  1. Sorry that I jumped the gun on my last post. I was confused and thought the date at the bottom of the window sticker was the build date. Anyways, can I please get another update now? 3FA6P0LUXER275991 Thank you, Hybrider
  2. Hello cyberdman, Thanks so much for the last update! Please check to see what the current status is on my car. 3FA6P0LUXER275991 Thanks, Hybrider
  3. Hi again cyberdman, Thanks very much for your last update! Please look to see if there is any new update on my order. F71182 / L100 Thanks again, Hybrider
  4. Hi cyberdman, When you have a chance, please check on the status of my order for a Fusion Hybrid SE, Ingot Silver. Dealer: F71182 Order: L100 Thanks in advance, Hybrider
  5. FYI, I just noticed that there were new increases in the Fusion and Fusion Hybrid base prices and destination charges that occurred sometime in the last few days. S: was: $21,900 now: $21,970 SE: was: $23,855 now: $23,935 Titanium: was: $30,500 now: $30,600 Hybrid S: was: $26,200 now: $26,270 Hybrid SE: was: $27,200 now: $27,280 Hybrid Titanium: was: $32,500 now: $32,600 And: Destination Charges: was: $795 now: $825 So for my upcoming order for the Hybrid SE I want, the total increase will only be $110.
  6. Here is the YouTube link to the ad I was talking about above, that shows the cool facial expression on the red Fusion. The evil Fusion smirk is easier to see if the video is viewed in full-screen mode, preferably on a big screen.
  7. Living in one of the hottest areas of the country in Arizona, I am only looking at the lighter colors. I demonstrated to the Ford salesman here how much cooler the lighter colors are to the touch on the Fusions here in the Arizona sun, even in late December. The darker colors would actually start burning your hand after 2-5 seconds (in December; ~70° F high temp), and the medium colors weren't that much cooler. That being said, I really need a lighter color in the 115° summer days here in Arizona. Many people seem to like the whites, in particular the pearlescent whites like the White Platinum on the Fusion. But in my experience the whites, and blacks too, show dirt way too easily. And I'm not one to wash my car nearly as often as I should, actually usually only when I get an oil change which doesn't happen very often at all with the limited mileage I put on my cars (~5000 miles each year). I would really prefer a elegant light goldish color or particularly a rich baby blue color on the Fusion Hybrid SE. In many of the online photos of the Ice Storm on the Ford website, it actually looks like the most awesome baby blue color I could possibly envision, but in person and in some of the brochure photos and online photos, the Ice Storm actually looks like a baby teal color, with way too much green in it for my tastes. I am personally not a fan of any shade of teal actually. So, drum roll please...I am forced to order the next best lighter color in my opinion, the Ingot Silver color. _________________________________________________________________________________________ P.S. Another reason I like the lighter colors on the Fusion is because it makes the grill and other black-out features, and the red tail lights stick out that much more. And that Fusion grill on a lighter color has the coolest, meanest look, like a cartoonish smirking evil demon character! Just check out the Christmas Fusion TV ad with the young girl sitting on Santa's lap, and at the end of the commercial, there is the red Fusion and you can easily see the smirking face expression I'm trying to describe. That Fusion is one mean looking car! :happy feet:
  8. The Ford-direct links I have found, from various topics on these forums, for looking up the window stickers include these (just add the VIN to the end of the URL before hitting the 'Enter' key): http://fordlabels.webview.biz/webviewhybrid/WindowSticker.aspx?vin= http://services.forddirect.fordvehicles.com/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin= http://www.inventory.ford.com/services/inventory/WindowSticker.pdf?vin= My guess is all of these links above access the same database server, but maybe not.
  9. This is so bogus, why would Ford make Fiesta buyers choose between the 1.0L EcoBoost and the Sirius Satellite Radio options. I would like to have great gas mileage and satellite radio too, but it does not look like it's even a possibility for the Ford Fiesta with the most fuel-efficient engine option (1.0L EcoBoost).
  10. Even though this 3D printing technology is not yet fast enough for high-volume direct production manufacturing, it still helps Ford to greatly reduce the time it takes to develop prototype test parts, or even for use in niche production applications, allowing much quicker and cheaper iterations of developmental engineering part ideas for more radical and innovative part designs. Hopefully Ford is using this new 3D printing technology to its maximum potential to allow Ford to get a significant lead on their competition!
  11. This would be really awesome to have a better, synthetic replacement for leather. If that is the case, I would then think the synthetic material would be the one that would/should be the premium seating offering, not the leather. One can only hope.
  12. My favorite is the 1985 GT, for several reasons...first because it was the re-awakening of the Mustang to once again have Mustang levels of power, with a 302 engine with a Holley 4-bbl carb and pseudo-headers, and because it was one of the most sleek, non-retro Mustang styles ever.
  13. I have seen this update in several places, but what are the 16 launches Ford plans for North America? I see the list includes the Ford Mustang, Ford Transit Connect, Ford Transit and Lincoln MKC, but that is only 4 vehicles. And 2014 is pretty much here so I would think the new launches would be known by now. So what are the other 12 launches for 2014?
  14. Are there any tools and/or software that allow a knowledgeable Fusion owner to program the software ourselves, such as for enabling the DRLs or other desirable features?
  15. Another possibility is if it peeled off that easy to begin with, I would see if the rest of it would peel off as easy. It almost looks like some kind of protective coating.
  16. What burns me the most about the Fusion Hybrid SE and Ti options that Ford offers is that Ford ties safety features like BLIS, Lane-departure warning, rain-sensing wipers, and auto-dimming mirrors to a requirement to have leather seats, which is not good for those of us in the minority who don't want leather seats. Other really cool options that are not available to me, without the leather seat option, are the Sony sound system and the push-button start.
  17. The start/stop feature seems to be like most other features, in that if it is done right, it is not terribly noticeable nor does it have much lag time. From what I've read, the starter and battery will typically have increased size and capacity to be able to handle the normal day-to-day usage of start/stop that is encountered by the _majority_ of the drivers. Also, it seems that Ford has done a very admirable job in implementing the stop/start feature, at least on the Fusion Hybrid, in a way to make it as smooth and unobtrusive as possible.
  18. At this Ford link (http://support.ford.com/sync-technology/mykey-encourages-good-driving-habits-sync-myford-touch), it says it should be warning at 50 mte: Earlier low-fuel warning: MyKey provides a warning at 75 miles to empty, rather than the standard warning at 50 miles to empty. This page seems to imply that this applies to all Fords with the MyKey feature, but since I don't have my FFH yet, I don't know if it applies to Fusions or not.
  19. As a newbie to Fusion Hybrid, I'm still not getting what the difference is between the SE and the Titanium tail lights. Both the 2014 Fusion brochure and the 2014 Order Guide (available online; dated 04/19/13) say the "LED Rear Taillamps" are standard on all Fusions. Am I going to have to go back to the dealer one more time to see the real difference?
  20. I'm so excited I that have my X-Plan PIN, and I'll be ordering my new 2014 Fusion Hybrid SE in 3 weeks, so that hopefully the delivery will occur about the time I finish payments on my wife's car. 2014 Fusion SE Hybrid FWD Ingot Silver Options: SE Hybrid Appearance Package SE MyFordTouch® Hybrid Technology Package Voice-Activated Navigation System Reverse Sensing System Rear Inflatable Seat Belts This Blue Oval Forum looks like it has a ton of info that, as an engineer, I can spend many hours absorbing all of it.
