  1. As a whole,GM and Ram trucks has better incentives than Ford. Camry,Altima and Sonata incentives are hurting Fusion.
  2. 2 words...Incentive Spending. GM,Fiat and the Asians have A LOT more on the hood for consumers.
  3. The media and the critics love Fiat...that is the maker they want to prop up...Case in point, they swoon over the Challenger Hellpig, just on HP numbers alone...NEVER mentioning,or completely glossing over that the vehicle handles like a Wennibago. No critic can be completely neutral, they all have prejudices and favorites.
  4. The 2.7 ecoboost is an awesome powerplant. The power and torque is unreal for an engine of that displacement. The Alumnium body will get most of the press, but the 2.7 is a real gem.
  5. Why are we having this conversation? The golden rule of public relations is under-promise and over-deliver...this current team is over-promise and under-deliver. Now before everyone says "show us where Ford promised anything"... Ford did not manage expectations...not denying the claims of weight/MPG was passive agreement. The truck is awesome, but it was hyped on weight loss and substantial fuel savings...the media latched on, and will not give Ford the benefit of the doubt.
  6. They all have a love affair with Fiat for some reason...be ready for the media's piling on...they are famous for that in regard to Ford.
  7. The expectations, and the media's "Fiat Love" hopefully will not derail the momentum.
  8. The truck is a first class vehicle, very well thought out, however the factory is not doing a very good job of managing expectations.
  9. Love the technology, it has an aggressive look...anyone got the specs on the tires? The car needs a lot of rubber on the ground.
  10. Jeep customers as a whole are a loyal bunch...and the Wrangler customers are the fanatics of the Jeep loyalists. Ford (Bronco) is the ONLY maker that could make a dent in that market, but there isn't enough meat on that bone.
  11. Basicly the similarly equipped volume F150(XLT) '15 is at least 2K higher in price...the incentive on '14 XLT's are up to $5500. The '15 incentives will be at best 4K less. $2000(price increase)+$4000(incentive difference) is $6000 transaction price increase. Granted there are slight equipment differences, that could close the 6K,but this will be a high wire act Ford will have to do with pricing...Ford is very good managers of price, and are innovative with incentives...that is my only concern for this truck.
  12. Apparently, my state is not a flat gas tax, it is a calculation based on the wholesale price of gasoline...according to my state rep. It's a 9% excise tax based on the wholesale price of gasoline when it enters a storage facility for resale.
  13. Current Ford trucks are not at a 4K disadvantage to GM and Fiat...they are a little higher, but not anywhere to the tune of 4-7K. Love the '15 truck, the 2.7 ecoboost is an amazing powerplant...my ONLY concern is retail transaction prices in the marketplace...not factory advertising MSRP's
  14. I spoke with my State Representative yesterday, and he was telling me how much our state road fund would be short if gas prices continue to fall. I am sure many states rely on gasoline taxes for revenue for their roads. Our state's budget forecasters didn't see this coming .
  15. Yea, how is that affordable health care the government promised working out?
  16. Believe me, the transaction prices will be a lot more for the '15 than the outgoing truck. This is a concern at retail...Fiat and GM will try to gain market share with aggressive pricing on their pickups. We have a better truck, but will the public pay 3 to 7K more?
  17. I think they will manage the increase, but it took a while to manage the pricing when they introduced the '04 model.
  18. Transaction prices are A LOT higher than $395.00. That base price difference is misleading. If you compare volume models equipped the same, the price difference is more like 2K...in addition, the current incentives on the '14 is around 3-4K. This will be something that ford will contend with and I'm sure will manage.
  19. The media is hyping this launch so they can be the first to criticize, and place blame when something about the truck does not meet expectations...and on the other hand, if the truck is a flawless runaway success, they can be the first ones to say "I told you so" . The media is covering their bases. I think the truck will launch very well. My only concern will be that the truck will not be competitive price wise.
  20. Fusions sell because they are awesome looking vehicles that drive really well. Could it use more power? maybe. The ecoboost is the most misunderstood engines I have ever encountered with customers...customers somehow expect gobs of power AND 40 MPG. No other power plant has both those expectations like ECOBOOST.
  21. The incentives Toyota, Fiat and GM are putting on the hood compared to Ford is a lot. They also don't have the inventory constraints Ford has now...overall despite those obstacles, pretty good showing. I would guess if you took fleet sales away, the Fiat and GM numbers would be realistic.
  22. Not a big change at all, but I like the move to led's. Very interested in the powertrain and interior upgrades.
  23. I want them to be better than the competition...that is what YOU don't understand. I have a love for these products and this company that you can't fathom. This particular comparison test is not important in of itself...but it's a pattern with this car. You call it negativity, I call it fair criticism from a perspective that some here doesn't see. I apologize for my statement about you in retail...I don't know you and that was said in frustration. My apologies.
  24. Completely unfair Richard, frankly you surprise me...exactly how was that statement negative? Simple statement of fact. With all due respect, you wouldn't last a month in retail.
