  1. Do you have some details about this schedule? 12 hr days? What are the normal days off?Are sat and sun paid at an overtime rate? Thanks for any info.
  2. Could you ask for the details on the $50,000 to give up your trade and post on here what they say? Thanks
  3. Cut the guy some slack. It seems to me he is just asking a question. He wants to understand how the hierarchy works. We do not need to personally attack each other simply because we do not agree with what they say.
  4. I know some of the TCAP trades would like the opportunity also.
  5. For hourly you do not see a deduction taken out of your weekly check but that is deceiving. We gave up $1 per hour to offset our health care costs in 2009 and we have given up part of our COLA to offset health care costs more than once.
  6. Also all of the employees that have just started at TCAP in the last couple of weeks and mounths get the $5000 settlement bonus.
  7. If we do not figure out a way to have a direct vote on our IUAW reps we will all be working for entry level wages within 10 years.
  8. Also if it was 4 mounths in advance it would be in november not december.
  9. Avon Lake,Ohio will not be done voting until tuesday also. I am not sure but I think they have about 1700 uaw workers.
  10. Good Post. Someone will be along in a minute to call you names, swear at you, and tell you how stupid you are. The trolls must be sleeping in this morning.
  11. It must suck to live in your hateful world.
  12. 100% correct. Some of the contract cheerleaders actually believe that we will get more skilled jobs even without language requiring it. A lot of them know better but do not give a shit. A lot of them have an attitude of ( I got mine so screw the trades). The company will try to contract out as much trades work as they can and this contract will help that goal a lot. I would not hold my breath waiting for Bob King or Jimmy Settles to do anything to help the trades after the contract has passed if there is no language to assure it.
  13. Where is the language saying they will ad 100 skilled jobs? I read all 562 pages but I do not remember any language requiring them to add any skilled jobs.
  14. Could you please explain what you mean by "GM fixed that and Chrysler hasn't came out with the details of a tentative agreement" ? I was not aware that GM needed to fix anything. They were already doing what was right, Ford was the one that needed to fix it.
  15. Everyone will be losing legal services. A lot of people will be getting less under the new improved profit sharing formula than they would under the old formula. All Temporary Concessions that were suspended in 2009 will be made permanent. Skilled trades will loose a lot of jobs with the mechanical work groups and will have the choice of hitting the streets or working in production for $4.50 an hour less than the trades rate even though GM and Chrysler trades keep there pay. The retires lose the Christmas bonus. You can spin it any way you want there are people who will be getting less profit sharing with this contract and we all lose legal services.
  16. I guess pattern bargaining is only used for the race to the bottom. We would not want the media or the transplants to think we were so unreasonable as to believe it should work both ways.
  17. I agree. It will happen with the unions blessing.
  18. Talk to Jimmy Settles and Bob King they will probably throw in some relief time.
  19. Come on Do you really believe that they just negotiated 12,000 jobs? They announced 7,000 of those jobs back in january and we will see how many jobs we have at the end of 2012. If it is anywhere close to what they are saying I will be surprised. There track record is not very good on following through with promised jobs. Yea Yea, I know this time it's different.
  20. I think if you go back and reread some of these threads you will see a lot of the hate and name calling and offensive language is coming from the contract cheerleaders. Just sayin
  21. What pisses me off is Bob King and Jimmy Settles know that with the mechanical teams most trades will never get back on their tools but they will spin it differently. What do you want to bet they will be voting themselves another raise shortly. This is the conversation I picture happening sometime about 10 years ago. FORD: We really need to run our business like a non-union business so we can be more profitable. UNION: Well ok, as long as we can continue to collect union dues. How about double or nothing on the next 18 holes.
