  1. You will forever be a legend among Ford enthusiasts. Thank you for your many years long contribution to us all.
  2. Again, I'm speaking purely off what 'I think I know' from reading forums here -- but I don't think most regular sales staff have access to those numbers. I'd just call and ask for the SM/GM and talk to them. They can be hard to get ahold of but generally, again just from what I've gleaned off forums, it seems like the vast majority are happy to provide information and good to work with. The issue you are experiencing, which at least seems to me to just be a sales person who doesn't know better, is far and away the most common. Most all of those seem to me to end up resolved when the buyer talks to the SM/GM. They can be tough to get ahold of sometimes, for sure, though.
  3. Don't know anything about it -- but were I to guess I'd put my money on it have a lot of rhyme and reason that involves a whole lot of things that don't mix well with supply shortages or the concept of direct-to-consumer (if you'd even really call it that) retail ordering. I'd bet they have a lot going on trying to make it better -- but I'd also bet the supply chains will get better before they're able to implement anything. Hope I'm wrong there.
  4. Right, I am fully aware of what corporate IT departments look like. You're nitpicking language here for some reason? I'm really not sure what point you're trying to make with that. Credentialing is typically what I see people do when they are trying to argue something that isn't based in fact -- which is very odd to me as I'm not trying to argue with you on it but you keep going back to this. This last part is where you are really missing my point. Which is fine, I'm not claiming to be the best at communicating things. There is a very distinct difference, in a legal sense, between being wrong -- and willfully breaching a contract, intentionally misleading, committing fraud, whatever language you want to use. This is where the invoice with a new price comes in and the dealer gets to play 'wrong'. This is where the use the 'truth to tell a lie' comment was going. Because they have this document from Ford, it opens the door for the dealers to play dumb. Those two things are treated very differently.
  5. To my best understanding, a regular sales person does not typically have access to or understanding of A/X/D plan pricing or the forms to submit them. (Particularly with regards to price protection/exceptions) It sounds to me like you need to talk to the Sales Manager / General Manager and get clarification. Doesn't sound like he's denying your price protection, he's just saying they're not going to float the cash to you to reduce the price -- you'll have to pay up front and get a refund from Ford on it. Just me, personally, I'd be very happy with that arrangement.
  6. I'm not without understanding of the nature of large companies and how they move, as I said it's a big ship and those are slow to turn, I absolutely get it. As for the remedy, that's the part I'm saying Ford could do a better job on. Yes, there are legal remedies. There is no circumstance under which a buyer will win enforcing a buyers order. Yes, you'll win in court -- but ultimately you lose. Which, I totally get was your point is that's on the lawmakers and states, and you are right, it is. I was merely stating Ford could do better in this regard to prevent the dealers from having this 'truth to tell a lie' approach to take advantage of buyers. I'm not trying to make a Ford is the big bad wolf argument, I'm merely stating Ford is in a position they could prevent some of these big issues by making changes on their end. As you said, they'd have to modify existing processes to implement such a change. Like most big corporations -- they created a dozen new processes on the back-end. I say that jestingly, but there's probably a lot of truth to it.
  7. I'm not sure I'd agree with that. Is the legal, technical, onus on the dealer and the state laws that regulate them? Sure. Could Ford just send the right invoice price to begin with and solve the root of most problems on the front end? Yes. It is within that perspective that I see many of the most common dealer issues as being on Ford.
  8. Unfortunately the environment exists where a dealer can basically force you out of an order and you have little recourse even if it is your name on the order. Really, that's on Ford. They've got a lot of issues with this process to clean up. Sadly, when a ship is that big -- it generally takes a while to steer.
  9. Last I'd heard, of course just from forum chatter, was they were going to build through late fall. That talk has been pretty consistent for quite some time so I tend to think that's their intent. My best guess is they are going to try to build all the retail orders. That could change real quick if 22MY parts became an issue whereas they thought 23MY would not be, I'd imagine.
  10. Good Friday! Would like to check shipping status of my order, please. VIN#: 1FT8W3BT3NED85994 Greatly appreciated!
  11. I'd imagine those are the prices from when the 22MY was announced. "Journalist's" are very rarely known to actually care to be accurate in their 'reporting'.
  12. So, I'm a creeper -- and creepers creep. Looks like in November your dealer set you to a 10. You work there. I'd talk to my GM and ask them to contact your zone rep and set it to a priority code of 01. At this point they would be on a razors edge to build it and have it delivered under the 1 year mark. I've seen people run right up on the edge of that year mark but I haven't seen anyone go over yet. Seems like most people who start running up on that are able to get some individual attention to get their vehicles built. Sucks that you had to move 5WP, though, that's a big one. Maybe your employer will allow you to use their equipment to do the install so it doesn't cost you $2k to get it in there after delivery. :\
  13. 5254 here, was built 04/13. Quoting another user from another forum on their "4/4 build week thread" on 04/11 in the AM. Seeing that makes me wonder if you're on some kind of hold. Seems like people with bed covers and/or wheel well liners are the ones getting held up the most.
  14. I've seen this said on various forums probably two dozen times or more over the last year or so. Seems to be more common lately and it seems like it has a lot to do with people talking to sales staff instead of the dealership GM. Anyone other than the GM tells you they are not going to honor your sales agreement, just say thanks for your time, hang up, and call back and talk to the GM. Now, if the GM tells you they won't honor their agreement -- then open a ticket with Ford Marketing. I've heard a few people say they had success via this method. Agree with your friend, though, it wouldn't be worth it to take them to court over. If if you win, you lose.
  15. Bummer. My WS updated today, was created on the 5th, first showed up on the 6th, assuming today was my build day. (Don't want to nag my dealer so I haven't asked)
  16. Trucking companies vary widely in terms of what kind of tracking they support. It ranges from some guy who owns a truck and uses his cellphone for everything all the way to corporate trucking companies with fleets of thousands of trucks and specialized software and processes for everything. Ironically, the worst of those, when it comes to communications/tracking, is going to be the merger of the two. That is to say a corporate trucking company that contracts independent truckers or smaller companies to handle a load. Then you have a hard disconnect because the corporate doesn't want the customer talking to the driver who they've contracted. Anyway, the point I'm trying to get to is the dealer is the most reliable link in that chain and it sounds like the dealer has marked it as being in final prep. So, yay, your truck is delivered.
  17. Someone on another forum detailed their experience getting a PCO honored that would have otherwise expired: That said, I've seen dozens of guys say theirs were honored and they didn't have any trouble at all. Just sent it to the dealer and good to go. Not saying your dealer was shady, probably just didn't know how to deal with the issue. Shame on Ford for the giant holes they've left with regard to stuff like that. 90% of this stuff there's nothing Ford can do about -- but the 10% they could have seems like it is really low hanging fruit to have ignored.
  18. First, gorgeous truck. Second, better in what regard? You could have gotten 34" AT tires on 20" rims with an FX4 package, had a higher payload, and saved yourself thousands. You will see some improvement with 34" AT tires. Depends on weight of the tire, rolling resistance, etc. Rolling mass would, assuming here, be less. Rolling resistance, assuming again, would be lower. Would you actually notice it, being you have the 6.7? Probably not. Might notice less road noise.
  19. Appreciate the forum. Can't emphasize what a helpful resource this site, it's staff, and members have been. That said, would really love to see a dark theme option. Did look, not sure it's actually just this simple, but looks like there are quite a few free dark themes available: https://invisioncommunity.com/files/category/191-dark-themes/?sortby=file_downloads&filter=file_free&sortdirection=desc
  20. Took a stock photo from Ford of a Marsala interior. The top blue is from Ford's promotional pictures of the Tremor in Antimatter blue. The middle bar is from a dealership lot of a antimatter blue F350. I'm sure you already know what it looks like really varies wildly by lighting. Just me, personally, I like it. I ordered my F350 in Rapid Red, kind of regretting not getting Antimatter Blue now -- it's such a cool paint in how wildly different it is based on lighting.
  21. Congratulations! Also, totally jealous. Not completely hate you jealous, but maybe not stop you from walking into a glass door jealous. :D
  22. On a note related to price protection, if you are buying through one of the plans (A/X/D) -- is the price protection automatically applied since they are based on invoice and the notes seemed to indicated the protected orders would not be 're-invoiced'?
  23. It's very unlikely that they are sending your truck to CA only to truck it to Texas. Usually a package is going to have a ramp code, not a city name, for it's destination. Those are generally 2 or 3 characters. UP does have a rail that runs just South of Industry, TX, through New Ulm, TX. Seems unlikely that's it's destination, either, but there's no telling. The track does split there, so it could be an area they unload.
  24. There is a thread on the fordtremor.com forum that details this process, I tried to just paste it but it just showed a broken image for some reason. The title of the thread is: Console to jump seat swap project (Reversible) It can be done. Won't be the same as if you'd ordered it from the factory, as previously noted, due to AC venting. But, it'll work if you need it to.
  25. Absolutely no reasonable person or dealer would blame you the least bit for buying a truck off the lot. They are acutely aware of the current wait times. If you ordered a truck today you probably wouldn't get it until late this fall, if even this year. When my truck is delivered, which isn't even built yet, but assuming it stays on schedule, it'll be over 9 months. If you get lucky and the world suddenly pulls itself back to some semblance of functioning, you'd likely still be looking at fall. X-Plan will probably save you about $5k. So your real decision here is pay $5k for a sure thing or wait who knows how long and maybe or maybe not get a 22MY truck at all. If I were in your position, I'd buy the truck. My local dealer just had a Tremor show up -- they didn't even get it on the lot before they sold it with a $20k markup. $100,670 for a F250 Tremor, gone before it was out of prep.
