  1. I have posted previously in this thread about ordering the Standard Plus package Navigator L 4wd. My price was $87000 and the only real differences between the $98000 Reserve model and the Standard plus was #1) the interior is the artificial leather versus automotive leather and I could not tell a difference between the 2 and #2) HUD screen. So I ordered the Standard first day the order book was open which I think was in August/September 2022. The production date has been pushed up several times and now the dealership has told me it wont be built until April meaning probably wont get it until May. Who knows they might push it up again! Basically the entire Ford/Lincoln food chain does not want you ordering that Standard because there isnt much profit in it for them. If you get the more expensive pork-laden Reserve or Black Label over $100,000 then you will get that car in 3 months or less. However, if you go cheap no one really knows when you will get that thing. If you can get the dealership to order it...some wont...then corporate Ford will deprioritize it and keep pushing up the production date. To be honest, unless you are a real Lincoln connoisseur you will not notice the difference between Standard and Reserve. No one lives out their lives in their car so if a few features are missing or the interior material isnt leather no one cares. It looks like a Navigator, rides like one and your buddies are happy to see you pulling in with the Navigator. The moral of the story is pay under $100,000 and you not seeing it fo a while..maybe 6 months or more or even get pushed into next year. If you go for the Black Label experience you will be getting that car in a reasonable amount of time. I saw one guy ordered his in September and got his in December while the guy who ordered the standard is still waiting today. Thats how this works.
  2. Basically, I suspect, its electrical. Its either the round switch where you select the modes or it could be something in the wiring like a loose ground. Its under warranty so take it the dealership, but I think its the round switch. That will be m guess.
  3. I was told by my dealership that if I ordered a "Reserve" or "Black Label" those have priority in getting built. I would have gotten mine in January if I went that direction. However, "Standard" models wont ship until March. The reason why I did not get the Reserve or Black Label is because the price was much greater and I felt like I didnt need all the extra options. The Standard with the plus package seemed like enough. Another reason why I didnt go Reserve is the windshield. Around here I typically replace a few windshields and the Reserve windshield has the HUD which is very expensive to replace. So you can tentatively expect yours in March, but I say "tentatively" because anything can happen between now and then like some odd parts shortage or labor shortage. They always seem to come up with something.
  4. I cant remember the exact date but I ordered mine when the "Order Book" opened which was back in August/September. I have asked several times and have been told do to a chip shortage it might not get produced until March. Getting produced and actually getting it are two different things so it might be until April. I found during this process the dates keep getting pushed up. I ordered a 2023 Lincoln Navigator L Standard with the plus package. "
  5. At the dealership it seems like their general belief is that some wastegate rattle is normal but there is a certain point where its so loud it cant be considered normal. I am guessing if the service department is very busy the noise is normal, but if it needs work its not normal and the turbo gets replaced. I know the dealership wont attempt any repair and elect to replace it.
  6. When I try to.view the file it flips to another tab which says "Get Support"? How can I view the file?
  7. I wanted to add when I got the vehicle there was a loose plastic access panel behind the navigation lcd. I clicked it back into place. I dont know but Im assuming it was waiting for chips and those chips probably went where that access panel opened to.
  8. I did a fleet order for a Lincoln Navigator...ordered in January...arrived late May...
  9. The dealer just received my Navigator and Im happy. You have to understand my frustration when a billion dollar company which has been in the business a long time has these supply issues. 5 months from order time to delivery is too long. Imagine the people ordering one now. In order to get the better options you have to order one otherwise you stuck with the in stock base models.
  10. I dont think you are seeing what Im talking about. As an individual situations like COVID come as a surprise and shock...just like a tornado or a fire. A company such as Ford should be actively planning for every disaster scenario. Its called "risk management". In this case the semi conductor shortage did not just come about like a tornado but it was months in the making. Back in 2020 this outcome should have been predicted and projected. All these analysts and executives sitting at their "home office" had lots of time on their hands to see this coming. So it cant be expected for you as an individual to manage and predict but a company like Ford should have projected this semi shortage. This is management failure. If they cant predict these outcomes months out whats the sense in them being employed by Ford.
  11. I am certainly not a billion dollar company with Ivy League grads at my disposal nor has my company been in business for over 100 years like Ford. I expect a lot more out of these guys and what Im getting is excuses. I know this is a challenging situation but they are supposed to have the experience, money and manpower to solve the issues. Isnt there any planning or risk management?
  12. Well...at no point in my life has it ever been "normal times". Ive seen and been through a lot of crisis to include economic crashes and hurricanes. My expectation for Ford is to have people in place who can manage through hard times. Im sure the people who work at Ford are not young kids. Seeing how they mismanaged through crisis tells me they need to find a new line of work and a search should be started for people who can do the job. As a business owner who has seen a lot of crisis I dont buy the "This is not normal times" excuse. You telling me you cant manage through crisis when crisis have become a norm rather than an exception. I got a laugh at factories shuttering because of wind...come on now...
  13. My Navigator still has NOT been delivered. Been told it was released by the plant. Am I being unreasonable by getting angry over a 6 month wait from order to delivery??? Whats the point of options and upgrade features if it takes this long to get a vehicle? I cant imagine a prosperous future for Ford if this is going to be the way its going to be. Their system seems broken. Folks back in the 50s and 60s could get a car faster than this.
  14. Just got a call from the dealer saying the Navigator will be here on May 4th...
  15. I called Lincoln Concierge. They have a lookup tool similiar to the one the Ford employee looks up the vehicle in another section of the website. Seems like there is a record of it at the Kentucky Truck plant and the ship date is to be determined or TBD. Im guessing its in production but probably stuck at a point where it needs a semiconductor chip. Based on all that Ive heard Im guessing Ford is manufacturing these vehicles to a certain point and parking them outside. Then they will idle the plant for 2 weeks waiting for chips. Not comforting knowing my vehicle is sitting somewhere possibly out in the open partially manufactured.
  16. Im not ceetain if the 2022 will resolve software issues. It will be an entirely new system so I can imagine a few bugs...
  17. Mine were major engine and major transmission. Engine opened multiple times. At one point the dealership considered replacing the engine. 10R80 trans disintegrated while on the road. Both turbos replaced for wastegate failure. Fuel injector and cat converter failure. Engine light blinking indicating major trouble. There were a LOT of issues in 2018 Navigator.
  18. Whats the issue exactly? Camphasers? Is there a cold start noise where the engine rocks violently? Does the engine sound like a diesel? It might be the turbos where the wastegate failed. I am a defacto expert on all the problems with this vehicle.
  19. I have never worked at Ford but in general lets just say I have a good idea what happens at these places... #1. Before the shutdown everyone is demoralized and does little work. The little work that they do is flawed and shoddy. #2. After the shutdown there is a period of time where things are getting back to full speed. Since workers have been off it takes time to get back into the swing. #3. Ford is only guessing when the issues will be resolved. When the plant reopens the issues might still exist. If their analysts couldnt plan for the current issues how could they predict when it will end? In 2 weeks will semi conductors or chips suddenly be abundant? I was thinking of a situation where I got the vehicle in 4th quarter and at that point I would not accept delivery...
  20. No production date on ETIS yet and the Kentucky Truck Plant wont be open for two weeks or longer.
  21. I called Lincoln customer service which stated there is no shutdown when its obvious the plant is closed. The employees I spoke with there is no date for reopening.
