JalopnikMatt
We just got some photos from our spy photos of the 2010 Ford Fusion Interior, you'll notice a gigantic LCD screen in the middle and new air vents. Love it? Hate it? Want iT?
igor
finally !! I think it has space for improvement - mostly in its overall dash-shape, but the dash was the least of the current Fusion's problems - noise and vibrations isolation was. NickF1011
About what I was expecting...which is to say.... :boring: What is with the complete lack of shapes on Ford's center consoles? If it ain't a rectangle, you won't find it on a Ford center stack. Functional? Yes. High quality? More than likely. Pleasant to look at? Not one bit. pcsario
They really should get rid of that ugly steering wheel already. The dash is all new, the bottom part is kinda recessed, nice. I hope they addressed the rear door panels. Edited June 11, 2008 by pcsario
pcsario
BTW Matt, most people only visit the FoMoCo Discussion forum. Subforums like this, save for The Competition and Employee forums, are ghost towns. Edit: Reposted your thread there. Love it? Hate it? Want iT? I don't get it. Wasn't one of the biggest complaints centered around how low the HVAC controls were? They didn't do a thing to address this. I do like the larger gauges though -- It looks like that gawd-awful 1/4" deep cheap silver-painted ring is finally gone from around the speedo & tach. And still no meaningful storage in the front of the console. And they wonder why people buy Hondas & Camrys (Camries?).

I do not get your complaint about front cabin storage - I drive the Fusion for a week and for a 1000 mile trip and found no lack of storage .. the top dash bin, the arm rest, the glove box and the under-center-stack bin were all handy and used ... I felt no lack - and more importantly see no better offerings from the competition. I never heard a complaint about the HVAC controls - but I might have not been paying attention - the complaints we had were - brick stereo unfit for the many functions crammed in, and lacking NVH. Philgag
kinda like it, but I too, wonder what it will look like without navi. The materials looks improved ...with new switch gear it should be all good.

FLLMTR
Geez, the interior is alright, but that new grill looks terrible. Someone please tell me that the front grill and bumper are not the final design.

Someone please tell me that the front grill and bumper are not the final design. If you're referring to the "smiling" one, no they're not the final design....those are mixed and matched pieces of new and old Fusions. The new front end should look similar to this:

Igor Igor: Just so you don't think I'm daft, I found the article in question regarding the HVAC control layout. Now don't paint me a negatard: I love the Fusion and I personally have no issue with the HVAC layout. I'll probably be getting a Fusion this summer. But from the December 2005 issue of Car and Driver: "HVAC controls located down around your ankles... The HVAC controls, down near the tunnel, are very difficult to see, as are the steering wheel buttons." Maybe that's just one cranky editor's opinion.
