A $44,000 car should not run funny just from striking a ditch at 95 MPH. You should never buy another Ford product again. What a POS.

You hit a curb, damaged your wheel, and you want Ford to pay? WTF, don't hit curbs.

The older Grand Cherokee is 10 times the off roader the Explorer is. Just the solid front axle alone puts it out ahead. When your off road and you need to climb over something, the heavy low cross member the Explorer has to mount the lower control arms will hang you up every time. On the solid front axle GC, the tires will be climbing the obstacle before anything underneath will hit. Not to mention better traction and, the stupid floor boards on the Explorer or, the plastic gas tank that hangs below the frame. Explorer's as well as the newest Grand Cherokee, and most other SUV's are nothing more than all wheel drive station wagons.

You have that backwards. The v6 was much faster off the line than the V8. The V8 would catch up and then walk away from the v6 cars after they got going. Too bad Ford didn't have a trans to stand up to the v8 better, The v8 prototype had over 300HP but there was no trans that could handle that much power. I had a 97SHO that I saved from the crusher (cam failure) for a few months. What a nice car!!!!

Ford has a history of letting their performance cars rot on the vine anyway. Plus, They have had weak transmitions too. This goes way back. Once the Fox Mustang went to 225HP the only update was when they went to MAF Injection. The 5 speed couldn't handle much more power and the AOD was junk The Supercoupe was updated once when it went to 230 HP in 94. Same weak transmitions. Mark 7 LSC never updated after it went to 225 HP. Never got MAF. Weak AOD. Mark 8 1 update when the new LSC came out for 1 or 2 years had 10 more HP due to duel exhaust, left to rot, Weak trans. V6 SHO never updated and the automatic cars were detuned due to weak transes. V8 SHO never updated, left to rot and was detuned due to weak transes. There was a V8 SHO prototype that made over 300 HP but Ford had nothing to put behind it. As the years went by Ford took more and more standard equipment away from the SHO. So what do they need performance cars for if they are not going to do anything with them or equip them with strong enough components??

A few quick things: 1st. You can not use the next F150 frame and solid axles. The frame will be made for IFS. Not to mention, it's too big, too wide, and too heavy for use in a Bronco the size of the concept. 2nd, 2 door full size SUV's do not sell these days. Thats why there are none offered. There would defiantly not be different size Bronco's with all the other full size SUV's out there.

There is NO "protective casing" under the tank on an Exploader. The tank itself is plastic, which is no big deal but, It hangs down 1\2-3\4 below the frame.

The Explorer is nothing more than a tall station wagon with AWD. Have you ever been under one? The plastic fuel tank hangs 3\4 of an inch below the frame. Also, There is now way to put solid rears under that frame anyway.

Filling a filter before installing does nothing and is a waste of time. There is plenty of oil left on the bearings to lube them for a few seconds. This is nothing more than an old wifes tail. Not to mention when you fill your filter, your putting unfiltered oil into the "post filter" side of the filter.

Update: I have dropped the asking price to $4,600.00. KBB value is $5,500.00, NADA book value is $5,300.00. Also, Today, I borrowed a dealer plate from a friend and took this car on a 50+ mile road test. The car ran and drove great!!! It has plenty of power, Shifts great, Drives quiet and straight. I drove it locally and on the interstate and got it up to 95MPH. There were no warning lights and it ran cool. I'm confident that who ever ends up with this car will be pleased with it and will not have any problems. Thanks all, Mike D.

Hi, I'm selling my 1997 Taurus SHO. It has 95,000 miles, White with Grey leather interior. The car is equipped as follows. 3.4 Liter 235 Horse Power, All aluminum Yamaha V8, Automatic transmission with overdrive, 4 wheel disk brakes with ABS, Semi-Active Ride Control suspension, ZF power steering, Leather interior, Remote keyless entry, Power windows, Locks, seats, and Sun roof, Mach audio system with 6 disk CD changer, Automatic headlights, Auto climate control. I got this car with the usual SHO cam failure trouble. The front intake cam was bad and the front 8 intake valves were bent. There was NO other engine damage done. I have pictures of the inside of the engine to conform this if you wish to see them just let me know. I repaired this engine myself. and can guaranty you the job was done with the proper care, parts and workmanship. The following parts are brand new: Complete valve job with welded cam gears, Spark plugs, 130 amp Alternator, Drive belt, Interstate Battery, Fuel and Air filters, Front lower ball joints, Trans filter and fluid, Motor Oil. The car has 2 newer tires with over 90% of their tread left. The other 2 have about 65-70% of their tread left. All 4 brakes are good, as are the Struts, Wheel bearings, Sway bar links etc. The interior looks almost new. The only imperfection is a dime sized tear in the driver door panel (see picture) As best as I can tell, Everything on this car is working (Radio, Seats, Air Conditioning, etc) The car is not registered or insured so, I have only driven it about 10 miles since the valve job was done. It runs GREAT!!, Is fast powerful and comfortable. The trans shifts crisp and smooth. I have run the car in gear on a lift for over 100 miles. There is no check engine or other warning lights on, and there are no trouble codes stored in the computer system, The engine runs smooth, quiet, and cool. There is no overheating or fluid leaks. The exterior I would rate at an 8.5 to 9. There was a small dent in the right rear door\quarter panel and, some deep scratches were in the rear bumper where someone had scraped off a bumper sticker. I had all of this repaired and re painted (again see the pictures) There is a small chip of paint missing from the very leading edge of the hood. I believe that the left front corner was repaired at some point in the past. The headlight is new and does not fit as flush as the other side. The front bumper cover has been repainted as well. I looked real close and I do NOT see any evidence of repairs under the hood or underneath the car. Therefore I believe this was a minor fender bender type of repair to the light and bumper only, I will be glad to take and provide any pictures to show this. The only other imperfection on the outside is some chrome peeling near the valve stems on a few of the wheels. The car shines and looks good. I only have 1 key for this car. The trunk key is missing but can be opened from inside or with the remote. The remote has new batteries but needs to be programmed to the car. Kelly Blue Book lists a perfect 97 SHO with 95,000 miles worth up to $5,500.00. I'm asking $4,800.00 for this car. It is located in North West NJ (Parsippany), about 30 miles from Manhattan, 25 minutes from Suffern NY, 65 minutes from Allentown PA, and about 90 minutes from Scranton PA.
