  1. http://www.corvetteblogger.com/2011/12/28/drunk-driver-crashes-into-new-corvettes-at-a-miami-chevy-dealership/ This guy wasn't drunk, he was just bringing his Sonic in for service!
  2. http://wot.motortrend.com/whoops-2012-chevrolet-sonics-recalled-for-possible-missing-front-brake-pads-152143.html How can their quality system be so bad that it misses something as important as brake pads? Wouldn't the ability to stop be pretty high on the list of priorities? This is an epic fail.
  3. Even non-M and non-AMG models encroach on their larger siblings. The 5-Series starts at around $50K, a number that an optioned up 335i can easily pass.
  4. The Explorer has been a runaway success this year, an EL version probably wouldn't be a bad idea.
  5. Every recent GM car has been very good except of one huge flaw that essentially ruins the whole thing. This one is no different, it's about 300lb too heavy for this segment.
  6. The Evos was a two-door, and I don't expect a 2-door Ford (other than the Mustang) any time soon. Remember that this is a concept, and concepts need to look good. Typically, coupes are more eye catching than sedans, which is why they make sense as concepts.
  7. I agree. This isn't a Ford being compared to a Lincoln, it's a Lincoln being compared to a Lincoln. An MKZ should be able to be optioned up the way you'd expect a luxury car to be optioned up. If that causes some price overlap with the MKS, then so be it. The way Ford should be looking at it is that if somebody chooses a "low" content MKS over a loaded MKZ (or vice versa), they're still buying a high margin Lincoln.
  8. The first thought that came to my mind was the Mark series. I'd love to see it come out as the Mark X and sit on a RWD chassis with 5.0L under the hood. With one of Lincoln's underrated interiors and some eye popping style, it could be the "gotta have it" product that Lincoln needs.
  9. Ford should consider bringing this here since the Juke has been surprisingly popular. With AWD and more ground clearance than a sedan, it wouldn't make for a bad winter beater.
  10. Ford's advertising is usually pretty good. They highlight their own products instead of dumping on the competition. Hopefully this new agency follows suit.
  11. Regardless of whether it's responsible or not, virtually every Mustang that gets a tune is going to lose the speed limiter. I normally take the side of the manufacturer when it comes to mods, but in this case it's a very simple and common thing to occur. The fact that the cars are limited to 112mph makes it even more likely. All of the Mustang's primary competition, from the Camaro to the GTI, can run well over 112mph. Even the big fat Challenger can beat that speed. This is just Ford being cheap, and it's not a good place to be cheap.
  12. You're right, Ford shouldn't expect people to mod their Mustangs. It's not like they market it as a performance car or anything.
  13. This is a little embarassing if you ask me. How can a performance car not be fitted with a driveshaft that can handle 135mph? The car is limited to 112mph, which is lower than most econo-boxes these days. IMO, Ford picked a pretty poor component to cheap out on.
  14. This. I assume that in the next generation, an F150 Supercrew and Expedition will be extremely similar. They'll have to be built on the same line too.
  15. I'm glad the Escape is finally getting a redesign, it's dated in almost every conceivable way. The new one looks good, sits on a better chassis, and has better engines.
  16. I can't believe anybody takes "rep" seriously. I don't think I've ever clicked one of the buttons nor have I ever checked my own rep.
  17. A proper AWD set-up probably is the quicker way to get around a race track, especially when weight to power ratio is extreme (F1) or when surfaces are less than ideal (WRC). However, Ford's AWD system isn't a proper AWD system, it's FWD with the rear wheels kicking in every now and then. It's better suited to bad weather than performance. You have to look at Subaru or Audi if you want real AWD.
  18. RWD > FWD I put my money where my mouth is and bought a brand new Charger R/T. The SHO simply isn't as good of a car.
  19. Buy a Raptor, take out the seats, and give the rest to me!
  20. The Euros use 0-62mph without a rollout, which is usually significantly different than the 0-60 with a 1ft rollout that us Yanks use.
  21. http://www.autoblog.com/2011/12/08/wards-releases-annual-10-best-engines-list/ 3.0L TFSI Supercharged DOHC V-6 (Audi A6) 2.0L N20 Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (BMW Z4/528i) 3.0L N55 Turbocharged DOHC I-6 (BMW 335i Coupe) 3.6L Pentastar DOHC V-6 (Chrysler 300/Jeep Wrangler) 2.0L EcoBoost DOHC I-4 (Ford Edge) 5.0L DOHC V-8 (Ford Mustang Boss 302) 2.0L Turbocharged DOHC I-4 (Buick Regal GS) 1.6L DOHC I-4 (Hyundai Accent/Kia Soul) 2.0L Skyactiv DOHC I-4 (Mazda3) 3.5L DOHC V-6 HEV (Infiniti M35h)
  22. And sharing a platform instantly means poor reliability. Never mind that fact that Chrysler has shot up the boards since the Fiat takeover.
  23. Alfa's are constantly praised for their ride/handling balance. Do some research before posting.
