Footballfan
Any ne info on what will happen to the Wayne Assembly Plant after 2010 when the converted Michigan Truck comes on line? I know a while back the discussion was that it would close or be merged with the newly retooled MTP.

moukanoid
I read in the newspaper and on the internet that Wayne Assembly will continue to produce next generation U.S/Euro Foci after 2010 and the new MTP will produce small cars and possibly the transit minivan from Europe. The new complex will be called MAP Michigan Assembly Plant.
moukanoid
slacker thats nice.appreciate thate i,v always worked hard never missed any time and you call me slacker.you must be a union rep.such wonderful people in the ford system.just curious about dtp job. buy wap. Sorry about that... depends on where you end up. Jobs on the door line, trim lines, box line, chassis, and possibly final assembly will keep you very busy with only a very few semi-easy jobs around. Engine, fuel tank, paint, body, stamping, diversified I heard had more better jobs available - still alot of toughies but lots of the better jobs will be filled when you get there. You will have to take what you get but jobs for bids come up you can sign up for probably a couple a month in labor. Be prepared to work hard and bide your time for a better job when it comes up. I've been in trim since 4/07 and still on a tough job with no end in sight - and I have 13 years plus. Some of the higher seniority people 17-25 years sen. that I arrived with from Wixom and NAP managed to get better jobs after a year or so on the standard tough jobs at DTP. Be prepared to be patient and work hard for awhile without being a pain to mgmt., keep your attendance and disciplinary record clean and you should be able to get a better job in a year or so. It's not really so bad at DTP, you'll be alright. Edited January 28, 2009 by moukanoid

Emigh
Thursday & Friday security escorted a hand full of supervisors out he door in body south. I wonder how many got the axe? :reading: We lost our supervisor on Thurs. That would be on the doorline. I guess security just tapped him on the shoulder, told him they would bring his things up front. How many? What was the reason for the firings? Any info? How many more?
