  1. Sounds like the 3 cyl 1L would work fine here in flat Florida. Once on the Interstate, it will get up to 80 mph and in stop & go city/urban driving with no hills or elevation to deal with, it a born natural winner. As far as 5 speed or 6 speed manual transmissions go, sorry, its over, done, finished! 99% of the Americans car market either (can`t) drive a stick shift anymore or choose not to row their own gears. I work PT at Manheim Auto Auctions, Palm Beach and you should see how difficult it is getting bids on any manual transmission Vehicles, (not) simply low end American Cars. Audi, BMW, Ferrari, VW, even HD Mid-Engine varieties have all gone to automatic paddle shifters. The high end Ferrari, Lambourgini, Mazz, too have all gone almost 95% automatic as well. 75% of Americans can`t even drive a stick shift anymore. Sorry, 5 speed or 6 speed manual transmissions are headed for the dust pan of history here in North America.
  2. Perhaps your right. Time will tell but (if) one does`nt need the Leather Trim Seats or fancy upgraded audio/electronics, the spread between a MSRP of $29.925 for the P8E V6 Base Convertible and the MSRP of $35.495 for the P8U EB 2.3L Premium Convertible is significant for both "bottom dollar buyers" as well as Fleet purchasers for Rental Car Companies. Bet you can figure out that my 2013 Ford C-Max Hybrid is in SE Trim (not) SEL, lol.
  3. I stand corrected. It appears that the newer 3.5L V6 will be a "turbo-based" design and (not) naturally aspired as is the older present Duratec 3.7L V6? I mistakenly thought it was a slightly downsized 3.7 with reduced bore & stroke reductions much like the 1.6L downsizing slightly to 1.5L.
  4. I was planning on ordering a 2015 Mustang Convertible with the Ecoboost 2.3L Engine (NOT) the Duratec 3.7L V6. Unfortunately, it requires not a mere $1500 or $2000 option upgrade for the Engine but require an additional $3500 to $4000 to order the "Premium" Package in the Convertible trim. Time will tell if the Mustang Convertible market will accept those numbers. I think the sweet spot in the N.A. Market for Mustang Convertible Sales will be between the Base V6 and the GT Premium V8.
  5. No need to just "ask Phil" just ask most Ford Dealerships whether they plan to order for Inventory & Stock more 2015 Mustang "Convertibles" with the V6 and a few add on options that will bring a MSRP of between 31K & 34K or have most of their Mustang Convertible Inventory with MSRP`s hovering between 41K and 45K. Unless the younger demographics have leaned more to the wealthier 1%ers, will Ford Credit now start to stretch financing from 7 years and 84 month Loans to a 10 year "Mortgage"? I personally would`nt feel comfortable being (upside down) for two thirds the length of (my) Car Loan. True, the 2015 Mustang Convertible will be the bread and butter of the Rental Car Industry and featured in Red Carpet Leases but don`t discount the fact that even Mustang Addict`s have a limit to their ability to buy or lease a 45K Vehicle, just saying.......
  6. I would say that a 2015 Mustang Convertible in either Premium Ecoboost 2.3L or the GT Premium 5.0L Coyote without loading up (all) available options will still bring a MSRP into the low and mid 40K range. I think that qualified for the "average" Mustang enthusiast a price range that might not be going "through the roof" but certainly making contact with the Ceiling!
  7. Correct me if I`m wrong but the (new) 3.5L going into the 2015 Ford 150 Truck thats replacing the 3.7 Duratec is also a "V6" naturally aspired (without) Ecoboost or Twin Scroll Turbochargers?
  8. That should but to rest the imminent demise of Ford`s Duratec 3.7 ltr V6. Despite the fact that only the Ecoboost 2.3 ltr 4 cyl and 5.0 ltr V8 will be exported outside of North America, the vast majority of 2015 Mustang buyers, (exception those with especially deep pockets) will opt for the 2015 Mustang in V6 Trim. Almost the same performance and fuel economy as the Turbocharged Ecoboost 4 cyl, a lot less expensive to purchase and a lot less to go wrong in the future with "natural aspiration", just saying.....
  9. What? Old outdated News? Source Fox News? Say its (not) so..............lmao
  10. mustang6g.com just released a list of 2015 Mustang MSRP Prices & Options. Disappointed to find out that in order to opt for a 2015 Mustang Convertible with the 2.3 ltr. Ecoboost 4 cyl engine requires a mandatory "upgrade" to the Premium Ecoboost Series starting with a base MSRP of $35.495 with a 6 Speed Manual Transmission. The 2015 Mustang Convertible in standard "Base" Trim with the 3.7 ltr. V6 Engine and 6 Speed Manual Transmission has a MSRP starting at only $29.925. I`ve changed my plans! I`m opting for the V6 Model and save the extra $5.500. I`ll miss the illuminated door sill panels, fancy inserts, a few extra speakers, and Leather trimmed heated/cooled seats too. For the added bells & whistles, the potential for a few extra MPG and slightly improved performance, the value, as I see it is in the 2015 Mustang V6 Convertible. Not everyone is ready to bite at a 40K plus Mustang once a few options are checked off. At MId 40`s the BMW 128i Convertible or the Audi Quattro Convertible needs consideration.
  11. Maybe not much weight difference but the same can`t be said of the Vehicle MSRP. 2015 Mustang V6 3.7 ltr "Convertible" available only in Std Regular Trim has a starting MSRP of $29,925 (but) the 2015 Mustang 4 Cyl 2.3 ltr. Ecoboost Convertible is only available in Eco-Premium Trim starting MSRP of $35,495. Sorry, the few extra "Bells & Whistles" and potential couple of extra MPG and a tad more performance is not worth the extra $5,500 to me. Changed my mind and I`m opting for the 3.7 ltr V6. Not everyone is ready to bite at a 40K plus Mustang Convertible once a few extra Options are checked off!
  12. Retired General Colin Powell also was lied to when he endorsed this War in Iraq based on the fabrication of "aluminum tubes" being readied to be assembled into "WMD`s. Those (in the know) Bush & Chaney knew that what was good for Hallibuton and their (own) Stock Portfolio, was good for the USA. No Draft, No Protest either by America`s youth. A dream situation for adding hundreds of Billions to the National Debt and spilling of our Nations blood. The only thing that was accomplished thanks to (mis-information) and "Mission Accomplished" is a further transfer of wealth. No Funds were ever lost, just an accounting entry and a shifting of funds from the Treasury Department to our Department of War and our Military Industrial Complex that former President Dwight Eisenhower (a Republican) constantly ranted about!
  13. True, and thanks to Conservative Republicans and the US Chambers of Commerce who insist that keeping the Federal Minimum hourly wage at $7.93 @ Hr. really helps, huh? If someone was making $9.00 or $10,00@ Hr it would be a Job Killer and all that extra disposable income would just be spent on Beer and Lottery Tickets anyway, right? Thanks to anti-union and right to work States, that is, the right to work for (less), you have the situation you have. Odd how the most disadvantaged and poor can be convinced to Vote against their own self interests. Just another prime example of the "dumbing down of America".
  14. These 2015 Mustangs that you have ordered that are now in the (unscheduled order bank) are any of them Convertibles? I went to another Ford Dealership and spoke directly with their Commercial Accounts Fleet Manager and he attempted to place a 2015 Mustang Convertible order at his computer using CONCEPS and it registered the Options but would not allow an Order to be placed yet? Awaiting JOB 2 and pricing before order could be accepted? He has ordered (5) 2015 Mustang Fastbacks successfully but Convertible orders are being held up. Two different Ford Dealerships, same answer or lack of one. If I still lived in Western MA I would order it from you!
  15. 4 American Embassy Officials were killed in a Terrorist attack. A tragedy, no doubt! Over 5000 Troops killed in an unjustified War looking for Weapons of Mass Destruction and another failed effort of "Nation Building" in both Iraq and Afghanistan and yet no outrage? Seems "Fair & Balanced" according to Fox News, right?
  16. I checked with my local Ford Dealership and the Salesman that ordered my last 3 Ford Vehicles. He said, at the present time, all 2015 Mustang Convertible Order attempts keep coming back with failed/error Codes. Please advise when the legitimate Order Book will accept 2015 Mustang Convertible orders on (both) CONCEPS as well as WBDO systems. I don`t want to be placed at the end of the line when the Convertible Scheduling Bank starts assigning "Build Dates". Evidently, there must be a "commodities" issue with Convertible Parts requiring a delayed JOB 2 Date. Late availability is one thing, not being able to place an Order is another. One should be able to place an order even before final MSRP prices are released. Not saying this is a botched rollout or launch but.......Wonder if Fleet Orders by Rental Car Companies for 15` Mustang Convertibles are being delayed too?
  17. Funny how UPS Employees all represented by the Teamster Union, "OMG", have higher wages and more benefits then USPS Federal Employee`s make. True, they have to run and work like Slaves (but) they are the last of the so called Blue-Collar Middle Class. Fed-Ex Employee`s are all (Non--Union) and make a fraction in wages that both USPS and UPS Workers enjoy. While you praise Private Enterprise, remember "Chainsaw" Al Dunlop that cut costs at every Corporation he was hired by? He, much like "Carvin" Marvin Runyon loved to slice and dice expenses especially laying off Employees "Al`s" last Job was CEO of Sunbeam Corp who he drove into Bankruptcy and (then) sued his failed Company for his "Bonus Incentive" after he destroyed the Business. Another (hero) of the Right to Work Righties! Bet you wish you held Shares in Sunbeam, huh? Worship at the feet of "Vulture Capitalists" an you too can end up with a cardboard panhandling board and your own street corner.
  18. Funny, Teabaggers, Conservatives, and Republicans only trust sources that are verifiable. The Bible, Fox News, & AM Talk Radio. Rush, Glenn, Mike, Laura, Ann, Neil, etc. All infallible much like the Pope. From Gods mouth to their Ears and then again to their own tongue`s to spread the (truth) to their loyal flock of Sheep. Interesting you know so much about these bizarre "fetishes" that you claim most Liberal & Progressives are addicted to. Did you get those talking points from the last meeting you attended of the World is Flat Society or a Snake Handling Church Revival held in a Tent somewhere in rural Kentucky or West Virginia? Was "Honey Boo Boo" or the "Duck Dynasty" group there too? No wonder this "Off Topic" discussion board is destined to be deleted. Its been amusing hearing the fears of "RomneyCare" while most Americans are generally pleased with their Socialized/Single Payer National Healthcare known as Medicare (for those over 65) Medicaid (for those without Health Insurance), and VA Care if you can get an appointment to be seen (assuming you served and wore the Uniform). They say, The Devil is in the Details. In this Blog, its the confusion over Facts versus Opinions. As they say, carry on.....
  19. I`m assuming you referring to the Republican Party lead by Karl Rove, Fox News and sponsored and paid for by the Billionaire Koch Brothers who were able to convince the Supreme Court to side with the Citizens United decision, ( not I) that Corporations are People too and have the same Freedom of Speech and monetary political power to fund and support Super Pacs which often tilt elections unless their Candidates include the likes of Christine O`Donnell, Todd Akin, Richard Murdoch, Sharon Angle, Alan West, etc. Recently a study was made of the smartest and dumbest States. Guess what? Top 10 dumbest were (all) Red States and the Top 10 smartest States were (all) Blue States, go figure. What a surprise, huh?
  20. Seldom do (we) agree but in this instance, I do. When one attends a KKK Rally, White Supremacy Gathering, or NRA Ted Nugent sponsored event, you should`nt expect to hear someone lecturing about man made Global Warming, Tree Hugging, Environmental Issues, Save The Whales nor the annual Canadian Harp Seal Slaughter. Odd that Red State Southern Conservative Republicans that proudly wear their Tea Party credentials seem to have forgotten that what they (think) they stand for all originated in Boston Harbor located in the very "Blue" State that they all share such contempt for, (liberal) Massachusetts, home of your Idol, the former (fake) flip-flopper Governor and failed Presidential nominee Mitt (RomneyCare) Romney. Now, make a futile attempt to (change) those Facts! Cheers and Happy Memorial Day. Being a Vietnam era Vet, (my) Flag is proudly displayed outside my home today, by the way.
  21. Frankly, I`m happy that the "Off Topic" Political rants have been curtailed from this Forum section. It was becoming simply a gathering for a lynch mob looking for a length of solid hemp rope and a sturdy Oak Tree. To say that the (bias) was even handed, where opposing points of view were given even cursory consideration before extreme hateful, racist, bigoted vitriol was interjected as a "fair & balanced" rebuttal is simply folly. You "Haters" (you know who you are) brought this upon your self. Now add me to the "Banned" Contributors to this particular "Forum"! Good riddance.
  22. ice-capades; The bottom line is it possible to order a 2015 Mustang Convertible (now) using CONCEPS? How much longer before the Web-Based WBDO System is up and running. If its possible to order a 2015 Mustang Convertible now, the order can be placed in the "un-scheduled" Order Bank but no prices are yet available? I want to assure an early Production Date when the Scheduling Order Bank starts putting Order in "Que" next month!
  23. There is no doubt that 90% Plus will all have the Standard "Blade Spoiler". Dealers will automatically order Stock/Inventory Models with the Standard Equipment Spoiler. Venture to say that almost all Retail Special Order 2015 Mustangs will be ordered the same way. The Trunk Deck, especially on the Convertible is so clean looking and sleek, who needs a steel painted "Hockey Stick Handle" welded to its edge to make it look sharp, IMO! Option Code # 13 D...Spoiler Delete SVP.
  24. How much of this Trillion Dollar Debt was caused by George W Bush`s involvement getting us into (2) Un-Funded Wars while he was reducing Taxes. Iraq and Afghanistan was a great success other then then losing over 5000 Troops and adding hundreds of billions to our deficit. All to spread Democracy? Nation Building? Looking for those still missing Weapons of Mass Destruction? "W" declared "Mission Accomplished" right? The Banner should have been unrolled at Halliburton Headquarters in Houston, TX and throughout the rest of our Military Industrial Complex. Its all about the "Bottom Line". Keep waving your Flag until your arm falls out of its socket. Obviously your Brain has all been fallen out of your skull!
  25. Thanks ice-capades. I called my Car Salesman up before I drove over to his Dealership and he informed me of the same fact. He told me he would Text me or Call me as soon as his Dealers Order Computer will accept an order for a 2015 Ford Mustang Convertible. I was both (his) and his Dealerships first Retail "Sold" Unit order placed back in Mar. of 10` for an 2011 Ford Fiesta Hatchback w/Power Moonroof "Late Availability" arriving on the first shipment received on the Car Carrier and hopefully my 2015 Mustang Convertible will follow the same way assuming the (commodities) are in stock at Flat Rock MAP to start Convertible production right away. Thanks for the updated info! Race Red, Ceramic Interior, 6 Speed Standard Trans. 2.3 Ecoboost 4 cyl engine, Spare Tire Option, Delete Spoiler Code # 13D. Thats all, yo`all. Hope it stays under 35k!
