unlike some whom STILL brand ALL Muslims as bad ( even though Barack IS NOT a muslim ) along with Syrians, Libya, Arabs, hamas, hezbollah, is it wrong someone wants to address potential extreme factions through mediation first, and exhaust that parameter ....Shameful loss of objectivity? seems some posters objectivity has been overthrown by chronic phobias, stereotypes and personal bias....I'm not defending anyone here...but peruse the shallowness of some posts....I swear soemof the narrowmindedness shown here is mind boggling....

Don't go bringing moderate beliefs into a BON political discussion. They make too much sense.

I dig these threads, because it draws out the right-wing religious nutjobs whose ranks diminish more every year (thank God, Allah, Buddha, Ganesh, etc) Tolerance doesn't fit well with these folks.

Honestly, it makes you wonder what some people would do if Obama is elected.

I will refrain from giving my suggestion....my guess is they will all be in therapy....I truly find it unbeleivable some of the total lack of objectivity and pre-historic mindsets....crazy stuff this politics.....

Yeah the statement "...urged Americans to vote for Obama as a step toward peace with Islam" -- that would be a really, really bad thing, wouldn't it?

Yes sir, Barky wants peace in Iraq, HOWEVER, if you listen to the man talk, he intends to shift the focus to Afghanistan. You know, going after the boogie man Bin Laden and his followers the Taliban? What a noble thought. Give our troops a further vacation in some god forsaken land while boasting here that he will stop the war.

Turn off the selective hearing and turn on your mind to think.

http://www.washingtonpost.com/wp-dyn/conte...8110301607.html

Obama presented Afghanistan as the central front for battling terrorists. He said Iraq has diverted attention and resources from this front and called for a withdrawal of most combat troops from Iraq within sixteen months. "Iraq is not going to be a perfect place, and we don't have unlimited resources to try to make it one," Obama said in a July 2008 speech. Rather than identify one overriding threat, Obama's strategy for making the United States safer includes securing the world's nuclear weapons materials, pursuing energy security, rebuilding alliances, and focusing U.S. resources on the defeat of al-Qaeda and Taliban forces.

I get my power from nuclear.

Of course, Obama is against creating any more nuke plants also, so that probably won't last forever.

150 million people in the US get their electrical power from coal generators....here in Va. we have both so I suspect that when barry makes generation by coal very expensive....everyone wil see their rates increase... I can't wait for the whinning to begin....

Obama isn't going to stop coal fired electro-plants - but they will have to meet existing laws.

What's going to hurt coal? http://www.off-grid.net/2008/10/31/micro-n...or-local-power/

And Nick, Obama has stated over and over again that he is not against nuke power plants - his only concern is the safety of the waste. Of course, if you want to volunteer your back yard as a disposal site - then that is a different issue. But either way "green" and new technologies like in the link above - are going to change things.

No need to get all freaked out.

Another defector. But this one took off the blinders and is leaving Obama.

http://www.worldnetdaily.com/index.php?fa=...mp;pageId=79963

A long-time Democratic speechwriter who claims to have written for both Barack and Michelle Obama

has announced she is leaving the Democratic Party and endorsing John McCain for president.

Wendy Button, a frequent columnist for the Huffington Post, where she is credited with writing speeches for Democratic Sens. John Edwards, Hillary Rodham Clinton, and John Kerry and for Boston Mayor Thomas Menino, made the announcement in a blog post called "So Long, Democrats" on The Daily Beast.

Button's reasons for defecting from the Democrats include false campaign slogans, poor economic policy and her admission that McCain was right about the surge in Iraq; but her argument begins with outrage over the way the Obama campaign attacked two women and a common man – Hillary Clinton, Sarah Palin and Joe the Plumber – the kind of people she thought the Democratic Party championed.

"I can no longer justify what this party has done and can't dismiss the treatment of women and working people as just part of the new kind of politics," Button writes.

She says "the final straw" came when Democrats attacked and mocked Samuel Joseph Wurzelbacher (a.k.a. Joe the Plumber) for balking at a tax hike during difficult economic times.

"The party I believed in wouldn't look down on working people under any circumstance," Button writes. "And Joe the Plumber is right. This is the absolutely worst time to raise taxes on anyone: the rich, the middle class, the poor, small businesses and corporations."

Button further railed on Democratic fiscal policy, stating, "Our approach to problems – big government solutions paid for by taxing the rich and big and smaller companies – is just as tired and out of date as trickle down economics. How about a novel approach that simply finds a sane way to stop the bleeding?

"That's not exactly the philosophy of a Democrat," she concludes.

Button takes exception in her article to the way her former party has mocked McCain's age, used Palin's wardrobe to score political points and portrayed the Republican VP candidate as stupid.

Button writes of Palin, "When someone takes on a corrupt political machine and a sitting governor, that is not done by someone with a low I.Q. or a moral core made of tissue paper." She even praises Palin for her determination and humility, despite stating she disagrees with the governor on social issues.

"Sexism. Racism. Ageism and maybe some Socialism have all made their ugly cameos in election 2008," Button writes. "It's not inspiring. Perhaps this is why I found the initial mocking of Joe so offensive and I realized an old line applied: 'I didn't leave the Democratic Party; the Democratic Party left me.'"

Excellent article on obama from the U.K.

Obama wants to change America into another commie state. That is quite obvious. Just look at his mentors in life were.

Obama's commie connections

________________________________________

In a letter to the official Communist Party newspaper, People's Weekly World, published after Obama's win in Iowa, we get a graphic view of what American communists see in Obama's presidential bid:

Obama's victory was more than a progressive move; it was a dialectical leap ushering in a qualitatively new era of struggle. Marx once compared revolutionary struggle with the work of the mole, who sometimes burrows so far beneath the ground that he leaves no trace of his movement on the surface. This is the old revolutionary "mole," not only showing his traces on the surface but also breaking through.

The old pattern of politics as usual has been broken. It may not have happened as we expected but what matters is that it happened. The message is clear: We can and must defeat the ultra-right, by uniting the broadest possible coalition that will represent an overwhelming majority of the people in a new political dynamic.

Obama has already proposed the creation of a homeland police force that will no doubt terrorize those in the "ultra-right" who will become the most vociferous and active opponents of his socialist regime. Hitler had a similar police force called the Gestapo – Geheime Staats Polizie or Homeland State Police – that terrorized the opponents of the Nazi regime.

In 1933 a majority of Germans voted for a demagogue who promised "change" and seemed to be the answer to their economic and national problems. None of those voters could have foreseen that 12 years later Germany would lie in ruins and be occupied by foreign armies.

The young followers of Barack Obama have been well indoctrinated in our public schools to accept slogans rather than actual substance. The Nov. 3, 2008, issue of Time magazine has an extraordinary picture of Obama standing before a huge rally of 100,000 people under the Gateway Arch in St. Louis, with his right arm outstretched reminding one of the famous Nazi salute. And what is particularly frightening is that two-thirds of the people in this massive crowd also have their arms outstretched in the Sieg Heil salute. What we see is mass hypnosis created by a charismatic hypnotist mouthing inane slogans and trashing the opposition. It used to be said that it can't happen here. But the picture shows that it is happening here at this very moment.

In his famous autobiography, "Dreams From My Father," Obama reveals that his earliest mentor in Hawaii was a man by the name of Frank Marshall Davis. It so happens that Davis had been sent to Hawaii in the late 1940s by the Communist Party to organize the party in Hawaii.

Davis had begun his communist career in Chicago. He was a friend and associate of Paul Robeson, the great singer, and Harry Bridges, head of the communist dominated International Longshoremen and Warehousemen's Union. Both men were secret Communist Party USA members.

Obama was born on Aug. 4, 1961, in Hawaii. The name on his birth certificate is Barack Hussein Obama, II, named after his Kenyan father who had married his mother, Ann Dunham, when they were students at the University of Hawaii. His parents were divorced when Barack was 2 years old. His father returned to Kenya. Dunham then married Lolo Soetoro, an Indonesian Muslim, and the family moved to Indonesia where Barack attended both an Islamic and Catholic school. In 1971 Barack returned to Hawaii and lived with his grandparents. During his high school years he became friends with Frank Marshall Davis, who inculcated him in the radical anti-white views of black revolutionaries.

Upon graduation from high school, Barack attended Occidental College in Los Angeles. He writes in his autobiography: "To avoid being mistaken for a sellout, I chose my friends carefully. The more politically active black students. The foreign students. The Chicanos. The Marxist professors and structural feminists and punk-rock performance poets. … We discussed neocolonialism, Franz Fanon, Eurocentrism and patriarchy." He then transferred to Columbia University in New York where he got his Bachelor of Arts degree. He then went to Chicago where he developed his talents as a community organizer. From there, he went to Harvard Law School where he became editor of the Harvard Law Review.

After a trip to Kenya to visit his father's family, Barack returned to Chicago where he was chosen by Illinois State Sen. Alice Palmer to succeed her. Palmer had been on the executive board of the U.S. Peace Council, identified by the FBI as a front organization for the Communist Party USA and affiliate of the Soviet front World Peace Council. According to an article in the Black Press Review, Palmer attended the 27th Congress of the Communist Party of the Soviet Union and came away favorably impressed by the Soviet system. The fact that she chose Barack to succeed her indicates that she had full confidence he would continue to advance her leftist agenda.

According to Ben Smith of Politico, it was at Bill Ayers' house that Alice Palmer announced she was running for Congress and had chosen Barack to take her place in the state senate. Obama, of course, won that election without any opposition. That was the start of his meteoric political career that has finally brought him to where he stands today. And he owes it all to his leftist, commie friends with their connections in high places. To them, Obama is the smooth, charismatic leader who will take all of them into the White House and give them power over the greatest and last bastion of individual freedom ever conceived by man.

I have to be honest with you Deanh. It's not about my support for McCain. It really is just about the obvious fact that you have a pretty bad inferiority complex and talking down to everyone on the internet is apparently how you cope. I feel sorry for you. It's why I usually don't respond to your posts.

PS I actually typed "support for Obama" by accident. LMAO. When I read it I spit up in my mouth a little :hysterical:
