ANTAUS
LINK-Autoweek.com Not like Ford owns them anymore, but at least we are seeing some signs of this 5.0L we have been hearing about for some time...
JagXFRGuy
You mean XFR...I've been waiting for this car. I can't say that the ownership experience of the XK has been a good one. The car is a rattle trap like I've never experienced before... Time for the XFR..

battyr
Is there any relationship between this 5.0 L and Fords new 5.0 L?
NickF1011
Is there any relationship between this 5.0 L and Fords new 5.0 L? I would assume that the new Jag 5.0 is still somehow based on the AJ-V8 architecture, so no.
jon_the_limey
I would assume that the new Jag 5.0 is still somehow based on the AJ-V8 architecture, so no. Your assumption would be wrong because it is a new architecture with new base dimensions to the original AJ-V8 (most critically bore centres). However you are right that it doesn't share any relations with the new 5.0 for FNA (although it could have if FNA were interested) For those that are interested a few specs are: VCT on both inlet and exhaust Cam profile switching bucket tappets on the inlet side (Nat-asp) Dual length inlet manifold (Nat-asp) Centrally mounted direct injection Latest Eaton high helix angle 4-Lobe rotors supercharger I think it might have a variable displacement oil pump aswell, but can't remember for sure. PS Battyr In response to the chain drive thing a few weeks ago, the Audi vee engines have that chaindrive style because the have to drive a number of ancillaries from the chain (for example a centrally mounted balance shaft on the V6 and oil pump) and need to keep the engine as short as possible (Audi vee engine bore centres are only 90mm!) The reason the engine needs to be short is because the 4wd system on Audis' forces the engine to hang in front of the front axle, therefore there is a requirement to improve weight distribution as best they can. Edstock
Land-Rover might buy a few.
jon_the_limey
Land-Rover might buy a few. In one! And at the time (as I've said before) Land Rover were doing very well.
