Front Drive Designs Almost Became the Mustang
Schpark replied to ANTAUS's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
I still drive a 97 Taurus with 195K miles on it. A couple years ago I got rear ended by a Honda Civic. The Civic was totaled and I had a scratched bumper and a bent tailpipe. I drove home. The guy in the Civic was amazed at the damage disparity and asked me what kind of car I was driving. -
My quick reviews of the '14 Explorer Sport vs. '14 Acadia Denali
Schpark replied to MikeyD's topic in Competing Products
I tried to talk my wife into an Explorer but she just did not like driving it. After reading up on the Flex I found the two vehicles very similar in capability and specs. I asked the wife to take a look at one and her first reaction was that it was ugly. I told her to check it out, no pressure, and once she got inside she liked it much better than the Explorer. Once she drove it the decision was made. -
2015 Ford Edge Concept Introduced
Schpark replied to blazerdude20's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
They need to be able to keep the tow ratings and AWD capability before I would approve of an all I-4 lineup. -
I purchased a new 2008 Focus and Sync was a deciding factor. That and I wanted a manual to teach my son to drive. He now drives the car and it is a great little car. It has over 90,000 miles and I still have not needed to do the brakes.

We love our Flex and were able to get a large discount from sticker. We got the tan cloth as my wife also hates leather. We needed the size and capability though to replace an Expedition to tow a small boat and haul a family of 5. My wife hated the explorer and was not interested in driving the Flex but once she drove it she was sold. Our lifetime MPG is currently right at 21.

Still on the original spark plugs? My MPG on my 2008 Focus went up after changing out the original plugs after 85K miles.

I would be happy if they simply added the ambient lighted cupholders back.

I should be. I wonder why the dealer has not contacted me yet. Thanks for confirming my suspicions.

Does Dealer Allocation Matter for Factory Order
Schpark replied to Schpark's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Yep, kind of but he only searched locally. I used the Ford dealer inventory search and plugged in zip code across the country, not exhaustive but the only hit I could find was several states away and was in 3rd or 4th favorite color. -
Does Dealer Allocation Matter for Factory Order
Schpark replied to Schpark's topic in Ford Motor Company Discussion Forum
Below is another reponse I have received elsewhere. The 4 or 5 months comment has/had me a little worried. "Even if the dealer has given you #1 priority on their list, they are still waiting for their slot to open up in the system. Even though my dealer swore he had allocation, and gave me the highest priority he could offer, it still took longer than expected to get my build date (whatever is shown in my signature line). But my coworker, who ordered from a dealer without allocation and was quite a ways down the priority list, waited something like four or five months for his." -
Does Dealer Allocation Matter for Factory Order

Here is the response I got from the salesperson "This should not be a problem with allocation, I think there should not be any problems getting your vehicle here by May." She also referred to her manager approval later on for a different item so I don't think she is acting indpendently. Am I just worrying too much? -

Is this something a salesman may not know about? Who at the dealership will know this the best and be able to tell me when they have allocation, fleet manager? Sales manger?
