  1. Actually I'd like to see a tandem since Freightliner went out of their way to get CT to buy them because Ford doesn't make them.......yet! Teach Freightliner a hard lesson!
  2. Solution? STOP manufacturing EV's! Waste of resources and bankrupting Ford!
  3. Thanks Bob for that, but haven't I seen instances where Ford has made a small number of class 8's? How hard would it be?

  5. Anyway, I've asked before, butcan a normally spec'd F750 as a typical State DOT dump truck be outfitted with a sander and plow?
  6. Yes I do, and I bet they don't outsell Ford in the Northeast. Like I said before, I guess we live in the Twilight Zone here!

  8. Great point GG. One betrayal hurts. If Ford did indeed re-enter class 8, they'd have to put in writing that they (Ford) would never abandon them again! It's these pesky overly powerful shareholders, no offense to any!
  9. Bob, I was watching American Pickers and they were at a former Ford dealership established in 1913. So there was a lot of Ford memorabilia. The guy had a 1966 Bronco U13, light green bordering on turquoise with 29,000 miles. It had a white canvas or plastic attachment to enclose the vehicle including the missing doors. American Pickers paid $30,000 for it. Who made out better?
  10. It says 2023 Silverado HD was best selling HD truck. What do they mean by HD? Obviously it must stand for Heavy Duty, but I laugh when I see these claims and others like the JD Power awards. They find these little niches. I mean it's like "The best selling vehicles on March 4th at 4:47 PM on a Tuesday while it was raining and a squirrel walked across Main St. Boston. Ridiculous. Here in Connecticut, almost every class 1 thru 5 truck is a Ford. Dodge/Ram seemed to have been gaining here, but from personal observations, they've slipped by the wayside. I'm even seeing less Ram and more Ford TOW trucks which had been the opposite in the past. Do we live in the Twilight Zone here in New England? Is Ford being battered outside the northeast?
  11. Well I stated here a while back I saw a white (new color scheme) F series medium duty with a CT DOT orange stripe coming off an exit. I wasn't sure if I was hallucinating since the CT DOT hasn't bough a medium duty Ford since Ford sold the class 8 biz in 1996/1997. But I spotted it again on an overhead bridge on a construction site. So I looped around, got up to it and saw F750 on the cowl. The driver looked at me like I had two heads and I was being waved through so I didn't get a clear view of the engine insignia which was very small. But I'm 99% sure it was NOT a Cummins insignia. I'm going to the nearby DOT garage and I'm going to make some inquiries there or with DOT headquarters.
  12. Just a quick off topic blurb: I was watching Modern Marvels: Heavy Machinery episode and the first mfr. to use a robot was GM in a New Jersey plant back a few decades. Same episode revealed a construction equipment mfr. in Georgia called Sany builds all its products by hand. I never even heard of this company!
  13. As a general rule, you can't have a car standing still with the engine running for hours with no air current cooling the engine compartment.
  14. Great interview. Just don't put all your eggs in one basket just yet Ford!
  15. It appears the medium duty U-Haul truck that crashed through a gate in Washington DC is an F650. Anybody else come to that conclusion? No wonder, since I see a ton of them around the Northeast.
  16. I believe electric vehicles will eventually lose traction. I can refill my fuel tank in under 5 minutes! Now unless we're running out of fossil fuel, how can you beat that? What if we run out of Lithium? Or what if the mining companies or mine owners withhold it someday? This all in the name of reducing our carbon footprint because some scientists came up with this greenhouse gas model 50 years ago! Really? These same scientists who said Pluto was a planet, now it's not? The ones who say milk and eggs are good one year, second year not, third year good again? Or the ones who draw 10 possible paths of an impending hurricane because they really don't know where it's going! . I'll say this again for those who missed it. You can't reduce the carbon footprint of a carbon based planet! Without Carbon and CO2, we'd be dead! Every human exhales 2.2 lbs. of CO2 per day. The population of the USA and the world has doubled over the last 50 years, give or take. So let's do away with people! These tree companies want to cut down trees (which take in CO2) within 30 feet of every power line and road in the name of safety. If they had their way, they'd cut down every tree on the planet! Well that's how they eat! Something wrong there, wouldn't you say? I've etched things in boulders at beaches 40 years ago at high tide at midnight (maximum) and the ocean level hasn't risen! All the cars and industrial plants in the world don't emit what human exhalation, rotting vegetation and volcanoes do! But let's believe these scientists for a moment. They say we've had climate change events for millions of years! Forgive the capitals, but THERE WERE NO CARS AND INDUSTRIAL PLANTS BACK THEN!!
  17. I haven't seen a Hino in the last year or two! They used to be all over the place here in New England.
  18. Electric vehicles are the biggest joke I've ever seen! Every human exhales 2.2 lbs. of CO2 per day. The population of the US and world has doubled in the last 50 years give or take.So let's do away with people! Trees take in CO2 but we keep unnecessarily cutting them down in the name of safety, so that's another reason why we have excess CO2. By the way, if tree cutting companies had their way, they'd want to cut down every tree on the planet! Well that's how they eat! See anything wrong with the system? Anyway, without CO2, we'd be dead! You can't reduce the carbon footprint of a carbon based planet! These so called scientists -- paid by govt. -- said Pluto was a planet, now it's not! They say milk and eggs are good for you one year, next year not, then third year good again! All the cars and industrial plants don't emit what human exhalation, rotting vegetation and volcanoes do! But let's believe these scientists for a moment. They say we've had climate change events for millions of years! There were no cars and industrial plants back then! When these lithium mining countries and owners withhold lithium someday, these school bus manufacturers are going to have their thumbs up their arses!!
  19. Sometimes I wonder if the rush to electric vehicles is for another reason. Are we running out of fossil fuel? Are they telling us everything? How long will it last, or for that matter, how long will lithium last? I think it's time to consider going back to mustangs and broncos. I don't mean the 4 WHEELED Ford ones, I mean the 4 LEGGED ones........real horsepower! Fuel source? Grass and hay!
  20. That's nothing. The folding-hardtop Mustang convertible that never was - Hagerty Media
