  1. Thanks again for all of your help! We are 6.5 days from my last bump, so you should receive it right at 7 days! VIN: 1FADP3L91EL304085 Ordered 2014-01-21.
  2. Thanks for all your help!! VIN: 1FADP3L91EL304085 Ordered 2014-01-21.
  3. *Rebump from April 25* As per rule #6 on your rules thread. Also, are you OK if we thank you after updates in the thread, or does it cause issues with your new post tracking?
  4. **Bump** Could I please have an update? I'm hoping it'll say that the car is built! Have a great day generous Ford employees!
  5. You could probably resolve some of that security concern through sandboxing. But then you'd be limiting a few key features.
  6. I'd follow Nick's advice. Running a separate circuit from the fusebox for the V1 will make trouble shooting easier if anything goes south in the future. You will also be able to add a remove audio plug, or remote display somewhere more accessible in the future with this option.
  7. Woah, those are awesome. Thanks Anthony. Could I PM you for those for a 2006?
  8. VIN: 1FADP3L91EL304085 Ordered 2014-01-21. Thanks!
  9. MKR is a nice name for it. Toning down the grill is definitely a necessity. Want to take a stab at power plants?
  10. I'm putting an amp rack in a 2007 today, but I won't have a 2012 to look at until the weekend. Hopefully Anthony can weigh in. Edit: Anthony did weigh in, in that case it's the same as the early Fusions.
  11. I would hazard a guess that Ford already has bombproof tracking for builds internally. It's a matter of making that system open for customers. One of the concerns might be setting unrealistic expectations if there's a delay, but that's something Ford PR could mitigate. It is most likely not a technical reason why we can't more accurately track our builds.
  12. That's not a bad looking car, good work Ford! As someone who drove a 1991 Escort LX in my teen years, the nostalgia is nice.
  13. Once you get cellular remote start you'll never go back. It's stellar, once I started my car on final approach into my airport at 10,000 feet AGL. It was nice and toasty despite the -35f temperatures by the time I made it to my car.
  14. You nailed it with this statement here. A smaller delivery estimate than the 6-8 weeks would be useful. Especially when the 6-8 weeks is going to be missed, a heads up would be nice. It looks like my 6-8 weeks will be 10-14 weeks now. I have a VIN, but no build date on ETIS yet. As someone who has been blessed with Amazon Prime's tracking, and a regular FedEx customer, I really, really miss having tracking on the car order. Even my suits come with more tracking on their construction than the car!
  15. I'd make it a Lincoln. It would be a great car for the mid-life crisis! A 2-door would be pretty sweet though.
  16. I think you're right with the MKS to Lincoln, vs Taurus to Ford comment. I think Lincoln could hit a home run with either a luxury Focus ST, or tuned MKZ though, especially when you look at the demographic buying Focus STs. Police departments would likely love a RWD Interceptor again though.
  17. It'd have to be AWD, but that would be awesome. I'd accept that, but the 3.5EB V6 would smoke everything comparable on the market. Hello Audi S4, you just got toasted by a Fusion. That's true, but not everyone needs that much car! I've driven the 3.5EB Interceptor and it's awesome, but I can't help but think, if it were a little smaller and 700lbs lighter it would be insane.
  18. Google's OS is free, so it by definition is cheaper than QNX or MSFT. I'd seriously doubt that QNX is in trouble, or lacking a future. Apple wouldn't have picked it to try CarPlay if they were concerned about future viability. Apple's got a lot of reputation on the line with CarPlay. I just hope that Ford doesn't abandon current Sync customers. I have a brand new Focus ST on route with MFT, and I seriously hope it continues to get updates into the future. Or, that iDatalink comes out with a Maestro to enable full removal of MFT. With everyone saying that the problem exists with the user, I disagree. While MFT does function, and is stable now, it is certainly not intuitive or quick. I learned it in a 2,000km drive in a rented Explorer with MFT, and it functioned well for me, but if you were to give it to my mother for example, it would be an utter failure. GUI design, and interface is crucial in a system like MFT which is going to be used by users who don't want to play with it to get good, but just want it to work. There is no such thing as iOS in the car. It's carplay now, and it's powered by QNX, which is the software Ford is apparently switching to.
  19. The LC6i and thus likely the LC7i can provide it's own "amp enable wire". That way you don't have to worry about which ford one to use. The LC unit will detect high level speaker power and automatically provide power to it's remote lead which can turn on your amps. The LC6i is a great piece, the LC7i is even better as it adds finer bass control. I am sure it will definitely do the job for you. The CleanSweep is a very good unit as well, definitely a step up in sound quality, but you pay for it.
  20. You may confuse the heck out of the Clean Sweep by giving it input that has added noise cancellation. The Clean Sweep's DSP continually tries to flatten the output signal, and having noise added to the sound may be a concern. I haven't tried it with a Clean Sweep, but you may want to compare results after setting up (Calibrating) the Clean Sweep while driving at your most common speed, and also while parked. trifistus, the JL CleanSweep and most other DSP/LOC combos have the ability to sense speaker input and act as their own remote turn on wire. Most even provide a 12v remote turn on lead for your amps. **On some cars, the power antenna wire is only triggered when the head unit is on radio. Not sure about the late model Fusions, but it's something to be concerned about.**
