  1. My fiance's dad has a Mazda CX-5. It's not bad on the road noise front, and not much engine noise for being a manual either.
  2. It's been pretty well established that most of those sales are to fleets
  3. Option 3 sounds like the best, most cost effective option IF the next 250 shares a cab with the 150
  4. honestly, i don't think there's anything wrong in being confident in your products, that said, there is a way to be confident and not overhype
  5. indeed. I've been bitching to my committeeman nonstop for a year now since we on door line seem to have the worst problems with attendance. The attendance policy is already pretty lax and for them to not even bother to enforce it is a damn joke
  6. I see your point man. Don't get me wrong, I was very upset about the whole thing at first too, until I sat back and thought about the situation. Keep in mind, the plant in Germany has been building the '15 Focus since last spring. It was delayed for us at MAP until December for god knows what reason. that means that they will be switching over to '16 models sometime really soon, if they haven't already, meanwhile we are struggling to even build the '15 cars. If anything blame the fuckers that can't be bothered to show up to work (don't get me started on that rant) for us losing the RS, not the UAW (even though there may or may not be blame there) or corporate, because quite frankly, its kinda easy to understand why they made the call they made.
  7. Most of the tooling for the platform was already there from when Mazda was still making the 6 there. The don't make hybrids or plug ins there and as far as I know, they don't do any of the high end all wheel drive models either. Don't kid yourself, those jobs were going to be added for the new mustang with or without the fusion volume.
  8. If you want 2 months of downtime to retool for a low volume niche product, then by all means. You do realize they would need to completely reconfigure the entire suspension lines, install new dynos that are meant for all wheel drive, as well as new tooling for engine line. The plant in Germany already has all of that.
  9. That's a HID light. It can look blue at certain angles.
  10. I agree, and that's what I was getting at earlier. However if a 7 passenger Edge does make it here, it should definitely NOT be called Edge+. This isn't Apple.
  11. I know what he's talking about, there's a lip at the base of the bumper cover (not seen in his pictures) that's supposedly for aero purposes, not the mouth guard looking thing
  12. In fairness biker, I don't think CT6 can be compared to Continental yet because of the latter being a concept at this stage. Yes it's pretty much what the production version will be but how much of the bells and whistles make it to production, as well as engine choices and other specs aren't available publicly yet.
  13. He's on crack if he thinks the Explorer is a waste of energy, but in the case of C-Max, it's evident it's going nowhere fast. There is strong rumor that there's a replacement for it coming in the next few years. It's also due for its MCE for MY2016 so it remains to be seen if that helps at all.
  14. Seems like a big if though. It's all but inevitable that Flex is gone in the next few years, but it seems like Ford is happy with the positioning of Explorer in the market, even with the addition of the Platinum trim. Not to mention that Aviator you keep referring to.
  15. Why do you need a 7 seat Edge? You have Transit Connect, Explorer, Expedition and for now, Flex to cover that.... *edit* I forgot, for those in need of a small bus, there's a full size Transit for that too.
  16. After seeing those two side by side like that, remind me again why people think that the Galaxie is needed in NA?
  17. Probowler brings up a good point. You can get a hitch for pretty much any car out there. My dad had one on his '02 sable and he's planning on putting one on his Fusion soon when he moves. I had one on my escort and my mom's neighbor has one on his Taurus wagon he uses to tow a 21 foot fishing boat.
  18. A fair point. There is a huge difference between Porsche and Chevy. Porsche can get away with that, Chevy can't. They don't have the same kind of cache. Same with Caddilac and MB/BMW/Audi or whoever de Nysschen decides they're fighting this week. Now, I could be completely wrong here too and it turns out he new platform is a big enough upgrade so it won't matter (like what Porsche does) what the thing looks like because it drives that much better.
  19. You honestly think that the teaser pics that are floating around aren't doing more harm than good? How can they claim all new when the only thing that really is different is the platform? It looks alarmingly like the current car, and that's a problem. I'm not saying that they need something revolutionary like Ford did with the Mustang, but that? It doesn't even look like its evolutionary.
  20. Yup, never said that. Keep putting words in my mouth, it's really fun! If you read anything outside of this website that isn't dedicated to blowing GM and their management, you would see that there's some buzz starting to build regarding the next Camaro not being the revolutionary design that SOME feel is necessary, and that the Mustang (even the Challenger in certain configurations) will continue to blow it out of the water and steal sales away. Does that mean that nobody will buy it? Absolutely not. You will still have the die-hards lining up in droves to get one, as well as the segment of people that absolutely have to have the newest model available. There might even be some conquest sales from people trading older Mustangs and Challengers just because its different. I just can't see it being the car to take down the Mustang based on the teaser shots and the little tidbits about the new one that have trickled out so far. Oh by the way, regardless of how well it sells, it's still paying for the continued existence of the fields floundering ATS and CTS inventory sitting on various vacant lots and empty industrial complexes across the state of Michigan.
