  1. Thank you to the Ford's Executives and Management that have taken the time to read the constructive comments offered here! On a personal note, Thank you in advance for building me a Great 2012 Focus Titanium!!! (VIN, but no build date yet).
  2. Finally got my VIN, but no delivery date yet, but the order has been released to factory. HURRAY!!!!
  3. No one is ever going to be happy having to wait for their new vehicle, but it does not change the fact that Ford could be doing a better job of treating their prized customers who believe so much in the company that they pre-order a new car unseen and untested! The people that pre-order new cars are also providing the company with the best word of mouth advertising as well!!!
  4. I also choose to purchase the Handling package because it is great deal for $500! The other reason for my choice was because I live in Canada, and have to put winter tires on the car anyways...so why not have great performance tires for the best time of year!!
  5. I will cross my fingers, and hope that my sales manager calls me tomorrow!!! Please call!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Your concern is understandable, but if Ford did not consider this car so incredibly important the market would already be flooded with them. The 2012 Focus may be new, but not entirely, as it is based on the previous Euro version...which is one of the most popular cars in Euroland. The Fiesta was also a proven car, as it was taken right from Europe with very little modification.....thought it is amazing what problems a little extra paint on a grounding post can cause! Oops! Have you been out to test drive the Focus SE model which every dealership now has available? Please do so! My dealer gave me a dealer plate and said "See you in an hour?". It was nice to take my time and enjoy the car. I hope they do the same for you.
  7. You should be able to go to any Ford dealership and at least test drive the SE model NOW!! Congrats and good luck with the negotiations. Push for a good deal.
  8. My gf bought a Fiesta at the beginning of this year and has not had any problems. The Truedelta information is not complete, because I would say most of the issues were from the very first cars, and they were not large issues. The major problem seemed to be with the dual-clutch transmission, but was actually just a simple grounding problem...Ford painted over the grounding post. I believe their was another issue with the seat adjust lever or door handle. Ford has put too much effort and money into the new Focus to mess it up now!
  9. I am not Iggy's biggest fan, but I am voting Liberal this time around, because we cannot afford to have a majority Conservative government!
  10. You all bring good points to light. Yes, it is taking longer than we all thought it would, and Yes, Ford has not commented, and their are only rumors. Pre-production cars have been around for at least the past year, and production in North American started 3 months ago, so what exactly is going on? This being my first new car, and first pre-order, I thought that I would have my car before most people knew that the car existed. I hope that Ford can manage to get any bugs worked out and get the car on the road before it is too late. An example of being too late was with the Fiesta. The Fiesta should have been on the road in June or July last year, but it was only available in September. Ford missing the entire summer selling season because of this! Being in Canada, I really do not have much choice to be patient, but if I was in the US, I might go test drive the C30 or Mini.....much less expensive in the US!!! I believe in Ford and this car and hence I am still here!!!
  11. I don't feel that anything ever degraded with my 97' Ford Escort; the car was always offered consistent performance. Here is a really good real world review of the new Focus. I hope that helps. http://www.thetruthaboutcars.com/2011/02/review-2011-ford-focus-se-sedan-and-focus-titanium-five-door/
  12. Hey Ford! The following Forum post and poll may not be the best representation, but from the poll about 80% of people would want to purchase the Euro LED-Xenon headlamps for their new Ford Focus! My personal opinion is that the Euro headlamps would increase the esthetics to match the Audi A3 and Volvo C30. Please consider providing it to us as an accessory or build option. http://www.blueovalforums.com/forums/index.php?/topic/44447-2012-focus-euro-headlamps-availability/
  13. Didn't the Dodge Neon have the same problem!!!! Is this foreshadowing Chrysler going down in flames?? Haha =)
  14. My point of this post was to present a professional point of view to Ford in a constructive manner, because I believe in the company and want to help them to improve and be the BEST! I have read many concerns, and thought I would do something about it. I do have a stake in the company simply because I have a Ford Focus Titanium on order, but I am being very patient. My car will arrive when Ford is satisfied that it is next to perfect!
  15. Not to worry Prairie Mule. Anytime you order a product, especially a product that has to be built you have to wait and you accept this. Of course, this is why dealers would rather sell you something off the lot, because they know the sooner you are in your new vehicle the happier you are! We do not know what goes on when a product is being built, and their may very well be all sorts of issues...especially with all of the different suppliers that are used today. I have already commented that I believe that Ford could provide better communication, but then again who couldn't.
  16. I am curious how many people would want to purchase the Euro style LED / HID headlamps for their North American 2012 Ford Focus. I do not believe that we have had any confirmation from a Ford Engineer as to their compatibility, but they appear to be about the same. We can present the information in the Management Forum afterwards for their review. I will also create a post at Focus Fanatics.
  17. Their are many great reviews out there for all of the new Ford vehicles, but when it comes to the auto rag mags I don't believe their is one of them that has given Ford any credit for their great new products. I am sure that the reason for this is that Ford is not willing to pay for the advertising, and they are upset and not willing to write anything nice. We should check the reviews of the other auto mags and post them back here as a comparison.
  18. If you do some good research you will find that the 2012 Focus has been given a great attention by Ford, in regards to its global design (German), and every manner of testing to make sure that it is absolutely the Best. I always do a great deal of research before spending money of products, because I want the best value for my money, the new generation of Ford vehicle delivers. When looking at the new Focus you need to forget anything North American, and look to Europe as it is based on the best selling Euro Focus. I believe that the the new Focus will be the absolute best, and that is why I pre-ordered the car! I previously had a 1997 Ford Escort, which at the time I purchased it in 2000 had a quality and reliability rating that matched the Honda Civic. Based on this information and the great price, it became mine. It never gave me any grief, other than the normal maintenance stuff. I recently sold it for next to nothing, because the body was rusting quickly (Canadian winters & lots of salt), but the engine still ran like a top! Dealers have started to receive the base models of the 2012 Focus, so why not go out for a drive. I will be Wednesday evening! I don't expect a lot from a base model, so it should be interesting.
  19. I don't believe that Ford is paying any of the car rags for their advertising! Ford is however using the advertising money to build better vehicles, and to pay off their debt; both of which benefits us all!!! The Explorer is a beautiful vehicle, and much more so than any of the others in the comparison!!
  20. All that we can do is be patient! It does not help that dealers have starting receiving their S and SE models, and we will see other people purchase and drive the car before us. However my Titanium will look so much better then the SE model!!!! I am taking advantage of the situation, and am going for a test drive Wednesday evening!!
  21. I also went to my dealership today, and they also had a Kona Blue Focus SE. It was nice to finally see in person, but not that exciting because it was not my Titanium! Still waiting!! I plan to go out for a test drive Wednesday evening.
  22. In my earlier comments, I was not after Ford to share step by step detailed information in regards to production, but a simple expected availability date. Of course you generally want to under promise and over deliver, so they could give themselves some leeway in regards to the timing. This gives the dealers and customers in the loop, and gives them something to look forward too!
  23. The upside is the Ford has hot girls!!!!! :shades:
  24. When you look at sales figures in Europe, Ford has a vehicle in the top three in almost every category. This is a great achievement!
  25. Lets take a good look at the sales figures in about a year from now (provided GM and Chrysler are still around), once Ford has more of their new vehicles (Focus, C-Max, New Escape) on the market. Ford has barely turned up the heat on the competition with the Fiesta and newly released Explorer.
