It's funny you say that, saw a used Crown Vic that was from a used car lot with dealer tags on it pulled over this afternoon on one of our notoriously patrolled streets....the cop car? Yeah...it was a Crown Vic too.... So goes that theory....

I think Ford needs to expand the use of Eco in the rest of the engine plans....what would a 3.5L/3.7L Duratec be like with gas direct injection but not turbo'ed...name like EcoDura...or just use the ECOnetic name from across the pond... ECOnetic for non-turbo'ed gas direct injection engines EcoBoost for the turbo versions What a way to spread development costs.....

They can build a new lineup with the Transit name... Transit Connect: Fords answer to the small van service market. Transit Econoline: Fords answer to the replacement of the aging Econoline of old. You would want EcoBoost I4 and V6 as well.

According to Auto Blog it is indeed from GM, goes along with their new "Satisfaction Guaranteed" program. I have only one thing to add about this new promotion from GM...

And lets not forget.... Fellas....I believe that Transit and Econoline can be merged....but when Ford does do that...they need to remember the Econo in Econoline

Edsel surely belongs there for bringing Ford kicking and dragging out from under the Model T, creating Continental, creating Mercury...pushing for more flair to the Ford lineup. A true visionary that died way before his time.

I have no doubt that Transit full size will be able to handle the job, it is merely the cost factor involved here....Econoline is less expensive to build and sell. She is the Panther chassis of the truck crowd and whatever Ford does in replacing her would quite possibly alienate a large fan base used to the economy of the Econoline.

Daimler will market the Mercedes Benz Sprinter through authorized Daimler Van USA dealers...Freightliner will get their copy as well. Full size Transit is one stout beast....but not sure it can accomplish what Econoline can do....for the price points that Econoline hits....the word "Econo" is there for a reason.

Yeah...those amazing Hondas...my ex-wife had a 1986 Accord....pile of crap...alternator failed....gotta yank the half shaft to get to it...or pull the intake manifold. mid pipe in the exhaust system rotted out, twice...very expensive part....fuel filler neck rotted out, causing the carb to become fouled. Ball joints front and rear suspension systems nothing but problems, radiator fell apart. So, after putting a ton into this POS...she finally gets a newer one after several domestics.....oh yeah, her 2000 Accord...in the shop more than on the road...my kids tell her she should buy a Ford like what Dad drives...he never has any problems with his Fusion.....The Mystique that she had right before we split? After she drove it into the ground...she sold it for $100 and the kid that bought it....still drives it today....but you keep getting those Hondas there snoots.....more power to ya....
