  1. Sergio wants this, (for sure) but John Mackelroy is crazy to think this is appropriate. FCA is likely toast (in less than 3 years) and they will be swallowed up. There is one merger of power platforms. When I was in Eastern Europe and saw first hand the same key lock for every door and same garbage can, I laughed. Awesome for manufacturing efficiencies. Do you think they would have invented a garberator or a keyless lock? You don't need to merge engine operations. Well, not if long term you want better technologies and quality. Innovation requires competition and rivalries and passion. That doesn't happen in a communistic factory structure.
  2. I am of the opinion that the people who understand how to utilize and exploit for profit the very rapid advances in technology (hardware, software, rockets, engines and more) have a deep desire to find a way to best utilize the strengths of the brick and mortar manufacturing giants - since it is these same minds who design and conceptualize great technologies but rarely build them. Apple builds stuff by contract from someone else. Most high tech companies do not build complicated hardware. So, to me this means the $$ in Silicon Valley will soon be at Ford and GM's Door (or FCA) and willing to make a long term deal to build here in America. The next 3 years will be very interesting. That, I have little doubt.
  3. How about that!! http://www.autoblog.com/2015/12/21/google-ford-to-form-autonomous-vehicle-partnership/
  4. Can you imagine how much the press would be all over this car IF they ACTUALLY had that blue as an option. I mean, the chrome was cool. But that's way-cool.
  5. The blue guitar wood is amazing. You're right. If it's real, it's very good workmanship. I guess I am so use to things being so fake, that it's a bit of a surprise to see things that are real - when executed properly. You think "must be fake". I'm hoping that they give some really interesting options for colors.
  6. F150 Supercrew is there But, I agree with your point. We should have way more there.
  7. Wow....very impressive, and I would like to see a detailed 60 min tour video - and here more.
  8. After owning three Wrangler JK's, I think I am qualified to say, the quality of the Wrangler is decent, (if only because they're built like tanks), but good luck stopping in an emergency (I've had a few panic stops to make and they just DON'T - as brakes are far from reactive) - and the Headlights are a complete cluster F of a joke. you cannot even see the road in the country. Like, zero - if its raining. 100% Useless as tits on a bull. Hashtag #shouldbe-recalled #stupid #hitthings #uselesspieceofshitlights We ended up replacing the lights with LEDs and drivable new Fogs - not to mention some hood mounted super bright LED spots. Now, for off roading, and for fun, there is nothing like it. I go from the Porsche Macan S we have to the Rubicon, (both have red seats) and I could and would take either. Love them equally.
  9. As someone who (like many here) lived through the early 1980's resurgence of the Mustang (I had the 82 GT with T-Bar and 5-Speed) vs Camaro magazine wars and followed it into the 1990's when the cars really started to suck - and suck real bad - all I can say is that it is great to see both GM and F and C bringing us some incredible cars - which our children will know is/was the pinnacle of gasoline cars - before we all go green one day. They each have classic muscle cars right now, and it doesn't matter who is 0.5 seconds faster. They're all stupid fast - and 0.5 seconds faster will NOT be the reason why some are collectibles in 30 years. It will be because they use a fuel which you'll probably need a special polluters license to buy.
  10. Sorry about that "skirt" thing. That was my iphone doing that. Glad you answered though. We are looking for a city commuter car to replace the Escape (the Macan is getting miles piled up too quickly), and we've narrowed it down to the Sync 3 Fiesta or Focus, a Countryman Mini - and if the price was lower, a Volt. I woulod do a hybrid escape - but there are none. WTH
  11. Skirt, Order bank for edge opened for edge but not available to see ordering options on mobile Ford.ca site as of yet.
  12. So let's buy FCA, sell Fiat, Chrysler, Dodge and RAM, Lancia, and keep Ferrari and Jeep.
  13. The front photo with the lights on is fantastic - for sure. I can't believe I think they nailed it with this refresh. But still not a big fan of the interior.
  14. Eventually, the press will figure out that FCA is toast, due to Sergio Marchionne's complete pillaging of the candy store, which of course was needed to prop up an otherwise joke of a car line - on both sides of the ocean. FCA is toast. So, let's get on with it. Ford lost out buying the great production facility in Bramalea, Ontario when AMC was heading for bankruptcy (which would have given them Jeep for a song), so please do not blow your opportunity this time. Make a deal with Sergio save some face - (it's going so bad fast even HIS FAST-ASS head is spinning) and let him be the hero for a re-badge a few Fords - just like FCA just did with their Miata re-badge today. http://www.autoblog.com/2015/11/18/fiat-124-spider-mazda-mx5-miata-comparison-feature/ They have no electrification strategy, and he now HATES GM. So step up to the plate Mark. The Fiat Family is just like Fords. They need a way to save their empire. They're already doing it by selling Ferrari to remove it from the failing FCA empire which is crumbing. You have to get it before GM grabs it with a bigger pile of cash than you have. Because we all know they're blowing 5 Billion at a time with share buybacks, and we could grab Jeep for likely a years worth of profits if we were to include some re-badging. It would fill our plants to capacity, and allow FCA to part with Jeep peacefully, thinking we actually give a shit about them. I'm thinking we could then make a Bronco based on a proven off-road platform - and extend that brand into Ford's domain. Just please don't offer him a job. lol
  15. Dear Lincoln Management and Ford Media Relations, PLEASE RELEASE THESE WHITE CAR PHOTOS INSTEAD OF YOUR OWN GREY CRAPPY ONES. Some news bureaus are already using those ugly grey car photos (look on "yahoo F finance"). You want something in the papers tomorrow that looks great. http://www.autoguide.com/auto-news/2015/11/all-new-2017-lincoln-mkz-makes-surprise-debut-at-la-auto-show.html
  16. My daughter drives the current Titanium, and I showed her the photos and she says it looks WAY WAAYY Better. I also like it.
  17. My GM and Camaro comment is below You could sit and look at the Mustang for hours, and enjoy all of those incredible surfaces, dimensions, depth and details ascribed to the design. It's so damn interesting, it's actually incredible. It's potentially genius - and the pinnacle of the Mustang for the next 50+ years - or ever. When I look at GM, it's like they get tired once the chassis and engine are done, and then go and dip the cars into a vat of plastic....like when you were a kid with one of these. http://2.bp.blogspot.com/-fe01_qf0jRA/T6tdqeJfqwI/AAAAAAAAGQs/ooZsNA5F8AA/s1600/CSC_0451.JPG All I see with GM is a massive (actually overly massive) huge pile of well formed plastic comin' right at me! You don't see it drive by and stare at the surfaces. Imagine a Camaro's reverse impression of the front of it on huge ball of play-doh. It would look like an egg. I drew an egg when I was 4. Can I have a job Mary?
