Cyberdman, if this is breaking the rules then I apologize and you can ignore this thread. Trying to get my brother in laws truck tracked.. he was told it was supposed to be there on 6/1 and still nothing. If you can look it up, I'd greatly appreciate it. If not, no worries, I understand that I'm not him. Thanks 1FT7X2AT2FEA49792

Larry, as of the latest that I heard a few days ago, they have almost 20,000 trucks waiting to ship out. I know it is frustrating but it makes sense on why it is happening whether one likes it or not. Ford started production on 3/13 and the "ok to ship" wasn't given for over a month after. Then on top of that Ford, had to repair many of the trucks up until roughly April 25th because of the issues that Ford was having during the builds. Once the "ok to ship" was given, trucks started moving but with 6 weeks worth of production sitting on lots (Ford was even renting space all through Louisville to store the trucks), the shipping companies can't keep up. Ford is not going to slow production which means it will take a while for trucks to ship out. There was a train shortage for one, add to that Ford is producing more then the delivery companies can ship, it's going to take time. Again, I know it is frustrating for people to be waiting on their trucks, but that's what is going on right now and I don't see it getting any better for a while. I've seen delivery times in the 4-6 week time frame from time of production.

GM apologizes for recall notices to victims' families
blwnsmoke replied to blwnsmoke's topic in Competing Products
My point is that Ford did not do this willingly as a good faith to their customers. For 3 years they've been saying it's not a problem, such a low failure rate and charging customers for these repairs when they were outside of their 3yr/36k. Now because the NHTSA drove it and had a discussion with them, they are now willing to acknowledge it is a problem despite all their documents/responses saying that it isn't a safety issue since we can still steer it manually. My point is, I'm not giving Ford credit for this whatsoever as it wasn't their original decision to do it. We've gone completely off topic from the original post so I'll let this die and leave it at that. -
GM apologizes for recall notices to victims' families
blwnsmoke replied to blwnsmoke's topic in Competing Products
Not trying to start a pissing match about this and it may be going off topic now but going to explain my rational. It's hard to understand because if you have been or had followed the major investigation by the NHTSA that is still ongoing with the failing Power Steering system you'd see what Ford was deeming was wrong with the system. NHTSA has 302 complaints from 2011 to current about this issue so far ranging from parking lot speeds all the way up to 70mph on the highway. The three issues Ford found was: 1) Circuit boards were tilted 3 degrees too much causing the conformal coating to run away and collect. 2) Ribbon cable misalignment. 3) Broken end of cable may get pushed out other side making poor contact. This was as of 2011 and none of the issues found were SOFTWARE related. http://www-odi.nhtsa.dot.gov/acms/cs/jaxrs/download/doc/UCM425907/INRL-PE12017-52566.pdf And yet it continued and continued to happen with customers having to pay close to $2,000 for a replacement rack. Ford claims 5.5 out of 1,000 failure rate. How is an electrical issue a software issue?? Also, in the article it states that Ford disabled the PS for the NHTSA in April so they could see the effort it took to steer and after that, they had "talks" and pressure was applied to do a field action or recall. It was only once the NHTSA got a feel for how the Explorer reacted that Ford decided to do this. Three years of being ignored.. Don't go defending them as if they are being proactive about it. If you want to read the 38 pages worth of comments and complaints, have at it. http://www.explorerforum.com/forums/showthread.php?t=320445 -
GM apologizes for recall notices to victims' families
blwnsmoke replied to blwnsmoke's topic in Competing Products
In fairness, Ford hasn't been covering this up but they've been ignoring the power steering issues with these Explorer's since 2011. The fact that they say it isn't/wasn't a safety issue because you are still able to manually steer the vehicle is a bunch of BS. Yes you can steer but it takes a REDICULOUS amount of effort and when the PS fails, there is no warning. As soon as it says on the dash it has failed, it has failed. Not only that, they claim if you don't have any failures, a reflash fixes the problem. If a reflash fixed the problem, then no steering rack should have to be replaced even if it gives codes. It makes no sense what Ford is claiming. Anyways, I can't give Ford credit for this.. they are doing it because GM is in the news and it's easier to slip it in now. -
GM apologizes for recall notices to victims' families

Although I know the recall process is mostly automated, you'd think that GM would be very cautious in regards to who they are sending them out to since they are all over the news right now. Considering there is only 13 deaths for this particular recall, how can they not make sure that this is handled properly. http://finance.yahoo.com/news/gm-apologizes-recall-notices-victims-families-032025856.html -
2015 Mustang big secret revealed

Did you see the date on article? It is old news, been discussed on here. -
Hi Cyberdman. I was told it is on a train some where. Would love to know where and a possible eta? Thanks so much 1FT8W3BTXFEA30029

I think trucks will start right around that date if not within a week or two from there. I know of one dealer who will be getting them in July but he is usually the first to get everything. I'd think you'd be looking at a mid to late August time frame as long as Ford can catch up on all the backlog of trucks that are waiting to be delivered. If they can't catch up, expect 4 weeks for delivery once built.

This is exactly how Ford described how the exhaust brake works. They said that when going down a grade with the exhaust brake, it will maintain speed for you without having to press on your brake.. it isn't designed to slow you down.

Ford Turns Truck Business customer to rival
blwnsmoke replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Exactly.. Ford was the customer, not Navistar. We were buying the motors from them. -
Ok.. now I'm definitely confused as well.. On top of what you said, he has the Chrome exhaust tips as well.

MAJOR CONCERN/ISSUE WITH 2014 FORD EXPLORER SPORT
blwnsmoke replied to MikeyD's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Normally they will go through it, fix it and then sell it as used. Needs to be disclosed by the manufacturer during the first sale from my understanding but after that, it doesn't need to be disclosed during subsequent sales. -
MAJOR CONCERN/ISSUE WITH 2014 FORD EXPLORER SPORT
blwnsmoke replied to MikeyD's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Keep in mind that most states lemon law kick in from the first time the complaint was made. So although you are making payments, they can/are generally refunded back to you. Just keep making them and let the process pan out. Sometimes you can go for a full refund up to the point of the complaint, sometimes you can request an exact replacement of the vehicle. Ford can search high and low for an exact match and give that to you and take yours back.. you would then continue to make payments. Check your lemon law states but it is generally always on your side in regards to making someone whole.
