2 things that will keep me from trading my Maverick for it: limited range and slow charging. Plus the fact that ever increasing electric rates have taken away much, if not all, of the lower fuel costs that EV vehicles did enjoy.
I agree totally regarding the need for a new Explorer, but the lack of a new generation is very likely due to the huge EV losses which have slowed Ford’s new product development by years.
Certainly can be dangerous if the throttle fails in some situations ( passing on a 2 lane road or accelerating through a busy intersection are a couple of examples).
I agree. We’ll probably have a couple more of these “reveals” leading up to the debut. I see no reason to show a vehicle that’s still 15 months from production.
I remember when that was reported. Seemed like BS (and I don’t mean Bronco Sport) to me. No reason why a well proportioned Edge couldn’t be developed on CD6.
Ford has seemingly mentioned previously what 4 of the 5 will probably be.
CE1 truck
The CE1 CUV
A small van (CE1?)
The affordable pickup that has been discussed on this site.
that leaves one model-maybe an Edge sized SUV?
As an aside I see Borg mentioned a hybrid 4 door Mustang, but I’m sure it won’t be one of the “affordable models”.
I don’t know if these range estimates are comparable to U.S. ratings. Typically, the Euro range ratings have been significantly higher and well above what the vehicles are able to attain.
