3 more degrees overall...it'll be the same as when the romans were around 2000 years ago! Just think, if romans had suv's then the mini ice age never would of happened, makes about as much sense....

Sorry, been gone a while and too busy even when I was back. So, took it to the dealership and they changed it no questions asked. I asked if they saw it before and they said a couple times. Asked if there was a TSB or anything on it and he said there was...something but it was more than a couple weeks so I forget the acronym he used. Anyway, yes they have heard of it and no it's not common. Haven't had any issues with them since including the other trucks we have.

That's yet another eye opener, problem is the credibility of "Joe" a known right-winger. It's like seeing earth shattering news on Fox, then checking another news channel to confirm it. Not that they are not credible, it's that the minute you say you "heard it on Fox" you lose every left winger that hears you.
