battyr
FYI- curb weight of vans E- 150 = 4,690 lbs. Dodge Caravan = 4,200 lbs. Transit (lightest) = 3,800 lbs. I wonder which is more fuel efficient?
jpd80
A better site for you is Ford Australia - ford.com.au The pommy website is terrible to navigate around. On the Aussie website point at showroom and vehicle sub menus will come up, it's easy to trace through to Transit specs here's the direct link : Transit Specifications (weights are in Kilograms so multiply by 2.2 for lbs.) Transit RWD LWB Jumbo Van High Roof : Kerb Weight: 2176 Kg = 4,787 lb Gross vehicle mass: 3550 =7,810 lb Payload: 1374 Kg = 3,022 lb Gross combination mass : 6300 Kg = 13,866 lb Edited July 27, 2008 by jpd80

Red Star
Transit is a great van, I saw many of them during my trip to Europe over the summer, but somehow I don't believe it will be as successful as E-Series. Dodge tried that with Sprinter and it didn't work.
stephenhawkings
theres going to be a lot more variations of the transit thatn the three or four dodge had were talking differnt wheelbases and roof lines, a real nightmare for engineers launching it in the future at avon
boston
theres going to be a lot more variations of the transit thatn the three or four dodge hadwere talking differnt wheelbases and roof lines, a real nightmare for engineers launching it in the future at avon Its been three or four years but DHL was running some full sized transits in the Metro Boston area. I suspect it had the 2.4 liter Puma engine thats approved for use in the US.
94ranger
I imagine that the entire transit line from the transit connect on up will come to the US eventually. At first the biggest ones will not be brought over but as CAFE restrictions really hit home from 2015 on they will replace the E-series up until the E350 and E450. They will probably find a way to put the 3.5 V6 in to them.
