  1. like pioneer said, there's no incentive to invest as an employee. There's much better options out there, especially for a 401k
  2. I've had this thought myself before these pics were released solely based on where they plan on building it (Warren truck, where the current RAM is built). Provided they don't go with the astronomical pricing Sergio was going on about a few weeks ago, it's a smart move for them.
  3. Agreed. Ford and GM both have this insistence of making the front end of their trucks look like rolling bricks and I have no idea why. I've always really liked the styling of the current gen RAM, aside from the gaudy REBEL version, and I'm glad they're sticking with a more sculpted front end yet still managing to make it look like a truck.
  4. Historically, GM has always been in denial about a slowdown until it's much too late.
  5. I don't know why you're wasting your time arguing with him, not one of his 36 posts has done anything but shit all over Ford....
  6. By that same token, you probably shouldn't put it through the ringer right away either. Just drive normally for a couple of thousand miles and it will be fine.
  7. Off subject: how/why is Sergio Marchionne considered some kind of industry corporate genius? The only good thing FCA has going right now is Jeep and Ram, both entities he had arguably nothing to do with the success of.
  8. Saying it's "poor sales" is a bit disingenuous. It's normalizing inventory to match demand. Except for GM because they almost never do it, the rest of the industry is doing the same exact thing
  9. ideal scenario would be if they ever open up transfers again and I go back to FRAP. We just moved and I can now walk there in under 10 minutes, I'm literally on the other side of I-75. I can see the plant if I go to the end of my street.
  10. heh, yeah I'm doubtful. Focus sales are still declining. I wouldn't be all that surprised if my job was eliminated by this time next year
  11. But then again I've only worked 1 out of the last 5 weeks so I don't know what's real anymore. Do I still even have a job?
  12. AFAIK, yeah. There's a dyno test involved and a test track (squeak and rattle). It's not repeated WOT cycles as you described though.
  13. It's not so much the reliability that scares me, it's the likelihood that if they drive like that, there's a greater chance that they just don't give a s*** about maintenance IMO. Yes they do go WOT at the factory, but only for the dyno tests. However the drivers that take the cars to the holding lots, I've seen them doing some pretty stupid stuff....
  14. I've noticed a LOT of F-150 drivers are like that. It's the absolute #1 reason why I won't buy a used truck.
  15. Hell, both of my cars are manuals and I almost never look at the tach.
  16. Sure, most of us do, but then a Ranger with a charge port on the fender was seen testing....
  17. I thought the day of the week your regularly scheduled shift is mattered too. Did that change with the 2015 contract or am I mistaken?
  18. I'm not sure of his source, but the whole extending it to MY2019 thing is new to me. Production ends at MAP in May 2018, and that's a done deal AFAIK.
  19. I honestly don't see the big deal about not having a tach on an automatic...
  20. Re: Mustangs for export The reason why they don't just run with only export mustangs and Lincolns is they are so thoroughly dispersed in the build mix it would be impossible to do on such short notice. To do that they would have to schedule out and plan for it month(s) in advance.
  21. Frames AGAIN?!?! You would think after the F-150 debacle they would have that sorted out and iron-clad for this launch. I'm afraid of what might happen for the Ranger launch now....
  22. Or someone like fordmantpw who doesn't quite need a Super Duty but an F-150 isn't quite enough to tow his Ferarri around town
