  1. Now since Volvo would be sold, that means more money to revive the Lincoln and Mercury Devisions. i see a COUGAR on the way.
  2. I thought the 4.2 in the F-150 got around 20-22 MPG? My dads work truck is a 2005 4.2 and he gets 20 mpg at 35,000 miles.
  3. i hope your right, do you drive a ranger?
  4. 1999 ranger 3.0 V6 sky blue with 161,500 and i still own it and still drive it.
  5. When i was looking for a truck i had 2 choices. A 2002 Chevrolet S10 Extended cab automatc 4.3 V6 with 115,000 on it and my other choice was a 1999 Ford Ranger regular cab automatic 3.0 V6 with 159,500 on it. They both were in the price range of $3500-4000. I went with the ranger because i knew the ranger was better built and the 3.0 vulcan is a very reliable engine. I do not regret buying the ranger and i am real happy with it. Although the Vulcan is considered underpowered at 155 hp compared the the competition, the Vulcan will get up, fly and soar when you need it to. Then ranger is indeed a good companion to venture with. I love driving my truck and i love my ranger i hate will hate to see it go, but if thats what it takes for the survival of ford motor company, then so be it.
  6. i hope my ranger will last 1 million miles. has the 3.0 vulcan
  7. According to me, the F-150 wins. dodge still likes WIDE center consoles SOMETHING i never will like.
  8. What ford can do is make Mercury the Hybrid brand and when ford brings european models over, they can badge them as Mercuries. A Mercury pickup would be nice to replace the Mazda B-series or Ranger, Ford can produce the big boy pickup trucks and let Mercury handle the compact pickup truck, the truck could be called Monarch? Medallian? M1? also a cougar is needed.
  9. Ford won the battle of the body style, looks and interiors but they lost the battle of the engines. No point in buying a 2009 F-150 untill the 3.7 V6 6.2 V8 and the 4.4 Diesel are released.
  10. I can agree with you about wiki being inacurate sometimes but hopefully the sable page is acurate. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Mercury_Sable
  11. My team, the St.louis rams had a bad season. 3-13. They had alot of injuries, but i gave them credit for trying. When on fire, the rams can dominate and maybe next season, the Greatest Show On Turf might return.
  12. I am to. I would love to go to Mulally's office and tell me straight up that the Sable name just as popular as the Taurus is. The sable sold well back in the day, nearly outselling the taurus back when the taurus and sable came out according to wikipedia. Ford can do it again, if they do it right. but IMO If you build the 2010 Taurus, then you build the Mercury Sable...
  13. Blackhorse, all i was saying was the ranger WAS a sucess unlike the colorados and tacomas. My ranger has the 3.0 V6 with 161,000 on it and it runs excellant.
  14. I tried to send igor a pm but it said his Inbox is full. I guess he does not clean it out...
  15. The ranger has one sibling, The Mazda B-series. The colorado has 2 siblings, The GMC Canyon and the Izuzu I-series. The ranger/ B-series was a sucess with only 2 trucks. The Colorado/canyon/I Series are not a sucess even with 3 trucks. The ranger has done something the colorado has not and the tacoma, well it just does not fit it. Along with that frontier.
  16. How dare mulally failed to mention the future of the Mercury Sable.
