  1. ohhhh, kay I have a son who will be graduating next May and decided to see what he thought about cars...Now you have to remember kids these days really are not into cars as much as enthusiast's on this site. I got a little mixed up and went to the Ford site and showed him a Fiesta,, his reaction to that? It looks like a girls car. Ouch, but probably hitting home. Then I found this link and showed him that orange ST. Then he goes that looks cool. He wanted to know what I thought, I just said, Well It's not me.
  2. 2 a FourTwo+Two? Mercedes will make them as long as someone buys them and for the US it's Penske. But with Mercedes pockets, they will take a loss until the market shows it's just not going to work. Timing, just like location is everything. in this case it's 20 years too soon.
  3. 10 Cars That Get More Than 40 MPG Even side by side comparsion of Diesel Fiesta vs Ka. Fiesta wins on economy and room.
  4. uhhh Nick. Ford would be well ahead of the 500 now had they done that. AND positioned Ford for the rise in gas price, CAFE standards.. Now they have allowed Fiat the jump on publicity and a market niche. The KA and Fiesta are entry level.. Young demographic vehicles, abet retirement cars too. All your not talking about is LOST sales. It's already made. It already sells. It is just not here on these shores. ======= Fiat's claim was NO DEALER NETWORK
  5. uhmmm.. I wonder, and I say it because of .. The KA was already being produced. for a while, then we hit that Gas spike and people were clamoring for the "why don't they make what people want". Ford had the dealers... seems it wouldn't have/couldn't have taken that long to ready them. load a boat and get them on these shores. Anyways.. just thinking out loud.. Yea I enjoy seeing some of the KA pictures.
  6. I'm sure Fiat has some type of agreement against it. I've never seen any mention of the possibilty of it coming to N.A. Do they even sell in the same markets? Well once the 500 starts here, Gas hits $4/gal., I'm sure there will be a few threads on how Ford dropped the ball on all of that. I wonder how the sales numbers look. The KA is a much better looking design to me.
  7. What will be disappointing is, if people really do continue to purchase this, is how well Ford could have done to bring the KA to North America.
  8. Critic, on 12 September 2010 - 12:19 AM, said: Does that mean that they are the only worldwide car manufacturer that has to install that, because they just can't explain why there vehicles have unattended unintended acceleration? And would that not lead a rational person to the same conclusion? Except for someone that swallows the kool-aid and terms it a safety advancement? It's a known fact that the models would never get up and scream the tires on a smoke-out, But a positive reviewer would at least inform the fast and furious crowd that the mother country will now never allow their cars to sit and smoke 'em if you got 'em. DC Car Examiner, on 12 September 2010 - 07:52 AM, said: Other automakers have it as well, and those that don't might do well to adopt it, seeing as every automaker has drivers who claim unintended acceleration.
  9. I know some ford dealers have interior mirrors that will retro-fit. That the route I went, got a replacement that was auto-dimming and also displays the outside air temp. It can operate three separate radio frequency devices. It was simpler to do that, than to get a visor with the homelink.
  10. Volkswagen Beetle In 1998, many years after the original model had been dropped from the lineup in most of the world (production continued in Mexico until 30 July 2003[4]), VW introduced the "New Beetle" (built on a Volkswagen Golf Mk4 platform) which bore a visual resemblance to the original. As noted, the original was produced in Mexico until 2003, long after it could no longer be sold in the US due to it's inability to meet emission standards.
  11. LOL read these 2 posts from Edmunds abouta MKX Edmunds. So Look at the first and notice what the Lincoln is compared to, and the second at price.. Ford looks pretty good if this is real world and I know it's actually worse than this.
  12. First clue,, try to visualize the size of that coaster.. I just got one. it's 4 inch Dia. The story should have been on a napkin.. Well anyways, good to see Ford on the bleeding edge of cutting technology.
  13. And we use to have a lot of fun, intentionally starting a rumor at work, to see how it made it's way back and had expanded. Knowing Ford, they have never suddenly developed something band new like you described. I might consider it as a concept. It would have better street cred if the description had come from a university. But to think this was anyway doable, as a 2 seat rear engine, but front Elect. motors? I just wanted to say, this isn't something Alan would champion as a One Ford for the masses. Shame their isn't a copy of the hard round coaster.
  14. I'm not going to trying make this any type of political statement, however: Didn't the Bush administration change these pension obligations to favor this type of contribution's to the plans? A way that it dropped the amount they had to pay and fatten the bottom line of the companies? Others will know what I mean about this, but it boiled down to the companies had to put in less, due to changes done under GWB's reign.
  15. I've got all 5 volumes sitting behind me, but I won't try to locate it. I think your both right to a degree. The bottom line is, the receiving plant wants as few transfers as possible, because they come with TOTAL Ford seniority and that hurts current plant employees during a cutback and the more people, the more overtime is spread around. The receiving plants will make a case they can do all the work with current people.
  16. A WHAT? Yea, I do have another ACTIVE account on here, that doesn't get used, cause I don't want to use it. But I am not too worried and paranoid like you to research anything on someone that doesn't like me. What a damn shame you drug this whole thing out with attacks on me.. Your really something, Now you say your NOT an employee, keep that in mind while trolling the employee forums then.
  17. Take it back to the dealer. point out the errors, tell him you want it recitfied.. Don't really even worry about paperwork, because they have it all on a computer anyways, there is a record anytime you go for service. IF you don't get it fixed right, do your research on lemon-law for your state. You'll find you a lawyer like that and talk to him. As for BBF, he's already hurting. hahahha I am not going to play tit-for tat with the child.
  18. But you seem to miss the obvious,, it's NOT about price.. Ford sells more TRUCKS at much higher prices than Lincoln, so Lets just call the F-Series the Luxury line.
  19. Buhbuhbuh, buh you whined about it that Ford didn't know who they were dealing with and you were going to RUSH RIGHT OUT and get a BMW5!.... LOL.. so we are to believe you and your posts? Here is the problem that has been explained to you before and should be explained once again and what will probably happen: THIS TRACKING is not supported nor done BY 'FORD' .. it's done out of the goodness of certain employees hearts. PERIOD. AND it should cease, because this was why it is NOT DONE BY 'FORD'.. people think it's a right and then they demand everything associated with it, right down the the number of the rail car it's on, when it passed a certain crossing, ad nauseum. It won't take cyberdman too much longer to give this up, just like viperpilot did.
  20. Well Richard, you have to admit, BMW does have a cache and hasn't received the bad publicity the US cars do, nor the problems they have gone thru. When you say net profit, what would it be broken down to profit/vehicle? They cost an arm and a leg, but they have made money and look good for the future. Ford is now beginning to look sustainable. Ford has to deal with the debt, otherwise the Family would have been wiped out in a bankruptcy. That is what hinders Ford the most, but it is surmountable.
  21. LOL now BBF is marking the replies negative,, makes MY day!
  22. True, I'm not going to write a novel on how to accept the fault and it's many ways. I've dealt with the company as an employee and a customer and have learned they change only when it costs them. SO that said here is a good way to go about it. BBF can play the company side all he wants while trying to commiserate with the poor customer. Research your lemon-law for your state. Could be 3,4,5 repairs.etc... Forget the damn BBB bullshit, as that is NON-Binding, BUT it's a requirement the COMPANY requires you to go thru, YOUR lemon-law lawyer will also inform you of this. IF it has surpassed the number of repairs to 'qualify' as a lemon, well that's ALL SHE WROTE! Hey you know what all this means BBF? It means you will end up going to trial with your peers, you know ones that have as much like for a dealer as they have for lawyers, and guess what? Most don't like to hear that a guy who just bought a 60K truck can't seem to get it fixed.. AND the company seems to know this, so remember.. don't let the dealer know, you know these things,, but make sure it gets repaired no matter what, but if it has surpassed the number of attempts for the suit.. A lemon-law provides that the company will have to cover your lawyer fee's. You ARE going to get it fixed and a large out of court settlement because of it. Damn screwed up paint and a guy tells someone that he should inspect it 110% before he ever drives it away and maybe go in and ask for something in return for it, WHAT TOTAL BULL! Then to turn around and talk that he 'might' have mentioned a lemon-law when he never did in the first place, is trying to cover his rear in front of this public. I get the feeling this man, will be listening to me a hell of a lot more than YOU BBF! The company obligation to you is this. we want paid for the vehicle, we provide warranty coverage exactly as stated, miles/years. After that. well that's why we had a warranty to begin with THAT YOU PAID FOR., now your on your own. I haven't liked the condescending posts from BBF since he started trolling, and I make it known. . It was a woman IN Ford's Resolution office that cost Ford tens of grand when she told me the same crap BBF just told that man.
