  1. Not to Hijack this thread any further, but I am a retired US Federal Law Enforcement Agent. Prior to retirement I had occasion to travel into Canada, on several occasions on official business in a US Government owned Crown VIC. I never had any problems with Canadian Customs, but occasionally had issues with US Customs on the way back. Don't know why, I think for me it was just because they could. While not saying it is right, I think because of the times we live in, you just have to suck it up. It can be very annoying, but it only lasts a couple of minutes anyway (unless you are going through secondary). Anyway their job is to make you uncomfortable, that is part of the screening process. If you feel uncomfortable and you aren't doing anything wrong, think about how someone who is violating the law when they go through must feel. It helps them with the screening process. Maybe they don't get the super "professional" criminals and terrorist, but the average everyday crook becomes easier pickings. Anyway, my Canadian cousin (my paternal ancesters are from Quebec and Ontario), please visit the states more often and bring plenty of money. I know Michigan can use it.
  2. Slightly off topic but what type and how big of a USB external drive are you using and I'm assuming it is working ok or you wouln't be using it. Do you have it in your console and have you experienced any heat issues from the drive since they can generate a lot of heat?
  3. I hope they are doing it for free, because you can do the upgrade yourself with no problem. You just need a thumb drive. Download the files from the SYNC site to the thumb drive on your computer, plug the thumb drive into the appropriate slot in your console and run the update per the instructions on the SYNC site. Takes about 10 minutes
  4. Boy that sucks. Tell them if they send it back to tear it down, then you want a new one!

    Cargo Net

Just curious if anyone got a trunk cargo net with their new car. The 2010 Milan/Milan Hybrid vehicle brochure indicates that a cargo net comes with the vehicle to facilitate organization. (Section 11 "Elements of sophistication") Ha ha that what it really says....Anyway when I got my MMH a couple of weeks ago, no cargo net. I asked the salesman about it and he indicated that he didn't know anything about them as he hadn't seen any at all in any of the new Milans. Didn't know if they were supposed to come with the Fusion. Maybe Ford changed their mind after the brochure was printed or the Chinese factory couldn't get them produced in time. Anyway, has anybody else got one with their new car? By the way I love mine so far. Thanks
  6. Congrats, I'm picking up my Milan hybrid tomorrow. It took 2 weeks to get to the dealer in Cleveland from the time it was built.
  7. This was posted earlier. Here is the link for the Hybrid Owner's Manual as well as the non-hybrid. Give you a complete run down on all the new controls. http://www.motorcraftservice.com/vdirs/ret...p?menuIndex1=12 On the left side, click on Owner Guide and then choose your vehicle. Doesn't have the Syn/Navigation stuff but the rest of the manuals are there.
  8. Took a test drive today of the 2010 Milan Hybrid at my dealer. Beautiful car, beautiful ride. They got one hybrid, one regular Milan and a Lincoln MKZ all made in mid February. They are going to try to hang on to the Hybrid so that they have a demo for people to test drive. I took it on a couple mile city trip and was able to keep the milage at 31 mpg without much difficulty. Also really like the back up camera in the rearview mirror as well. Mine won't be made for another week, but I am really looking forward to getting it. Enjoy your new cars!
  9. There are vehicles already at dealerships available for sale. Based on the IRS examples, if you have a confirmed order by the 31st of March, you should qualify for the full tax credit, otherwise you will still qualify for $1700 for purchases through August or sometime in the fall (forgot the exact date) Ford is processing the hybrid orders differently until March 31, 2009 so that they can confirm orders. This involves the salespeople faxing your order as well as a copy of your driver's license to confirm it is a real order and not some dealer scam.
  10. Your salesperson is an idiot. Unless you live out in the middle of nowhere there has to be another Ford or Mercury dealer around. Find one that will do your x-plan and then go to the dealer that you've already given the order too and ask to speak either to the manager or the person that actually orders the vehicles. If they continue to play dumb or are uncooperative, cancell your order and place your order with the new dealer. The car business isn't like it once was. Cars aren't selling that well including the new ones. If they treat you this poorly before your vehicle comes in, imagine how well they will treat you when you need service. Its been a week since you ordered your car, they should have something from Ford acknowledging the receipt of your order. If you ordered a hybrid, it will definitely have to be acknowledged by the end of the month if you have any hope of getting the full $3400 hybrid tax credit. A dealer should already have access to invoices for the various packages that have been invoiced already. So they should have a good idea as to what the plan prices are. When I ordered my Milan hybrid in mid February, my dealer already had an invoiced vehicle from another dealership, that listed the plan prices for the ordered vehicle. It was pretty easy from those numbers to do an approximate guestimate for what I was buying.
  11. Too bad you don't live in Cleveland. My dealer sent me an email today, saying they have 2010 Milan and a Milan Hybrid in stock. Since I was the first hybrid order, this must have been ordered for dealer stock. Based on other posts, the dealers should be getting both the Fusion and Milan into their showrooms, so it shouldn't be too difficult to get the x plan pricing from the dealer from a stock order. That is if they want to give it to you.
  12. I thought you were up in Dearborn? How is that a low volumn area?
  13. My dealer emailed me today with my vin number and advised that my Milan Hybrid is scheduled for the Week of April 6. I ordered on 2-16-09. I'm in Cleveland. While I like living here, I hardly call this a hot spot
  14. This is my favorite color. Took this at the auto show 2 weeks ago.
  15. Try this on for size Took these at the Cleveland Auto Show 2 weeks ago. This one was Ice Blue, but not sure the colors rendered that well.
  16. That would surprise me that they are already offering rebates on this vehicle since they aren't even on the dealer lots yet. Now there is a $3500 tax credit for the 2010 fusion hybrid at least until 4-1-09. Maybe the dealer was confused.
  17. How did they actually verify your order? Ford acknowledged the receipt of my Milan order on the 17th, and the dealer had to fax in my dl and order info, but even the dealer wasn't sure whether someone would actually call me or what was next?
  18. I have a copy of an invoice for a fully loaded hybrid Milan Rapid Spec is 300A (Moon and Tune, BLIS, Sony 12 speaker system, remote start, Navigation system plus leather). The price on the invoice is as follows: Suggested retail: $33, 420. Invoice amount: $30, 861.98 A & Z plan: $29,837.73 D Plan: $29937.73 and X Plan: $31,013.53
  19. Thanks for the updated info and the photos. Much appreciated.
  20. Saw it yesterday at the Cleveland Auto Show. It is a beautiful car!
  21. I ordered a Milan Hybrid on the 16th of February, but have not received a confirmation yet. I spoke with the dealer on Thurday and coincidentally some Ford sales rep was at the dealership on the same day. Apparently Ford has to verify the orders for the hybrids, so the dealer gave them copies of all my paperwork. Anybody know if this is what is refered to in the memo listed or is there some type of other verification needed? I didn't see this until after I spoke with the dealer so haven't asked for anymore details. Actually saw both the Fusion and Milan Hybrids at the Cleveland Auto show (or that's what they were purported to be. I'm a skeptic I guess) on Saturday. You couldn' t actually get into the Fusion (since it was locked). The Milan was unlocked, so you could actually get into the vehicle. However the trunk was locked so you couldn't actually see how much trunk space was lost due to the hybrid battery. It supposed to sit vertically behind the rear seat (I gues that is why the seat doesn't fold down). Nice car, not much physical change from the 2009's Saw the 2010 Taurus Sho. Beautiful car. Making me second guess by Milan decision.
  22. Ordered a 2010 Milan Hybrid last week (2-16), almost fully loaded (Z-Plan). Dealer used an invoice from a Michigan dealer as a go-by since he didn't have the new pricing guide in hand. Dealer said about 8 to 10 weeks but I will believe that when I see it. This was the first 2010 order they have taken, though they have also sold the unit they ordered for the dealership. Should have more details by the end of the coming week. They indicated there was some confusion in Dearborn, because of all the layoffs, etc with people changing responsibilities, so we will see if it really effects anything. But they will have the 2010s at the Cleveland Autoshow next Saturday. I hope they have either the Ford or Mercury hybrid there too.
