Ford Flex - Counterpoint

Yeah I'm kind of new here, but have noticed this and think most people here have known this for a while.

Tried to defend his point of view a few times in the past. Just sad he can't admit when he's wrong or that he's not seeing the full scope of things. Then again we do have some cheerleaders here that are the same way, except they're Ford biased instead of against.

How am I worng about my dad having 170K of trouble free miles on his Lumina?

That was one car, and not the norm for the Lumina from what I've seen locally and read about on many sites.

The point I was making, is you insinuate in your post that Lumina's have very little to no problems, while the F150 is plagued by spark plug issues. Didn't state you were wrong about your dads Lumina, just that your feelings for all Luminas, based on this one Lumina was misguided and not looking at the full scope of vehicles. Need to look at the big picture sometimes, not just your individual experience with one particular car is all.

The Lumina Z-34 with the 3.4 DOHC V-6 was a lovely car, and IMHO, much nicer looking than the bloated Monte Carlo that was its replacement. But component quality was a problem for way too many owners.

I could be mistaken, but I don't think the Monte really directly replaced the Z34. After the Lumina went to the newer aero body style, the Monte Carlo simply became more or less the coupe version. The bloated ones I think you're talking about didn't come about until the Lumina was replaced by the Impala.
