  1. Kids are much easier to teach than adults though.
  2. Oh just teach her to drive a stick! That 5 speed is bulletproof.
  3. Wait a few months for all of the pending transfers to take place and the retirement buyouts to happen. That's pretty much what those of us from the first round of layoffs in June have been told.
  4. That's a Chevy Aveo. It was replaced by the Sonic. https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Chevrolet_Aveo_(T200)
  5. Oh that's rich. You've done nothing but bitch since you signed up on this board.
  6. I would highly recommend getting the heated steering wheel if you live anywhere that gets cold.
  7. Eh, not much. RS is going to be limited in production.
  8. Regarding changeover. They mentioned that changeover will be "normal", meaning that once the order bank closes, it's build up as much inventory as they can. They're going to do as much of the work as they can during regularly scheduled shutdown periods (Christmas/New Years break, 4th of July, etc.) and be up and running on MY2017 as soon as they can.
  9. Likely added to each shift. When DTP changed over, they hired more people spread out over all 3 shifts. Probably use it as a parts and sequencing center like they did with some of the old Wayne Assembly building to feed MAP. There's a likely chance they could use it for additional stamping capacity as well.
  10. He obviously has one of the units that just has issues and can't really be explained why. I know they're out there, my cousin's '15 explorer sport has one.
  11. That's because they started with the already existing block from the 5.0 and went from there rather than using a brand new from the ground up design, which would have been more expensive.
  12. It does when that smaller displacement engine weighs less than the larger one. Remember, the move across the industry is for lightweight construction, and smaller, more powerful and efficient engines are a big part of that.
  13. Now why would anyone want to do a thing like that?
  14. I'm not an engineer, but I have friends and family that are. There are sometimes hidden tricks that can save weight, sometimes without using different materials.
  15. There's still a lot of engineering work that goes into using the lighter materials to account for the different properties of said material.
  16. You didn't get your way. We know, shut up already.
